Started seeds 10-24-24 on 10-27-24 I planted them into 2.5" seedling pots with miracle grow seedling mix. By 10-29-24 the seedlings were starting to grow their first set of true leaves. I start seeds in a moist paper towel which I then place inside of a sandwich bag leaving the seam cracked about a quarter of the way. Next I lay down a 20"x10" seedling heat mat and cover it with a cotton table placemat or hand towel to prevent overheating. On top of the covered heat mat I place a ceramic dinner plate then I lay the seeds on the plate. I turn the heat mat on low and cover the plate concealing the seeds in darkness. If you choose to cover the seeds to shroud them in darkness make sure you have adequate ventilation so you don't smother or overheat them. I wait until the seedling has completely busted from the shell before transferring into soil. this can take 2-3 days, sometimes I will lend a helping hand and remove the shell. Leaving the seeds in the paper towel too long will kill them. When I see the tap root just starting to emerge from the shell I'm usually transplanting the seedlings 24-48 hours after that. Make sure to check your seeds at least 2-3 times daily.
Seeds hit the paper towel on 10-24-24 and I transferred them into 2.5" seedling pots 3 days later on 10-27-24. I start week 1 of veg when I see the first set of true leaves
appear which is typically 5-7 days after sowing seeds. The veg start date for this run is 10-29-24. The photos I post are always taken at the end of each week. Light height was 29"-31" power 30% average PPFD was 210-250 µmol/m²/s
Up potted from 2.5" to 1 gallon pots,12 days after being moved from the paper towel. . During the transplant I Inoculated their roots, with Mycorrhizae and Beauviana bassiana. Watered in all the transplants with Recharge and RO/DI water. Below is the organic potting mix I blend at home. this is a water only recipe when the roots fill the pot its time for a top dress or transplant. Compost teas work if you need to push them longer in smaller pots.
Veg Soil Mix 1 Cu ft (7.5 Gal)
• 3.75 gal Fox Farm Happy Frog = 50%
• 1.12 gal compost/worm castings = 15%
• 2.65 gal aeration (pumice) = 35%
• Gaia Greens All Purpose 4-4-4 = 22.5 tbsp
• Montana Grow (SiO2) 76% silica = 3 cups
• Gypsum = 7tbsp
• Oyster shell flower = 7 tbsp
• Rock Dust 1:1 ratio basalt-glacial = 14 tbsp
• Charged Bio-char 2.5 % = 3 Cups
• Gnarly Barley = 1 cup
Up potted from 1 Gal nursery pots into 5 Gal fabric pots. At the beginning of week 5 I turned the Evo 4 up to 40% power. light distance from canopy 29"-31" average PPFD 280-320 µmol/m2/s.
End of week 6 Veg. I Lightly defoliated all 4 plants through out week 6, plucking a leaf here and there. On the last day of week 6 I got a little more aggressive with the defoliation. I also removed all lower branches that had foliage touching the soil or close to it.
End of week 8 Veg. Took clones and did a heavy defoliation. I have not topped or done any LST with these ladies. Very uniform growth between these cultivars with #4 being much shorter than the rest. These plants have been a breeze to grow very low maintenance with great growth structure.
I applied a top dressing on day 1 of flower, application rates below are for 5 Gallon pots.
-BAS Craft Blend=1/4 Cup
-BAS Worm Castings =1/4 Cup
-BAS Gnarley Barley =1 tbsp
I Mix these amendments in a bowl then work them into the top layer of soil. After I've worked the amendments in I layer that with 2-4 cups of worm casting and 1"-2" of potting soil and water In Recharge. The goal here is to keep the amendments moist so the biology can break them down for the plants. Letting your soil dry back to much will interfere with this processes which normally takes about 1-2 weeks.
End of week 3 Flower. Upon opening the tent on day 18 of flower I was greeted by some very frosty flowers. It was like a switch had flipped overnight!
Starting heights of each plant on flip day were
#1=20.5" #2=20.5" #3=20" #4=14"
After 3 weeks of flower
#1=31.5" #2=30.5" #3=31.5" #4=24"
Percentage of stretch
#1=54% #2=49% #3=58% #4=71%
Unfortunately Poddy Mouth #1 and #4 hermed on me I noticed at the start of week 4. Really hoping I cut them down in time before they threw pollen we shall see. Top dressed at the start of week 4 flower with the following.
1/4 cup Buildasoil craft blend
1/4 cup worm casting
2 tbsp Gnarly Barley
I work these into the top layer of the soil then cover that with 1"-2" of worm casting and amended potting soil and water in everything in with recharge.
End of week 7 flower and the senesis is on! These Poddy Mouth are on full display the nugs are absolutely coated in frost! The smell is great you get earth with sweet undertones on the tail end of the inhale. The trichomes are consistently milky from canopy level and down to the lower buds. At the end of week 7 I have plenty of Milky tricomes with a bit of Amber here and there. This girl is quick to finish flowering I will be chopping soon just letting her ripen.
