She’s drinking a weeks worth of nutrients every 4 days. I’ve had to supplement them during the week so she’s not starving. I’m going to give her one big batch again tomorrow, but I don’t see her going more than 2 weeks. Hoping I can get her to bulk up a bit more. She’s a monster
UPDATE - DAY 95: Holy crap, this plant is going nuts. I lost a small plant (Cream Cookies) due to a freak accident -- a reflector with a CFL fell and landed dead center on her (RIP Cookie -- I'll see you up there 👆). It was probably for the better because this plant is so BUSHY. It's still all white pistils. I moved my light up higher towards the ceiling, got rid of the hanger altogether because the main cola was a little burnt on the very, very tip. She has definitely bulked up, and her roots are incredible, I'll post root pictures near harvest -- I try to avoid snapping photos and exposing my roots to light. But they are massive and really nice white looking. I would like to see more bulk in the next week or two -- so I added some General Hydroponics Liquid Koolbloom. I added about 10mL, and I estimate I'm using 10-12 liters in my 5gal bucket. I'm going to use up the last of my Advanced Nutrients lineup and move to FloravNova and the rest of the General Hydroponics lineup. I thought this plant would be done by now...but maybe another 1-2 weeks? Very few orange hairs yet -- nice trichome development though! As far as nutrient PPM goes -- it's hard to say on a weekly basis, really. This plant is drinking SO much, that I've had to supplement her mid-week for the past few weeks. Hence, the bush 🙌
I have a ppm meter, but I'm not using reverse osmosis water, I'm using tap water so my ppm is already at 270. I'm using 1/4 of a tsp per gallon of each of the general hydroponics trio. Are you finding it true that autos take about half of the nutrients as photos?
@@Chi_Town_White_Boy, Awesome, thank you. I’m not necessarily worried about electricity, I just want what’s best for the plants. If they will grow better with both on right now, then I’ll do it. Thanks, again. Been thinking about taking some pics and starting a diary.
@longgreenbull, you can probably get away without bloom on for another week or so. I'd go ahead and throw it on in a week for sure. If you want to go ahead and throw it on now, that'd be fine too -- though would obviously use more electricity.
@@Chi_Town_White_Boy, I have another question. I have a 450 watt lamp with both a veg and a flower button. I've just started week 2, do you think I should wait to turn both buttons on, or would it be a good idea to do that now or maybe next week?
I am growing by bubbleponics, roots sitting in water in reservoir below. I m using Advanced nutrient Micro Grow & Bloom...... No other supplements other than this . I prepared solution in 15 litres of filtered water having initial Ph of 6.80 &PPm is 122. After mixing 4 ml each to per litre of water, of the three nutes, the solution had Ph of 6.0 &PPM 980 on the day. Next day it is 6.30 & 998. Next day it becomes 6.10 & 1040. Thereafter it falls to 5.90 & 1040. Again next day it has gone down to 5.70 & ppm stays almost same to 1050. So only PH is getting disturbed &this has happened for third time
. 4 days back when i saw these spots in night, i measured Ph &it had fallen to 5.0 , where as it was 5.50 in morning. So i changed the reservoir solution immediately & replaced it with fresh solution. Again the same thing is happening as mentioned in my earlier details mentioned above. Ryt now PH is 5.70 where as it was 5.90 in morning. I am unable to think for any reaaon for this fall in PH.
May be this has caused the spots on leaf ?
...
I am unable to get the way to maintain it even though the nute manufacturer claims it that the nutes maintain PH automatically.
Plz help n suggest.....
@Amitshah, you need to use pH Up and pH down as needed. I use GH’s, but there are many brands that make it. Be sure it’s for Hydroponics (and not for swimming pools!). I put my pH Up/Down in a dropper bottle. Usually 1-4 drops is enough to correct the pH. Do this twice a day and you should be good. Ideal pH range for hydro is 5.6-6.3, though most nutrients get taken up by the plant around 5.8-5.9.
@@Chi_Town_White_Boy, hey, alao i would like to mention here that i had made solution in 15 litres of water & now the reservoir presently has only 13 litres ,when the ph has come down to 5.40 ,in 3 days after reservoir change. In 3 days the plants have taken in 2 litres of water. Just mentioned as this may be of any concern to the Ph balancing.
@@Chi_Town_White_Boy, hi, thanx for ur reply
...
Ph in morning was 5.70 &in evening after 10 hours it is 5.40
Can u suggest what to do while using advanced nutes micro grow & bloom, to raise the Ph. May be U must have also faced a situation similarly as u too r using these nutes
..
Plz suggest
Also I would like like to ask you that as in the description of your week 7 and for the further weeks, I can see that you are using many other supplements along with the base nutrients..........I am using only the grow micro Bloom of advanced nutrients .....what would you suggest ,that should I grow only on these base nutrients or should I use the supplements also, as you are using ??please suggest...
@@Chi_Town_White_Boy, Hey ,thanx a tonn for ur help & prompt replies........ Also I would like to ask you that as I had put in 12 litres of water with nutrients in the reservoir initially but now after 4 days the water level in the reservoir has gone down by 2 to 3 litres . hence I need to top up the water level in the reservoir .so should i use plain pH'ed water to top up reservoir or should I use nutrients also while topping up the reseevoir???
@Amitshah, plenty of growers get amazing results without any supplements. But If you’re interested in trying some, there are tons of free nutrient schedules. General Hydroponics has one, and so does Advanced Nutrients. Nebula Haze at GrowWeedEasy put hers up to on that site, and other growers do the same.
One thing I’ll mention is many nutrient schedules are specifically for Autoflower or photoperiod. Make sure you get the right one or adjust accordingly.
I’ve used General Hydroponics full lineup and the Advanced Nutrients full lineup. A lot is to be said about environment and other factors, but I’m going back to GH.
