once sprouted they went into 2 inch rockwool cubes on a heating pad, they germinated quickly - quicker than seeds only a few months old; once a root is visible on the bottom of the cube they will go into the aerocloner until ready for DWC
EC=1091; two gallons of Heavy 16 Seedling and 4 mL Green Sensation to finish amending the 2 gallons of water
I was happy with the water for the seedlings after adding the first 4 mL of Green Sensation. I only intend to have the girls familiar with the blend as from my understanding the Green Sensation is most impactful following pre-flower.
solution swap today, EC = 1525; one gallon of Heavy 16 Veg Week 1 and 8 mL Green Sensation to finish amending the 2 gallons of water
within the next week the girls will be moving from the aeroponic cloner to their RDWC flowering sites
above and EC = 1361 were initial values for the RDWC; this included four gallons of Heavy 16 Veg Week 1, 32 mL Green Sensation, and 5 mL pH down to finish amending the ~10 gallons of water
they were transplanted on 01/20; on 01/24 an additional 8 mL Green Sensation and 5 mL pH down were added to the solution bringing the values to pH = 6.85, 787 ppm, EC = 1584
above and EC = 1473 were initial values for the RDWC; the solution was topped off and three gallons of Heavy 16 Flower Week 1 and 12 mL Green Sensation were used to finish amending the ~10 gallons of water bringing the values to pH = 6.84, 700 ppm, EC = 1440
a cutting of the plant on the far right was taken due to the root growth and more lush green coloring relative to the other ladies whilst every variable has been held constant with the girls
the girls will get a trimming in the next few days and a solution change/be flipped to flower next week
full solution swap included four gallons of Heavy 16 Flower Week 1 and 12 mL Green Sensation to amend the ~10 gallons of water; EC = 2048
flipped 2/7; will let them enter the netting naturally with a major defoliation in approximately 3 weeks
four gallons of Heavy 16 Flower Week 2, 12 mL Green Sensation, and 5 mL pH down to amend the topped off solution
approximately 2 weeks before a major defoliation
full solution swap, four gallons of Heavy 16 Flower Week 3 and 12 mL Green Sensation used to amend the solution
approximately 1 week before a major defoliation; starting next week I will ramp up the Green Sensation and start decreasing the Heavy 16 line additives/boosters in accordance with my understanding of the use instructions; lights will be turned up and height adjusted for the average canopy height at the conclusion of preflower
full solution swap, four gallons of Heavy 16 Flower Week 4 (without Prime or Fire) and 32 mL Green Sensation used to amend the solution
major defoliation 2/28, the trimmings will be mulched into the soil slotted for a tomato planter this Spring
canopy is essentially set and I am happy with it despite the main cola from each of the three plants being slightly above the canopy, this is simply the tradeoff for stretching the girls into flower as is standard for my tents
so far the Green Sensation has been a pleasure to work with
+ it has great buffering capabilities I've noticed
+ the girls enjoy it, in fact the bushiness of these ladies has been mildly triggering while the defoliation was pending
- nervous about the pivot from my normal additives/boosters as my routine is something I am comfortable adjusting in real-time, whereas if these girls start to have a bad time with the Green Sensation I'll be in uncharted waters 🙏
the seeds from Zamnesia are also turning out quite nice, the subtle sweetness of the foliage is already giving undertones of the profile to come
full solution swap; 4 mL Heavy 16 Roots, 10 mL Heavy 16 Finish, 30 mL Heavy 16 Bud A, 30 mL Heavy 16 Bud B, 40 mL Green Sensation, and ~20 mL pH down used to amend the solution
I don't usually have to deal with burning in hydro, compared to my soil past. These girls are large, with enormous root systems displacing solution in the flowering sites. This effectively reduces the system volume for nutrient solution by a substantial amount. Between that and the thirst of these ladies, the swings in solution from water uptake is discernable. I may turn the lights down slightly to temper the water uptake, otherwise I fear the next few weeks may be a high burn risk.
plan is to leave the canopy as is for ~2 more weeks, at which point I'll lollipop them to a large extent and begin a 2 week nutrient sunset/flush routine (with the option to likely postpone the flush a week or so)
this has been a busy week for my Eternity Cup grow
1. tap water in my region has been running hot due to acid rain, which at this point is fabulous coming out at 6.5 on the dot but was a pain earlier this week
2. my middle girl had a few hours of stress, as I didn't tend to my solution daily knowing how lean of margins I had (this resulted in about 12 hours still in acceptable range but running acidic enough to aggravate absorption for a few one-off nutrients; sadly this resulted in a flush mid-flower, if this happened in a week or two I would have left it and rode it out but alas it needed resolved
3. my understanding of the Plagron Green Sensation use instructions have changed slightly, where I was under the impression it was a replacement for supplements/additive lines I now understand it also covers base lines, thusly after the flush I applied this new understanding when amending the solution
4. found an intersex site on one of my girls
full solution swap, water at 6.5 in, 20 mL Plagron Green Sensation and 2 gallons Heavy 16 Flower Week 5
based on where I feel the plants are at...current timeline is to lollipop 3/21, sunset nutrients with the last feeding 3/28, start my flush 4/7, and harvest somewhere between 4/14-4/21; must say I am still excited for this crop, my girls have a tropical rotten-lemon-heavy sweetness to the flower sites
full solution swap, water at 6.5 in, 24 mL Plagron Green Sensation and 2 gallons Heavy 16 Flower Week 6ish used to amend the solution
the girls were lollipop'ed today to allow deeper light penetration into the canopy now that the bud sites are entering their final phases of development
overall, the two girls on the left (these match the classically sativa appearing pheno) are light feeders who don't like much stress with training or trimming which is not really my style of plant while the girl on the far right (the more indica appearing pheno) is a much heavier feeder yet does not like a high light intensity which also isn't my style. for these reasons, as of now I do plan on culling my runtz mother clone of the indica leaning pheno. A fool's errand tyrying to keep all three of these girls optimal in the same solutions/enviornment.
given the way the girls are developing, the anticipated timeline has changed once again. the current timeline is:
3/21 - sunset nutrients and lollipop
3/28 - begin flush
4/14 - target harvest date
@MonyetDiablero, haha thanks, I am certainly looking forward to this crop getting pulled. the girls are rather temperamental for my tastes but they are def smelling exotic
@MonyetDiablero, Thanks! That is certainly a possibility - they had more stress than I intended this week, with a 12 hour period of running hot, specifically falling out of range for Cal/Mag and even into a range where Mo absorption is aggravated. I am on the fence as to the cause. That is essentially where I left the DMs with Patricia.
On one hand: there are other diaries with intersex flowers and we know any mock-up of the licensed RuntZ is going to be heavily inbred.
On the other hand: 12 hours isn't that long of a time and IME I only get intersex flowers from tester-quality seeds or when a breeding project is ongoing (that is a weird topic, but I notice unstable genetics tend to display intersex flowers when in proximity to a male - perhaps a hormone or pheromonal type interaction)
Still feeling good about this crop 👽
@ATLien415, it's a good thing to let the breeder know , however I had this in the past because I had stressed the strain to much . But damn these colors are insane🙌🙌🙌
@ATLien415, hmm, this is not what we like to see, and defenately not when you have an entire tent full other plants. did the plant had any stress? And is it only this one? Please send me as much info in a private message as possible. I am documenting everything I can, to make sure we can prevent this in the future. Thanks for letting me know! This is exacly what we like, so we can try to find the problems and finaly make sure we can offer the best seeds! 💙!
