Popped Moon Beam directly into FFOF 5 gallon fabric pot. My intention was to presoak the medium however I forgot, next time I will not forget! Lights all the way up at 100% for the entire grow. 24hr light cycle for 1st week and then 20/4 cycle. I am using Spider Farmers 2 pot autopot system. 13.2 Gallon reservoir PH set to 6.0-6.5 in all organic living soil using organic cal-mag at 5ml/gallon. I turn the autopots on immediately and top water for the first week or two just to get the top soil wet. I use RO water. Seed was put into soil on 11/26 and sprouted through the top on 11/29. So although germination started the 26th, Day 1 for me is when they sprout, so 11/29 is official Day 1. Only nutrients are the FFOF soil they will absorb for the first 3-4 weeks and cal-mag as stated above in the reservoir of the autopots. I will dry amend around day 21-25, using all purpose, power bloom, worm castings, and recharge on top to water it in with.
So we had quite a bit this week, we observed the pistils coming in and identified her sex. Also we started a second moon beam because an auto cheese just didnt take well to the FFOF along with me overwatering and the autopots being on from the jump. I only want strong genetics and if they dont make it , well im not gonna waste energy and time and money. Yes this is my first grow, yes i am still learning and will for ever to come. However i am knowledgeable in the field of cannabis. So we shall see what happens!
Day 22, top dressed the living soil with Gaia Green dry amendments. Used Gaia Green all purpose 4-4-4, Gaia Green worm castings, and Gaia Green power bloom. Watered from the top with some recharged water and a little bit with my vivosun sprayer. Since she showed her sex and I see some white pistils, thought it was the appropriate time to top dress.
Started some LST after topping it a week ago. Bent some branches down to expose bud sites and removed 4 fan leaves that were covering bud sites, two from the top and two from the bottom middle. Recharge 2x/wk and top watered the dry amendments throughout the week. There is a real gassy burnt rubber skunk smell coming from the tent now and I love it. Pistils are really starting to spread and develop. I installed the trellis net 4"-5" above the top of the bent canopy. Over the next few days I will be constantly readjusting the stakes to keep the main stems bent down under the trellis. Once this week ends, I will spend next week beginning their tucking under the trellis to try and fill each square with a bud site.
Bent the main stalks a little with stakes to try and level off the canopy. Defoliated 18 leaves over the course of a week and she responded by taking off and growing more leaves! Bud sites starting to develop and pistils exploding everywhere! Recharge 2x/wk
Buds started getting bigger, pistils started turning orange/brown on some of the tips. Smell really getting stronger of burnt rubber and a road killed skunk. She recovered nicely from the heavy defoliation done at the beginning of the week. Currently 14" tall and not seeming to be stretching vertically anymore.
Was a busy week, some excessive defoliating and cleaning the autopot bases from the prior week stripped her of nutrients she needed. Next time I won't take so many leaves or clean the autopot base mid-grow. After reamending the soil because she was telling me she needed more nutrients, she bounced back nicely. Some leaves showed discoloration, but not too concerned as she's looking healthy. I got rid of some of the sickly-looking leaves.
She's getting close. Just been letting her do her own thing before I harvest her. Planning a partial harvest next week and then gonna let the lower sites finish with the supplemental lights from ACI I have coming next week. Trichomes have turned from clear to milky over the last two weeks. I will harvest top sites next week at mostly milky and maybe some partial ambers. I will harvest the bottoms at around 25-35% amber. Have been pulling the dead/dying leaves away from the buds so they don't die inside the plant and rot.
Harvest went great, she's drying and curing as it was a partial harvest. I've got 4 grams dried and curing in a grove bag for sampling over the next 6-8 weeks. It was 9 grams going in wet and I dried it for 4 days at 60/60 in a drying rack using the OG spin motor to rotate the dry rack. I've got 60 grams wet drying in the 3x3 at 60F/60RH going to go for 7-10 days on this dry and go based off water moisture level. I presume that once I'm down to around 15-20 grams of dried weight I should be good as this will be about 20-30% of the wet weight. Should end up with about 20-25 Grams in total of dry product.
