Soaked 7 seeds in distilled water for 20 hours. Planted them directly into jiffy pots with fox farm seed starter soil. 2 of them already started to pop a tail. Will transplant them to 3 gallon pots when germ
Update 6/7 seeds sprouted
Technically I got 7/7 sprouts. But 1 looks a lil funky and may not make it so I’m going to say 6/7 sprouts until next week. Keeping the humidifier on full blast considering they’re next to my woodstove. Will prob transplant sometime this weekend or Monday before I go to work at the latest because I can’t monitor them while at work of course. Took the humidity some off last night but misting it every few hours. Before transplanting I water the jiffy pot with Distilled water(1/4 cup) i than put them in 3 gallon fabric pots and give it half the water I would normally give it until they develop more(1.5 cups)
Got 6/7 sprouts and transplanted them to 3 gallon pots of bar harbor blend by coast of Maine. The bottom of the pot has a thin layer of compost and the top has a thin layer of fox farm happy frog seed starter soils keeping the soil moist at all times.
I looked the bar harbor blend and it says not to add nutrients for. Minimum of 3 weeks. So that’s exactly what I will do. But come the 3 week mark I will only add oyster shells and epsom salt for cal mag and sulfur. This will be the only top dressing I give it. Than it will be weak solutions of worm tea, kelp tea, liquid fish emulsion and sugar feedings.
Just amped the light up 100% power. So far
They’ve taken kindly to that. But it’s been only a few hours. Leaves are pointing up right though.
I planted a pea plant surrounding the jiffy pot in the 3 gallon pot to fix the nitrogen
All look healthy. 1 is growing a lil bit slower compared to others. 1 has a slight yellow on leaves but barely. Other than that healthy.
I haven’t added any nutrients yet as today is only day 15 since transplant. Day 17 since germination.
Come day 20 I’ll add epsom salt and oyster shells as top dressing
Pruned the bottom sets of branches and the bottom leaves on most accept the slower pheno. Gave it the nutrients you see above all organic of course. I also use runoff water as it’s good for microbes and extra nutrients.
Merry Christmas and happy holidays btw
Literally just gave it fish emulsion. I’ve been giving it run off water every day except on days I give it nutrients. I cut down the pea plant as they are hitting pre flower now and shouldn’t need the extra nitrogen. Not to mention they will prob fight each other for nutrients and water so it did its job anyway. These double grape autos are growing more horizontal than vertical which is ok. I prune and defoliate 2 leaves at a time every 2-3 days to avoid stress. Once they hit flower I’ll stop plucking leaves except dead ones. I’ve heard you don’t want to prune or defoliate on days you give it nutrients as that can over stress the plant. I’m trying my best to be as patient as I can.
Also just had to say. These plants are way smaller than they usually are at this stage. But they are also not as developed as my other autos. Which leaves me to believe these are a slower growing strain.
Plants are looking happy and healthy. All got a feeding this week of epsom salt and oyster shells. I also give it runoff water on days I don’t give it nutrients. But I’m going to take a break from that for a couple of weeks to lower the ppm a little. Not that I check the ppm as this is all organic but the runoff water has a dark color to it. And it still smells like fish from last weeks feeding so I decided to just give it plain ph water for 2 weeks and then we switch to sugar feedings starting with coconut water then molasses, than the clearing phase when they just get plain ph water the last 3-4 weeks.
I pruned and defoliated them a little bit. I think I’m going to do that 1 more time(just a couple leaves per plant) other than that they are still growing a little slow however they are in mid pre flower so they have some stretch time. White hairs are popping out of all of them which is great. Looking forward to the next few weeks of growth.
Will be Switching to sugar feeding starting with diluted coconut water and switching to molasses starting next week.I give it diluted runoff water to add extra nutrients and microbes on days I don’t give it nutrients. They are small but they still have 1-3 inches of overall growth as a guess. They are about 7-8 inches tall and 5-6 inches wide all look healthy just slow growth is all but id like1-2 oz on each plant In the next 6-8 weeks
Did a deep clean around the area. Just gave it the expensive Raw coconut water from the health food store called harmless harvest if you have ever heard of it.
I use 1 cup coconut water to 1 gallon distilled water.
Next sugar feeding is molasses to give it last minute nutrients.
The last 2 feedings will be honey which is weak in nutrients so it’s good for pre clearing phase(organic flush)
I will give plain ph well water last 3 weeks than plain distilled water last week to remove any contaminants and salts
I did any final pruning and defoliation this previous week.
The tallest one is 10 inches the shortest one is 7 inches
Colors are coming. Yield expectations are higher than originally anticipated. I was thinking. 7 oz originally but now I’m thinking 8 to 9 oz’s
Terps and trichomes are coming in thick.
Terps do vary between fruity grape cotton candy and Afghan kush smell(earthy hash incense)
Small but bushy plants. Lots of bud sights
Gave it molasses and liquid worm tea as its last moderate feeding. Just a couple honey feedings as it’s light in nutrients and good prior to clearing phase(organic flush)
They changed colors within hours of giving it to the molasses and worm tea. I looked it up on Facebook AI. It’s because of some chemical/hormone called anthogyns. I can’t explain the full science so u can look that up your self
No more nutrients for this gal. I’m putting it through the clearing g phase or organic flush as I call it.(just plain ph water)
1 more watering than I will harvest the tops 3 days after.
Overall small yielding plant but the quality of the terps are trichomes are there so for growing it I give it a 6.9/10
