Day 0:
I left my seed in a glass of water for around 1.5 days until a 1cm long taproot was visible. I prepared a 20L fabric pot with BioBizz Light Mix. While filling up the pot I kept adding small amounts of water to activate the soil. Once the pot was filled to the brim, I added two tablespoons of Dynomyco to the center of the pot and slowly worked it into the soil. Afterwards I prepared 300ml of tap water with BioCanna Rhizotonic, Alfa Boost and the ph adjusted to around 6.3. I added 200ml evenly to the center of the pot and carefully placed the seed in a tiny hole. I covered said hole with a small amount of soil and slowly added the remaining 100ml. I then placed a small measuring cup above the seed to act as a humidity dome.
Day 1:
Roughly 48 hours later and the seedling was poking through the soil. This is when i start counting the days.
I removed the humidity dome and gave it another 300ml of tap water. This time I only adjusted the ph to 6.5 without adding any Rhizotonic or Alfa Boost.
PPFD is probably at around 250ish?
Day 4:
3 days later, which might have been a little too long, the soil was feeling dry again. I decided to water with 500ml tap water with 4ml/L Rhizotonic and 1.5ml/L Alfa Boost. The initial dosage of 2ml/L might have been a bit too much so I decided to go lower. I don't really feel like measuring the plant's height at this point in time. If you're wondering why the entire surface of the soil looks moist: I always use a pressure sprayer to add moisture to the surface of the soil. It makes watering easier and prevents the outer areas of soil to fully dry out as I won't be watering these for a while. The humidity might be a bit too low right now because I have another plant in mid to late flower in the same tent.
Day 6:
I kinda forgot to take pictures, but it's not like the plant has been doing much recently. I think it might be because it is getting less light than my other seedlings usually do. I'm keeping the light pretty far away because of the other plants in my tent. Anyways the soil was feeling pretty dry so I prepared around 700ml of tap water with the same amount of nutrients as the last time with the ph adjusted to 6.5
Day 9:
The soil was feeling pretty dry again so I decided to water with 1L of tap water. I added miniscule amounts of Biobizz Calmag and Biocanna Vega (must have been like 0.1-0.2ml/L at most).
I also added another 1.5ml/L of Alfa Boost and 4ml/L of Biocanna Rhizotonic. Ph was adjusted to 6.5 again. I'm still not super happy with how the plant is growing. I'm thinking about just doing lst instead of topping this time around because of how slow it is.
---------- IMPORTANT ----------
Oh well it's been a while. This grow is anything but organic at this point and I failed to take pictures on a regular basis. I will try my best to piece back together what i did and how much I fed the plant regardless. It is currently day 48 while I'm writing this so bear with me.
----------------------------------
Day 12:
I think I removed a single leaf and did a bit of lst. I usually top my plants so this was a first for me. I remember being unhappy with how the plant was growing so I decided to not slow it down any further by topping it. This is where I sort of stopped taking pictures for a while.
Day 20:
The plant didn't look super healthy and showed signs of nitrogen toxicity. I wasn't using a whole lot of fertilizer back then so I had no idea as to what was going on. Turns out my tap water is basically poison for young plants. It contains too much nitrate which explains the leaves clawing. I didn't care enough about this plant to flush out the excess nitrate that added up over time so I just switched to distilled and later on ro water with synthetic nutrients. Took me a while to figure that one out. My tap water's calmag ratio was perfect and I had no issues with chlorine either.
Day 26:
The plant hit flower a few days back and was about to enter the stretching phase. At this point there was nothing organic about this grow left. I let the soil dry out for longer and only used synthetic fertilizer. There was still an excess amount of nitrate in my soil but I didn't really care enough to do anything about it. This resulted in even more claws and burnt tips. I also did a pretty heavy defoliation around this time but I didn't take any pictures.
Day 34:
The plant still didn't look great but at least it was growing a lot more now. I think this is where i started to increase the dosage of the fertilizer.
Day 36:
Okay wtf is going on. The plant isn't stopping. I didn't measure it back then unfortunatel, but it's getting visibly bigger by the day.
Day 39:
Yeah I have no words for what is going on. I think the plant is looking healthier now tho.
Day 43:
The leaves appear to be a lot less curly now but there were some signs of a calcium deficiency on some of the leaves. That's when I decided to feed the plant some additional CalMag
Day 48:
I have now sort of caught up with the latest pictures I've taken and I will try to keep everything updated from now on. The plant is sitting at around 85cm measured from soil to the largest cola. There are still a few cal rust spots here and there and a few leaf tips are burnt. The plant appears to be done with stretching. I can see the first trichomes on the leaves sourrounding the bud sites. All in all I'm pretty happy with how this plant turned out considering the bad start it had.
The plan has definitely stopped growing in height and is now putting all its energy into growing those dank nuggs. I'm continuing the increased amount of calmag with ro water to combat the ongoing deficiency. At this point in time I don't mind seeing a few unhealthy leaves. As long as it doesn't get out of hand it won't impact yield all that much. I also had to change the light cylce to 18/6 because my second tent is being used to dry another plant. The photo seedling I kept in that tent had to be moved into my big tent and I adjusted the light cycle accordingly. The buds are stacking up well and appear to be covered in trichomes.
So the tip burn is getting worse. I've decided to do a slight flush with the next watering and go for more runoff than usual. I haven't measured EC in a while so I really couldn't tell you if that's what's actually causing it. I would assume so tho. Gonna increase the amount of CalMag I feed even more and switch to a different brand with a better NPK. I will also keep an eye on the ph from now on. AN keeps it in a acceptable range but it's a bit too low for soil. All in all the plant is looking great tho. Good stuff Mephisto
So the buds are really starting to get visually bigger now. I ordered some new late flower fertilizers/boosters I'm gonna try with the next feeding. Smell is getting pretty damn strong now but I can't quite describe it just yet. I'm not great at that stuff in the first place but it's hard to compare some of those Mephisto strains to regular flower.
looks great, good size plant too for an auto. i'm growing this one right now as well and the plants and nugs are monsters! mine smells of sour lemon, what does your smell like?
