I had a very rough start to this grow. I ended up saving 4 out of 7 seedlings which isnt horrible but I'm used to an almost 100% germination rate so this was troubling. I used a humidity dome for the first time and I watered too much in combination with excess humidity which was terrible and I had mixed my vermiculite about 25/75 to a seed starting mix when I should've pushed closer to 50/50 for drainage. Learned to still use the humidity dome, water less, wipe out the dome daily, open the vents and eventually start taking it off for a bit at a time. I had a heat mat underneath set at 78f and the humidity was showing 75% average. One of the seedlings that survived was a total goner but it pulled through! Sprinkled mono and ortho silicate or "Pyro Clay" around the base of all new seedlings to prevent any kind of molding, damping off or rot type issues. I'm doing this diary on my 4 primary Dos-si-dos from Canuk but I will also be growing out another 1 Canuk cookies, 1 Pure kush and a Bubba kush CBD from Dinafem. I'll throw occasional bud pics in. I will be attempting to find a mother from the Dos-si-dos but I will take clones from every plant just in case i have a winner from one of the others. I've set up a passive exhaust system that you can see In the pictures but it is not running. I'll be waiting until I'm vegging bigger plants to turn it on and for when I have my mother in this tent. When my other plants are finished flower and the Dos-si-dos are ready I will move them into the flower 4x4x72 tent under 2 1200w bestva blurple leds. Pulling wall watts of approximately 500.

This grow started off a little rocky but now it seems everything is working out :) I had a few deaths from my seedlings. I used a humidity dome for the first time and I think I had way too much moisture in the dome that caused fungal and/or rot problems but now its behind me and I've learned my lessons. I managed to save 4 out of 7 Dos-si-dos phenos from my dome disaster. 3 are doing very well and were transplanted this evening as the roots were exploding and they couldn't wait. Added some mychorizzae in with the transplants and used fox farm forest mix soil. Waiting a bit longer to transplant the other Dos-si-dos pheno (#3) that was at deaths door and came back, and the pure kush and canuk dookies phenos. Added these in to make sure I had a full tent. This grow I've decided to focus a large amount of my attention on the roots of my plants. The last grow went well but I used air pruning pots and never really saw roots so I'm sure theres room for improvement. This time I'm focusing on the transplants at the correct time, adding mychorizzae, using voodoo juice at proper times and using air pruning pots again. Humidity was not an easy one for me too figure out. I live in Ontario, Canada and winter can be very dry(10% in my house) so I needed to add a full home humidifier and then I added a personal humidifier intothe veg and propagation tent to reach the higher humidity levels. Flower tent maintains between 45-55% and veg is between 65-80%. I had all my babies under a t5 but since transplanting I have switched Dos-si-dos #1,2,4 under a viparspectra 300w dimmable and the rest are still under t5. As of now i dont have the exhaust to the tent on but I do have passive setup for the veg tent that I will begin to run when everything is ready.

This week went well! The work I've put into my roots is paying off big time. My roots are exploding and so are my plants. I have the weeks incorrectly labelled as my first week I made some mistakes so were actually one week behind. This is week day 21 for the Dos-si-dos and day 16 for the Canuk cookies and Pure kush. I harvested my first crop last night and when I dumped out my old pots I confirmed what I had already believed was wrong. My roots were weak and very small. I didnt pay enough attention to humidity in my first grow vegetative stage, I didnt do transplants properly, I didnt use mychorizzae etc. This time around I have learned from my mistakes and am doing these things properly already resulting in MUCH larger and healthier root systems. I expect a much better yield because of this. Soon I will need to take clones from all of my plants, or at least two weeks before flower, so that i can keep a mother for some indoor grows and this summers outdoor. I haven't worked with clones but I've done countless hours of research so I hope that it pays off. I dont have a ton of space in the 4x4 tent so I can't let the plants get to big so I'm hoping I can balance this and I'm hoping I'll be able to manage the clones long enough in my 24x36x53 propagation tent to find out which will be my mother. I had some interesting mutations from the Dos-si-dos that I didnt see at all from the pure kush and Canuk cookies from Canuk. I haven't seen anything like these before so I really hope it's nothing to worry about and doesnt indicate inferiority in any way. Using my smaller humidifer in my veg tent and my large humidifer outside, I am able to maintain the humidity at 45-50% in my flower tent and 60-65 % and sometimes slightly higher in veg tent during winter months. My plants seem much happier with healthy amounts of humidity. I'm keeping steady airflow with my oscillating fan but I haven't turned on the exhaust fan quite yet, I'm thinking this weekend maybe

