####Please do read the disclaimer in the first entry! 12/10/24 Short facts: - Watered in about 1,25l - 9cm high - Light is @70% but in a distance of 60cm + humidity dome -- 240 to 300 ppfd - 3 real leavepairs are already developed! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Very happy with the growth so far, it’s already faster than the plant I had before. Healthy development and looking good! I used previously used soil, which I had mixed with some other unused soil. So it’s no surprise that some clover is already present and growing. On Day 6, I added some additional clover seeds, but much more sparingly than I did in my previous grow. The Blumat Digital Pro has been really helpful in keeping the soil consistently moist. Neither too dry nor too wet. This should support good root growth. Maybe I’ll add the Blumat drip system carrots after Day 10 or so. We’ll see!

####Please do read the disclaimer in the first entry! 12/17/24 Short facts: - Watered in about 1,25l - 16.5cm high - humidity dome is gone - defoliated the bottom two leavepairs --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The growth is very good, which is also why I had to remove the humidity dome. She looks a little bit droopy right now. I’m not sure why, but maybe the soil is a bit too moist, and the humidity is quite low without the dome. (The VPD is at 1.3, which is actually a bad level for a young plant. But she’ll have to deal with it for the rest of the week until the Grease Monkey gets cut down.) As you can see, I’ve installed the Blumat drip-watering system. I used two carrots/sensors and three drippers per sensor. They form a kind of "S" shape, so two sensors water more on the outside while one waters near the stem. However, I couldn’t adjust them yet because the soil is still a little too moist. The Blumat Digital Pro Plus is currently showing 70 mbar. I want to maintain a range of 90–100 mbar, as the recommended range is between 50 and 120 mbar. Also, some more news: I finally have a reverse osmosis system up and running! So the plants will get better water from now on. I suspect something has changed with how the water is being processed. They use water from a nearby river that’s treated, but honestly, that water really sucks! With winter beginning and the temperatures dropping, the pH of the tap water has also changed. This suggests they must have adjusted the processing method. I suspect the CalMag problems and the strange nutrient issues with the other plants may have been caused by the poor-quality tap water.

####Please do read the disclaimer in the first entry! 12/24/24 Short facts: - Blumat drip water system active - 27 cm high - VPD @ 0.9 - Did some leaf tucking --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The growth is very good, and I’m happy with it. She is now 27 cm tall and has six growing side branches, with more on the way. She’ll likely remain in the vegetative phase for another week, after which she will probably start flowering. I’ve been practicing some leaf tucking to expose the side branches to more light, and that’s going quite well, although there is one branch that’s growing a bit slower than the others. I’m really trying to avoid stress as much as possible. The only time she experienced any stress was during watering when I set up the Blumats. I hope this approach will increase her overall size and that she’ll experience a significant stretch during the first two to three weeks of flowering! The Blumat drip watering system is working, although it’s not yet 100% dialed in. However, I’m going to reach my target range of 100–120 mbar. There has been no overwatering or excessive dryness in the past week, so everything is going quite well. The root juice and silica are already mixed into the water in the reservoir. Combined with the nutrients already in the soil, this makes the growing process relatively stress-free. I’m really enjoying this approach, it leaves me with more time to spend with the plants instead of constantly mixing fertilizers.

####Please do read the disclaimer in the first entry! 12/31/24 Short facts: - 49 cm high - VPD @ 0.8 - Did some LST - Took of some light-blocking leaves - Dealing with some Blumat related problems - Using some colloidal silver on two branches --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The growth is progressing very well—she is now 49 cm tall. Midweek, she began flowering. Her growth has been quite rapid! I had to intervene with a bit of LST and also removed a few leaves that were blocking light. I can already see hints of purple appearing in the flowers again, which is fantastic! I’m really happy about that. Additionally, I started spraying two of the branches with colloidal silver. This should result in pollen sacs forming over the next few weeks. However, I encountered a significant issue this week with the Blumat drip irrigation system. It wasn’t functioning properly and failed to maintain consistent moisture levels. The fluctuations were significant, and the Blumat Digital Pro Plus was showing over 230 mbar, far outside my target range of 100–120 mbar. I suspected there might be an obstruction in the small hose. After attempting to fix it, the system started dripping again, but unfortunately, it overwatered the plant overnight. I removed the Blumat sensor and hose to investigate further. I inspected the sensor internally to check for blockages but couldn’t identify any issues. To err on the side of caution, I drained the reservoir and cleaned it thoroughly, along with all the hoses. I also set up new hoses for the other two plants. Now, I just need to install a new sensor and recalibrate it, though that won’t be a fun task. Moving forward, I’ve decided not to add anything to the reverse osmosis water in the reservoir. Instead, I’ll hand-water once a week to provide special nutrients. This explains why the plant looks so droopy at the moment—she’s thirsty, and the soil has started drying out due to the system being unplugged. But this will be resolved in the coming hours. I also have to add the Green House Feeding BioBloom Fertilizer today.

