Another week on cruise control. Just letting her grow and bulk up. The stretch appears to be over. Buds are stacking nicely, and becoming very sticky and frostyπ. The smell is now strong and smells nice and sweet with a citrus tone. Some leaves are fading out to yellow, and some pistils are changing as well. I continue to get some tip burn when using Cal-Mag Plus, likely due to the 2-0-0 nitrogen. The main "Tee" section of the trunk has bulked up some in girth this week. Watered twice this week on Apr. 27 FL31 and Apr. 30 FL34 with a half gallon topside with the nutrients noted above. Dropped my Relative humidity to 48% average this week to bump up my VPD values to those suggested by Pulse Monitors. On Thursday April 25 I had a power outage from 9am to 1Pm. This can be seen in the weekly VPD chart. During this outage my VPD dropped to 0.4, Humidity spiked to 66% and temps dropped to 64 F. Thankfully this outage came shortly after my lights go offπ³, and I don't foresee it causing any problems.
That's about it for now! Have a great week everyone, and grow on!
Peace,
DeaneRπ
@Mrs_Larimar, Still have to stay vigilant. As you know it only takes one little gnat to restart a colony! The mainlining is fun. Not sure when to stop though, and let her growup.
@Mrs_Larimar, Thanks for your kind reply. I think I spent 4X as much time on my diary as I did on my plants π. I really hope new growers will look at my grows and become inspired to give it a try.
Hi DeaneR wow big army against the gnats, thy for the tip with homemade traps, I got 2 more things that helps. i tried everything you take, it helped much but best efford i had with predators
i took Nematodes .... ( Steinernema feltiae)
that killed them very good... but it takes a little and using the other things too , braucht me pace . the nematodes est the larvae of the gnats. so you have to fight the flies ...but all larvaes get killedand the nematodes stay in your soil looking for more
And the second is bacillus Thuringiensis (BT) In my opinion the Nematodes helped best together with yellow traps
@DeaneR, they send the nematodes with a cooling pack......they dont like it hot... cool makes them stay like dead.
They dont like it hot....you se its no problem to let it send to you
@Mrs_Larimar,Haha, yes a big army to win! I though of getting some nematodes after Bulbi suggested them. I cannot find them locally, and I fear they would die in transit in this cold Canadian winter weather. Have also considered BTi, but it is hard to find locally as well, and a bit pricey online from the USA. For now, I will have my troops stand their ground in defence!
Solid looking grow, thanks for sharing all the details. Your training techniques are impressive, especially when she was small.
I'm sure your results will be impressive as well. Going to follow along.
@DeaneR, haha I hear you.
I do not have a filter at all,l. When you get to the front door you can already smell from the outside. I don't care a bit as it is legal here in Ontario. Wait until I put some plants outside, haha, the whole neighborhood is going to smell.
@BarrieGrower, Thanks bud, I am running a 6 inch carbon filter in my 2x4 tent... It can't keep up, lol.
When I enter my house it face slaps you at the front door π. After a few minutes you become acclimated to it, and don't recognize it anymore. I can't imagine not using the filter though. I need to set up an exhaust to the great outdoors, instead of dumping back into the grow room.
@Silky_smooth, She has put out alot of pre-flower pistils over the last few days. I top dressed her with Gaia bloom 2-8-4 dry amendments yesterday, and plan to flip her Wed. Mar. 27. I want to allow a few days for the rootzone life to start breaking down this organic feeding...plus I need some time to build a ScRog frame.π
Sheβs looking great but just should cut her down a bit keeping only the top 2 max 3 nodes of every branch to not overcrowed her during her what i think is gonna make for an amazing flowering period ππππππ keep it up πππ
@Silky_smooth, I see what you're saying. I thinned out some shoots today. I'm thinking about trying to let the terminal ends turn upward, rather than topping them, and trim out some of the branching that is crowding. Not sure if I'm explaining my thoughts correctly, lolπ
@Canadian_Steelheader, Thanks, this is only my second grow, and I'm battling a war against the dreaded fungus gnat (more on gnat in my next weekly post). Trying to setup for a controlled canopy in flower.π