What's your opinion on pruning off the 5th node and the top 4 out of 12 inches of growth? I have 2 plants growing too fast and I believe this would remedy it. I dont want to hurt them, but I dont need a super uneven canopy. Pruning just the top hasn't slowed it down enough

Nothing wrong with topping at the 5th node. Now with that said 4in. to take of most likey will add some stress it is doable tho especially when they are healthy like your plants look. I have done it before with mixed results some plants had no problem some got stressed but made it fine. You can always take like the top 2in off and do some HST or LST to keep the canopy even just be careful to not snap anything. or you could just try the LST or HST a not top. A lot of it is personal preference. like for example I prefer to do LST or HST instead of keep topping. Once have already topped a plant once or twice i usually don't like to top more than twice. so that's why I prefer to do bending an what not after the topping if i still need to control the canopy height or fill in spaces. another thing you can try to slow down the vertical growth is to give the top of the stem a little pinch not enough to damage the skin of the plant but just enough to where it squishes the stem a tiny bit and yes it can stress it out a lil but no more than topping if done right. the idea behind it is that once you do it the plant will focus on healing that spot instead of vertical growth and most of the time the stem grows back thicker/tougher than before. good luck!. Hope this helps and if you got any other ?'s just shoot me a message👍 Happy Growing HoffGuyy

Another good week has come and gone. Everything seems to be much healthier than my last grows vegetative stage. I have proper humidity which I definitely didnt have before and I have a proper root system which I definitely did not have before. I'm keeping my hopes high for this grow and am excited to see it to the end. I had to rush transplant the first three Dos-si-dos, #'s 1,2, and 4. I noticed the roots were busting out the bottom hole after only about 8 days. I was somewhat worried at first about a root bound plant as I haven't had this issue before and I've really increased my root growth this time around. After transplant the plants seem to be even more healthy so I assume I just had a good root ball. I still maybe dont fully understand the difference between a solid root ball and root bound plants. The roots made up a large majority of the bottom of the pot but it didnt look like they had become tangled or had begun growing back into themselves. My favourite plants so far are the 4 smaller ones and my least favourite are the two large ones. Maybe it has to do with my experience in the past with outdoor plants with big leaves like that. I always found there was some correlation between super large fat fan leaves and crap plants. Hopefully I am wrong!! The smaller 4 however, Dos-si-dos #3 and 2, the pure kush and canuk cookies are looking like my kind of plant! Nice, stalky, bushier growth with more perfected smaller leaves. It seems so far that I have 3 different phenos of Dos-si-dos. # 1 and 4 are the tall fat leaved phenos and then 2 and 3 are smaller bushier phenos. All 4 are putting off a weak smell already. My last flower I didnt have both LEDs so that should be a nice change. Hopefully it will give me a better a yield. I installed some rebar around the outside of the tent so that the negative pressure didnt hold the side in. I noticed on my last flower that with the exhaust on I basically had a 3x3 instead of 4x4. It is working excellent with rebar. Was a little difficult to rig up but it can definitely be done!