####Please do read the disclaimer in the first entry! 01/07/24 Short facts: - 58cm high - VPD @ 0.8 - Light @80% so most leaves are exposed to 500 - 960 ppfd - Did some LST - Using some colloidal silver on two branches --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- She is still growing and has reached a height of 58cm, although she’s now leaning more toward the center of the light. 😀 The flowers are stunning to look at right now, and they’re getting bigger, so she’ll likely be a high yielder. She already has a lovely aroma. Honestly, I’d be heartbroken if I couldn’t get some seeds from her. I’ve done some additional LST to encourage the branches to spread outward a bit more. I’m still having issues with the Blumats, specifically with the drippers. I think they’re just too much, so I plan to reduce them to two drippers per sensor in the coming days. I’ve noticed that she really thrives in very moist soil and doesn’t like it when the soil gets too dry. It’s interesting because, typically, cannabis prefers moderately moist soil. I’m still spraying the two branches with colloidal silver, but there’s no sign of pollen sacs developing yet. From what I understand, it can take up to 21 days. I hope the solution I’m using is still effective!

The flowers are getting bigger and turning a much darker red. I’ve ordered new colloidal silver and am still spraying, but so far, there’s been no effect. I plan to continue spraying for the next two weeks. If there’s still no effect after that, I’ll stop. It’s quite sad because I really like how she’s growing, looking, and smelling. I still hope my attempts will be successful!

Because of this, I have used two mineral fertilizers and added about 10g of BioBloom. I hope this will stop the decline. Spraying the plant with colloidal silver still hasn’t had any effect, so my plan to get pollen and seeds is probably going to fail. I’ll continue trying this in the upcoming week, but then I plan to stop. The flowers are developing further and getting bigger, with a lot of new white hairs appearing this week. She’s also starting to foxtail. Personally, I don’t like foxtailing because it looks quite weird.

Many pollen sacs are developing, and I hope they will be ready within a week. Buying a new spray was the right decision because, with the new one, it took less than two weeks for the pollen sacs to appear. However, the leaves are looking worse now—some are almost 70% dead. I still hope she will make it so the seeds can fully develop. I planted the Lemon Cherry Cookies much earlier than the other two plants to avoid pollinating Slurricane and 1:Walt. However, due to the delay, both are already in flower, so they will end up with some seeds. Maybe one of the crosses will turn out to be something special! 😂

It doesn’t look like the male flowers are producing any pollen. So maybe my experiment failed, or does it just need more time?

There is pollen, so I have probably already pollinated the other two plants. 😃 I think I’ll give her two more weeks, and then I’ll cut off the male branches.

####Please read the disclaimer in the first entry! 02/18/25 - Short Facts: - VPD @ 1.2, but normally it doesn’t get better than 1.0 - Light @ 70%, decreased by 10% - Bought a small heater, so the temperature is finally stable --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So, I bought a heater because it just got too cold this week. It was -10 degrees outside at night, which is quite cold. As a result, my cellar got chilly. I set the heater to 23 degrees, and it’s keeping the room at a stable temperature. It actually doesn’t need to be on that often. With this little device (Philips 3000 heater), everything is fine now. I was also able to decrease the temperature of the heat mats inside the grow tent. With the heater, the temperature in the grow tent now stays between 22 and 25 degrees. As you might see in the pictures, the plant definitely isn’t looking good anymore. She is basically near the end. I have to collect the pollen this week and freeze it. I really don’t think she’s going to produce any seeds—I think the pollen just appeared too late. So freezing is the only option. That way, I can use it in the summer to hopefully pollinate some other LCC. I thought about cutting her down soon, but honestly, I’ll give her a few more weeks. Maybe I’ll get lucky and find some seeds?

####Please read the disclaimer in the first entry! 02/25/25 - Short Facts: - VPD @ 1.2, but normally it doesn’t get better than 1.1 - Light @ 70%, decreased by 10% - Cut down the branches with the pollen, to harvest the pollen --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I cut off the male parts of the plant and am still drying them a bit. Once they’re dry, I’ll harvest the pollen and store it in the freezer. I didn’t want to risk pollinating my other plants more than they already are. In my next entry, I’ll show you some pictures and explain how I harvested the pollen. Other than that, nothing special happened.