As seen in pics 1 , 2 & 4 of week 7,few parts of fan leaves on lower left aode have been cut. Were these cut due to some problem or was it just done for some other reason.
I am asking this as I am having some yellow round spots on few of my leaves on the lower side of my plant .so what can you suggest for me. if you did it because of the same reason then should I also?? what do you suggest....
@Amitshah, hi there! No, those leaves were cut from the bucket. In DWC, leaves sometimes get stuck in the bucket when you go to close it and so you see the tips get snipped off sometimes.
As for your problem with spotting, my first thought is pH imbalances. Are you consistent with your pH? Any reason to suspect swings of pH? I’ve had this happen a few times, and it can develop overnight! You’ll likely be unable to cure the affected leaves, so you’ll have to decide to leave or pluck them. If they’re lower leaves, not getting much light, I’d say you’re safe to pull them. If I’ve fixed a problem, I will often pull the bad leaves. But sometimes I’ll leave them til my next wave of defoliation.
Probably best to ask: what is your grow medium?
@DailyBread, yeah I used to do more training when I first started. I figured I’d go the lazy way and plant more plants to get a similar yield with less work. I am noticing the photos seem to be healthier and easier to grow, IMO. But I should probably get back to doing training again. What kind of lights are you using? Do you like them?
@longgreenbull, thank you! 🙏 Even though I’m kndolrs, the climate in Chicago changes my interior conditions quite drastically. Difficult to keep it warm, proper humidity, etc. now that spring is arriving, I’m finding perfect conditions for the ladies - and I think they’re happy! Plus, I’m still learning how to properly care for them!! 🤷♂️🏻
I'm growing ww too. Actually they are just a few days old, I'm growing 2. Anyhow, I'm new at this, and I already added 1/4 strength general hydroponics nutes because one of them is already growing a set of true leaves. Do you think this is okay? Thanks in advance.
@longgreenbull, yes that Should be okay. If you don’t have one already, buy a cheap PPM meter pen and start tracking the Ppm levels of your nutrient solution. 1/4 strength could mean a lot of different things. For week 1, I do about 75ppm. Week 2 i do 150. I get up to about 650 at peak...mind you, these are my levels strictly for auto flowers. Sometimes the younger plants are harder to see if they’re getting too much. Save yourself the guesswork and get a PPM meter to guide you. It’ll help you dial in your nutrient level and save cash on unnecessary high levels of nutrients.
I got 2 kind 300s and a black dog 200 in my flower tent. I got a 1k black dog I am not using right now. They are the only things I have ever use so idk
Hello there.......as told earlier i am growing in bubbleponics where roots of plants sit in water in the reservoir below..... reservoir is of 50 litres & i put in 15 litres of water every week with nutrients &top with plain water if reqd during the week........ also to quote that i am having 3 plants in this single reservoir.........is it enough to put in 15 litres of water weekly or should it be more, as there are 3 plants growing?? Also plz suggest that should i maintain them in this single reservoir or should i shift them in seperate containers???? If yes ,then what size reservoir should i use for a single plant & how much water should be feeded weekly so as to avoid root bound or any other issues?? I am still vegging & its day 56. Planning to switch to flowering in 2 to 3 days...... Kindly suggest.......thanx
@Amitshah, it’s hard to say specifically but it sounds like 50l could be okay. If your plants get huge, then Yku may want to move one to another reservoir. I tend to keep my nutrient/water level about 1-2” below the net pots and I maintain it by topping it off with water daily and pH’ing it. As I said, hard to say if your res is too small without seeing photos. Sounds like it could work but your roots might be a bit tight.
Hey there....... As i see in picture number 6 of week 7, that you have done some defoliation....... is it so ??.....if yes then on which day did you do it ,as right now I am in day 45 and I have done defoliation just yesterday and plan to switch to flowering after 5 days as its a photoperiod & not auto. .what would you suggest .....after how many days should I go into flowering after defoliation?? Also i am trying to give Low Stress Training to plants...... In Nutshell, what plant training u did & at what time?? Also i am trying to keep my Ph balanced &i feel its working,as u said.......thanx.....happy sunday......
@Amitshah, I do defoliate. What I tend to do is defoliate the top most set of leaves (one set) from the main cola once they’re large fan leaves. This tends to allow the next nodes to grow into that space. This is my “strategic defoliation”, whether or not that’s what it means for other growers.
I also defoliate once the fan leaves get too massive. I pluck those to allow for better light penetration, but more importantly, to allow other bud sites to grow into those areas. Be careful though, plants need a few days to recover.
GrowWeedEasy.com has great tutorials on defoliation, especially regarding flowering stage. Check those out and let me know if you have any other questions. 🤛🏻
@DailyBread, I’m using a cheap brand called King Plus. I have a 1500w LED in one tent and a 1200W LED in the other. I have some other small LEDs that are in storage, but I went with the King Plus to conserve electricity. It seems like it’s okay...but I may switch again. I’m going to try first going back to General Hydroponics nutrients...I’ve had great yields with that lineup. Trying to figure out why my yields aren’t going up. 🤷♂️🏻
Hey there...........can u plz suggest a LED grow light which i can use for my 3 plants growing in an area of 2 ft x 2 ft..... Presently i am using two LED lights of 300 Watt each for all the 3 plants.......the lights are placed at 14 INCHES above canopy as i am in flowering stage with 12 /12 light schedule. its day 79 of my grow and 4th week of flowering.......the full spectrum lights i am using are of non branded companies...... the maker states the output to be 315 PPFD/PAR at 14"......will this be enough or should i go for a higher PAR enabled light like viparspectra or king plus led......plz suggest as what i hear is that higher the PAR higher is the yield......