Wow... I do not have time for that. I wrote out so much information and uploaded my pictures twice. First I just lost the pictures but the second time I lost everything I wrote. Apparently I will be writing and saving everything in a different program before copying and pasting it to the app. I dont even remember half of what I got talking about. First off, this week has been very interesting. I dont know at this point if I can say I'm going to be happy with this strain. The first two I grew from Canuk, Canuk cookies and Pure kush were absolutely beautiful plants. The thing about them is they were beautiful in veg and all the way through the flower. These plants have been mutated and not growing the way I hoped, which Is bushy with numerous small leaves. Instead I got enough fat leaves you can count them.(phenos 1 and 4) Then the second pheno (2 and 3) were looking great until I had a completely unexpected issue. The other day I noticed that Dos-si-dos # 2 and 3 had started to develop a large quantity of white hairs. Because of the way it has been stretching I should have already known but I think I was just being hopeful that it was a preflower. After today I can say that these are definitely flowering and that really ticks me off. At this point they've been flowering for long enough I didnt get to use my bud ignitor which sucks because that stuff works so well and I'll probably have diminished yields because of the way I pruned the stupid things 2 weeks before they started to flower. So assuming they have stretched I've got some pretty small plants. I had pruned one of the two flowering phenos once, I pruned #1 and 4 twice and i just fimmed Canuk cookies and Pure kush on exactly day 28 and will be taking them into the veg tent for a couple more weeks while I start the four Dos-si-dos phenos into flower tomorrow or Friday night and they will be at day 35 or 36 of veg. I was so happy with my first grows quality and since I've made some big, good changes this round, I'm hoping I can get even better quality! I got super lucky and have the really nice pure kush pheno again and the Canuk cookies looks like it might be the nicest one yet! Hard to say if you can tell in veg how a plant will do in flower but so far for me, I see a correlation between perfect leaf structure and beautiful plants. Having grown outdoor, i have yet to have a terribly ugly plant come out beautiful in flower. Usually ugly stays ugly in my opinion and thats what scares me about these Dos-si-dos. Going to keep my fingers crossed. Decided this time I probably won't use my scrog net. It was nice to hold up some of the buds in later flower but it restricts movement way too much and its nice to be able to just move your plants around so they get different light or different airflow or whatever at different times. Thinking about trying out autoflower for my next grow. Haven't decided yet but I'll be making my decision by this Sunday. By the way if anyone needs any seeds from Canuk I am positive they will have a 50% off sale on Sunday. Was thinking about trying out Mephisto genetics. I would like to grow something beautiful if I'm going to autoflower so that or maybe fast buds... anybody have an opinion on these guys? Hopefully when I flip the lights everything will come together nicely and fat stinky buds with shimmering crystals will start forming!!

My faith in my plants ability to produce good quality buds has improved quite a bit. Flipping them into flower has given them a whole new look that I'm starting to like! First thing, I'll start with Dos-si-dos # 2 and 3. I've yet to grow an autoflower but I'd say I'm 99% positive that they are autoflowers considering they're well into flower at 7 days in and they're both now finished their stretch. I'm sure you'll agree when or if you've seen the pics. I'm not to happy that they're not going to get the amount of light they need but they're pretty small and manageable so I'll keep them around. Dos-si-dos # 2 I topped at the 5th node and it is quite small with larger buds. I'm going to continue to ca them Dos-si-dos even though these two most likely aren't and now I'm not even sure if the others are. Easy way to solve that though in the future. The more I thought about the unlimited amounts of good breeders to choose from the more I realized I'm done with Canuk. They never responded to any of my messages, they're not going to do anything about my 180$ 7 reg fem pack with autos.. so I switched it up but I'll cover that soon. The Canuk cookies and Pure kush are absolutely gorgeous again and I totally should have just made their own diary but you diary and you learn! This time I think they're going to be quite a bit nicer for a few reasons. Last time I had a terrible root system, this time it's good. last time I didnt understand the best nutrient regimen, now I've got a good concept. I've grown them larger this time. I've had a perfect humidity and temperature consistency throughout. I also have more light this grow. I'm probably missing some but in short I'm doing whatever I can to increase yield and improve terpenes and resins. I am waiting a little bit longer until the two plants tops regain strength. I made a first attempt at fimming and in my opinion learned from an inferior teacher. I was basically told to not take to much but in the end I'd rather have taken more. I didnt take enough to the plant just grew it's top back with cut off fan leaves and then I had to top them anyways! If I had of taken too much it would have just been topped so really take more if anything in my opinion. I did some looking for myself and found out what actually needs to be cut inside there (the newest growth tip) so I will attempt it again soon. Really excited for these to flower. Root Bound... no thanks! Realized I pushed it a little too far with some of my plants. First I noticed some odd drooping even after watering and then some little spots that looked like deficiency. Then I realized that the pots were definitely too small after I checked the bottom to see roots coming out and just from the basic size of the plant itself. It had all the telltale signs though and the next day after transplanting it's much happier. so I am transplanting #4 , Canuk cookies and Pure kush and possibly #3 but maybe not. I already transplanted #1 last night from a 7.5 liter air pot to a 12 liter air pot. I am going to go with 12 liter pots for my finishers from now on i think. My local hydro shop told me 7.5 was good for 2-3 feet and after I read 1 gallon per foot so I'm much happier with 12. Purchasing the rest of the pots tomorrow and making the transition. I worked around the base of the plants and got rid of some foliage as well as some dirty useless buds. I dont want to go any higher than I went but any other buds that just aren't going to do anything I get rid of. I think I'd refer to this as a light defoliation less than a lollipop. Only want those A quality buds! Eevrything else is in check! Lights are good even though I want some more lol nutrients are good, mediums good, humidity and temperature/ environment are all in check. For my next couple grows I've made some decisions! For outdoor I'm starting some mothers from Royal Queen seeds. I'll be starting hulkberry and green gelato. Next up I have decided to go with my first autoflowers for my next run! I'm looking for a good yield and I think I can get something nice with a larger number of autos. I'll be growing out Mephistos 3 bears OG as a main strain. Then I'm hoping to try an oasis purple kush and I have a canuk amnesia auto freebie that I might throw in. Going to be fun!

