As noted I’m overall happy with the grow. It’s been low effort with lots of watching. I did some LST starting week 3. She wasn’t as big as I wanted at the time but assume these factors are related to overall effort, pot size, etc!
As mentioned this was STRNGSEEDS DIY grow kit which came with coconut coir & nuits to mix in. Beyond that, I’ve not fed anything but ph water. This was more of a what can I get with their directions which I followed!
No disappointments as expectations were low. I did buy a handful of seeds to grow “My way” which I’ve just germinated in 5gal cloth bags. Follow along and enjoy!
Anyone else tried out STRNGSEEDS?
Purchase already completed & seeds have germinated so while I know the company is legit - I’m curious of their genetics. Anyone have dealings/word of them?
More times than not, seed sellers are a dime a dozen. Not much differentiates the average seed seller.
If they aren't selecting plants for breeding from large samples and taking years to develop a strain, it's just a pollen chucker. Sometimes they are just bulk resellers, sometimes they buy some 'real' genetics then breed it with some inhouse plants and call it a day.
unfortunately, word of mouth is often the only thing we have to go by. That's unreliable more times than not too.
Even with 'bulk' sellers you can fine awesome plants. Start breeding your own. If you start with high quality, you get high quaity. You can do what 80-90% of these so-called breeders do, lol. They use methods from the 1800s and they don't even follow those methods well. (mendellian genetics)
My one suggestion - Don't over-pay for seeds. You'll just be buying a name.
11/06/24 - Trichomes are looking mostly mature with lots of frost and some amber. Part of me thinks she’s ready to harvest, but I don’t want to kill her potential.
11/07/24 - things are looking good - she was dry when I checked on her this AM so gave 32oz @ 6.8ph. The yellowing of some of the older leafs appears somewhat better - last watering I added 2.5ml/gal of Cal-Mag. That’s my first official intervention with this gal.
11/08/24 - I was away most of the day but made sure to check in. Soil was still moist.
11/09/24 - soil still moist so probably plan on watering tomorrow!
11/10/24 - Looking good, some slight yellowing of the older leaves along with some burnt tips. Which is curious because I didn’t feed this girl anything but Cal-Mag. 2.5ml/gal at that! I’ll give her some water later tonight, things are still slightly damp!
Evening update: watered 64oz @6.8 ph. Wanted to test runoff so I overwatered a hair, in my opinion. Runoff measured 6.7ph & 1965 ppm
Curious what others thoughts are - I realize this diary is seriously lacking. I only stumbled here on week 8 of this experiment.
Do you think this girl is nearing, right at or still some time left before harvest?
