I ended my diary last week with a bit of fear. I had left the seeds in the water for 6 (!) days before planting them out. With the hustle and bustle of Christmas, I had lost sight of the seeds. And because the sprouts were still so small, I thought I would leave them in the glass of water for a few more days. Until I read that the seeds should not be left in water for too long because they could then suffer from a lack of oxygen, which could mean the end of the seeds. Moreover, I read that I should change the water daily, while I had only done that once on day 4. So you can imagine how happy I was that after two days of tension, the seeds that I had entrusted to the soil on day 6, were peeping out of the ground on day 9. By the end of day 9, already ten of the twelve seedlings succeeded to emerge from the ground. On day10 eleven of the twelve seeds have made it ! So I have learned something new : Apparently, seeds can survive in water for quite a long time, and even if you only change the water once a week, the seeds can still survive just fine. DAY10 : I lowered the lamp a bit because the seedlings started to stretch. This caused the humidity to drop a bit, so I put the hoods of my AutoPot X over the seedlings (see last photo).