It's been another good week all things considered. The plants are looking nice and healthy and I'm still learning. Took my first clones, finally I think the big Dos-si-dos has finished its stretch thank God, and my pure kush and my Canuk cookies are both some of the nicer phenos for sure which is nice to know. First thing, the Dos-si-dos are all really coming around and at this point I just dont know what to think. The bigger phenos are going to be huge yielders I think. I've pruned them both twice (#1,4) but #4 also had its secondary stems topped. I'm really not a fan of that thin leaf look and I always thought that meant it was a sativa but now I'm not sure what it means... do you think these leaves look sativa?(#1,4) I've seen other plants that are indica dom hybrids and they have thin leaves.. is that just a genotype genetics thing, I dont know yet. Dos-si-dos #2 and 3 finished their flower stretch way too early so I have this drastic difference in height which drives me nuts (and Is partially why I've taken clones from Canuk cookies) but I've added 2 extra lights lol so I'm basically okay because ive got them at 3 different levels and I find a way to work them together while moving them every other day to clean or whatever I need to do and then switch their positions to get light to the other sides of the plants. # 2 has a really beautiful nice fruity smell going and the buds are fattening up. There Is a layer of trichomes forming on the leaves at this point as well. Maybe these 2 will be finished early and ill have more room to manipulate the others. Next thing is the clones. I took my first 3 clones ever and I think I did everything right except for properly trimming the clones and I also took them about 3 or r days after starting flower as it was a Last minute thing. I'm hoping it doesnt take long for them the root and then revert back to veg. I've read some people say that it wont even be a thing so I hope that's true and they just start vegging. I took 3 to make sure that I would have extra in case one didnt pull through and because I had to trim those spots anyways. I used some gel with IBA I believe and a disposable scalpel. I cut it and then popped them in distilled water immediately, then I took them and cut them to where I wanted them at an angle and dipped in the gel and then into peat pucks sitting in perlite. I've got a 26w CFL on them...I dont know if its CFL though for sure because I haven't really figured out those lights yet or what they are lol. It's full spectrum though. I've got it in the dome and I've got the heat mat set to 77f. The clones are 4 days in now and I'm rooting for them ;) I'll be using them for a clone run and for outdoor this season. For the clone run I was thinking of doing a side by side with green planet and advanced nutrients lineups to see how close they are because I'd like to use green planet. I have their terpinator and Rezin right now that I'll be using some of for my outdoor and for my indoor grows after. In conclusion, things are going very well but I just wish that i had more space and i could grow wayyy more. I love this stuff so much I could do this everyday for the rest of my life. Which Is why I plan to go back to school next year for horticultural technician in B.C so that I can start my career in legal marijuana, hopefully not with a stupid huge warehouse company. I want to work with people who are trying to grow legendary beautiful buds in smaller controlled batches. I really dont wanna make more money for, or work for, people who are going to treat weed like its something on a process line.. that's so boring and not creative at all. I want to grow things exotic and different, and always keep learning new things and maybe breeding strains. So far Canadian marijuana scene is heading towards a monopoly and I think that sucks!

