So far so good.
1/8/19
Began germinating seeds in wet paper towels in zip lock bags. 3 seeds of each at noon.
1/10/19
Transferred budding seeds to rapid rooters. 24 hours of dark until stalks emerge.
3 seedlings of each strain. Tangie'matic, Gorilla Glue, and grapefruit.
1/13/19
Transferred plants to hydro system. 25.5 gallons of water.
One of my grapefruit phenotypes, looks a little rough. I doubt it is nutrient burn at these low levels. PH has been consistent too. Seems to be taking care of itself.
I lowered my light. The plants LUV it. My troubled Grapefruit has not gotten any worse. Only better. No more mottled leaves. It seems to have stunted its growth a bit. This plant seems to be 2 or 3 days behind the others. No big deal.
Decided to add Diamond Nectar to my nutrients. Also built a Scrog out of 1/2" PVC pipe.
My tall Tangie still has super droopy leaves. I'm guessing it has to do with being closer to the grow lights. I did some LST to try to even out all the heights. We'll see what happens.
Finally caught up to real time on this grow journal. I'll start Week 7 tomorrow, 2/18/19.
That one Tangie is super wilty. It seems to have the best buds on it though for now. Counted 51 buds on the plants. I'm curious how that number will change. I may do some very slight defoliation to bring the bud sites out of the shadows.
The gorilla glue is still growing tall. I've about run out of vertical space. Temperatures have really dropped outside. Hard to keep the plants warm enough, but so far so good. The tangy still has super droopy leaves, but the buds forming look even better than on the other plants. I guess we'll see.
Boy these gorilla glue plants are so tall. I had to up my lighting position to the highest my room allows. Hope it's high enough. The buds are really forming up nicely. Very happy with my moving LED light. It really helps the light penetrate the nooks and crannies and reach otherwise hidden buds. The smell is still pretty mild, but I am running filtered ventilation.
Buds on top are fattening up nicely. Next grow I'll defoliate a lot more and see how that goes. Clearly need more light penetration one way or the other.
Almost ready. I'm going to harvest the GG plant that is taking over everything first. Then give the other plants a week to grow without the big plant in their way. Looking good.
This strain was a huge success. Particularly one of these 2 strains that really took over. I'm going to try to replicate to the other plants in my next grow what I did with the one plant (6.5 ounces of dry bud)