This week was a very rough one. Not for the basic health and growth of my plants but a rough week for us as marijuana growers United. In Ontario, Canada it is currently legal to grow 4 marijuana plants for your own personal recreational or medical marijuana. I am not obligated to tell my landlord about my marijuana and chose not too because hes a talkative type who would tell everybody he spoke too about it which I would still prefer not to happen even though it's legal. When I was gone to work one day, like he knows I do everyday through the week religiously, he came into my house unannounced, went into my bedroom, opened my tent during lights off in flower!! Then proceeded to evict me not before trying to threaten me with court/legal problems and immediate eviction. I guess he didnt think I would figure everything out but I did. I read everything i could about the landlord tenant act and my rights to grow marijiuana, didnt sleep or eat for two nights though because I couldnt even think about those things. After I told him off he tried to backpedal realizing how much I COULD do to cause him problems and now i will be left alone until I find my new place for when these plants finish :) I'm sure I'll be much happier somewhere else! Theres more too it that I'm not going to get into because I could go on forever but everything he did was illegal or just wrong so I dont feel bad about putting him in his place for being an a-hole. Unfortunately people are still living in the past about marijuana and many people haven't accepted its legality here. They're going to have too :) Dos-si-dos 1 and 4 are starting to really come together. #1 is tall but after I've pruned it up properly and now that it has more space its getting a load of light everywhere and its developing large colas. Weak smells coming off both still. #4 is much leafier than #1 and #4 is also much stalkier with a shorter thicker bud structure. I feel bad for having lost faith in my plants but I was really let down by Canuks mix up with the autoflowers. Seeing as how the autos were starting to look beautiful with a very dense structure and this epic fruity kushy smell I'm sure theres something interesting to come from 1 and 4. Canuk cookies and pure Kush are a week behind in flower but they are finishing up their stretch now and both of them are the nice phenos I had from last run. I think that I just really love the indica structure of these plants and thats why I was so weird about the growth from the Dos-si-dos. Nice smells coming from both plants and they're getting TONS of light. These two are under more than double the light I used in the first grow on 4 plants instead of 2. Humidity and temperature has been great all the way through. I'm really hoping that my plants weren't affected at all by the assholes opening the tent, MULTIPLE times. My room doesnt get very bright during the day so I think I'm okay but if I'm not hes definitley not getting 1150$ from me for next months rent. Soon I'm going to have to switch to dehumidifier and air conditioner! Its starting to get warm here, springs in the air. For my next grow I have ordered 4 very special clones of girl scout cookies. I am very excited because ive never been able to get real quality clones from a huge grow before. Apparently they select their mothers from hundreds of phenos :) very excited to do a clone run. **my first clones died but I know exactly what I did wrong and will change it for next cuttings. I sprayed the bases of the peat way too much thinking they needed more moisture but I believe I washed off the root gel and rotted out the stems! Everything else was good but I'll trim the next ones properly and get clones before flower.

What are some good preventative measures besides the obvious (being clean, no outside stuff inside etc) to keep pests at bay? I have yet to deal with bugs but I'd love to know a method of prevention that's close to fool proof. I dont want them :)

You can use Cannacure, its a nice product, to prevent pests and so on. It contains Neemoil too, and some benefical additives. Its very economic and easy to use ( they say even to a flowering plant. ) You can grow "company plants" like marigold, geanieum, basil ( all stinky stufff) Ihave been using nictotine tsolutions, neemoil solutions, plants..................................................https://www.growbarato.net/en/canna/118-cannacure-spray-1l-plant-protector.html#/capacity-spray_750ml

It's been a good week. No issues from my landlord and the plants are looking good! I'm thinking the Dos-si-dos, especially #1 are going to have longer flowering times. Both have just started to develop their trichomes and theyre just starting to get a distinctive smell at the end of their 4th week. A nice fruity smell just like the autos had! I also think they both have the potential to have a large yield if I can get those colas to swell up nicely. I've had a bunch of people tell me they've seen plants they didnt like at all end up being the best of the bunch so maybe that's what my situation will end up as. No nutrient deficiencies or excesses throughout their life cycle so far but I did have some root bound issues right before flowering which I believe caused a deficiency look to some of the leaves. Both plants are getting more than optimal light and I pruned all the lowest grade flowers out at the bottoms. I wouldnt exactly call it a lollipop because I didnt want to take too much out. Canuk cookies and Pure kush are totally beautiful again! These two strains are definitely recommended from Canuk. The Pure kush is the nice pheno I had from the last run and crossing my fingers it looks even nicer this time. That might have to do with how much better I've taken care of them on this grow but either way it's a stronger nicer plant that's already developing kush smells and a nice layer of trichs. The Cookies is not the hard small indica I wanted from last run but both phenos were still gorgeous I just had some excess issues with the same pheno I have now. This time however I have not had these issues because I've learned how to better target my dissolved solids and to take it easy on some nutrients lol Cookies is also developing a nice smell and heavy trichs for this time in its life cycle. Both look like they're going to give me a nice yield of quality buds. I've been making some calls and theres a good possibility I will be going to get my medical liscense to grow soon. If I get that I'll be able to grow what I would like to grow (much more) and my landlords in the future, can't say a thing legally. Obviously until I just buy my own place but that's still a little ways off because I'm going back to school first! This would be awesome!

Unfortunately I am still learning and added a bit too hot of a nutrient solution to my plants. Pure kush and Canuk cookies held out really well, Canuk cookies almost not being burnt at all. But Dos-si-dos #1 and 4 took some pretty heavy tip burn. I doubt it will effect their overall quality much. I flushed the plants and then started back with a lower dose and kicked out the culprit. Other than that everything is going well!

This week was horribly busy for me at work and in life so I didnt get time to update last week. I still took pics so that I could just post it later. Everything seems to be going really well. Only big thing I wish I could've done differently was not add too many nutes and get tip burn. Next grow I will not do this!! Another big change for my next grow though as well, I'll be adding 2-4 4 ft LED strip lights around the sides of my plants. At this point it looks like I'll be getting more than double the yield of my previous grow which is nice! Quality of the flower is similar looking at the moment but I think it will turn out slightly better in that category as well

Dos-si-dos week 8 Canuks Dos-si-dos is looking like it's going to be a fairly long flower. All the hairs are still white on both plants and they're still pushing out new growth on the buds. Dos-si-dos #1 is definitley the winner. Its glistening with trichomes and the buds are a fat sticky mess. Some of the leaves look like they're turning a dark shade of red. Dos-si-dos #4 has fast pop can + size buds and has a similar smell but looks much different. I'm hoping for close to a half lb from these 2. Canuk cookies is totally beautiful again but it's looking like it's a lower yielding pheno. On my first run I had two phenos, 1 was short and stout and the entire plant was fat gorgeous nugs, high yield. The second was Lankier with basically the exact same buds but a much lower yielding plant. Fat nugs on the tops and then smaller and smaller to the bottom. It was my first grow indoors so I didnt think to jump on a mother but I think in the future I'm going to regret that. It was stupid beautiful and it would be super easy to work with because of the size and shape. Canuk cookies is starting to change to purple slowly as I've began dropping night time temperatures slightly. Pure kush is looking like a mix of the two phenos I had on my first run. Unfortunately it has the lower yielding trait but its producing some really nice sticky crystally buds and all the leaves are changing to purple. Another good week!
