Introduction - Week 02 Summary - Ensign's log, stardate 9972.8, Ensign is back with another grow log! Feeling absolutely irie and am stoked to grow out some new genetics! Going to attempt to grow some ‘Gorilla Goat’ from ‘Irie Genetics!’ The lineage is ‘Gorilla Glue #4’ and ‘Golden Goat.’ These seeds are feminized photoperiodic. Since I’m currently growing perpetually, this grow log will be started in week 2 of veg. Technically this is beginning the 3rd week from seed. Both week 0 and 1 are covered in my last grow log cycle. Already have to say that these genetics have definite signs of vigor! Both seeds were fully rooted in solo cups within the first week of growth! Also the difference in size from the beginning of the week to the end of the week is just incredible! Also for this grow cycle, plan to flower out two ‘Garlic Budder’ clones (‘Humboldt Seeds Co’) from a previous cycle. These were cut from the vegging mother plants just after the Gorilla Goat seeds were started. Anyways, this week was mainly tending to the 3x3 veg tent. Plan to start resetting the 4x4 tent and begin transplanting soon. Onwards Ensign! Engage! This is probably because of the rough start in the cotton pad (damnit Ensign). --- Placed her into the front 5-gallon fabric pot. - [20:25]: Next was the Garlic Budder OG#1 pheno. --- Woah! Root structure looks a lot different, but wow roots have exploded! --- Placed her into the middle 5-gallon Grassroots fabric pot. - [20:28]: Now for the Garlic Budder OG#2 pheno. --- Roots look even better than the first pheno! Wow! --- Placed her into the back 5-gallon fabric pot. --- All of the plants today were stuck in their solo cups so this could be a sign of good health? Or old cups? I dunno. --- Anyways! - [20:36]: Using some BuildASoil Organic Barley Straw, ------ Covered the top soil of each pot with straw. --- Added a bit more than I usually do and made sure to completely cover all visible soil. - [20:55]: Added the Ecowitt soil meters into the 5-gallon pots. --- Firmly pressed each meter in as deep as it would go. --- Looking good! Will sync and rename the soil sensors later. --- Time to water! --- Going to give 4 cups of wetting solution each for the initial transplant watering. - [21:13]: Filled a pitcher with 16 cups of RO water. --- Added 1/16tsp of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60] --- Added 1/4tsp of Horticultural Aloe --- Added 1/4tsp of Horticultural Coconut --- Added 1/2tsp of Mycrobe Complete --- Added 1/2tsp of WDG3000 Extra Strength BTI (Bacillus Thuringiensis, subspecies Israelensis) --- Mixed the solution and poured 4 cups straight into a pump sprayer. --- Misted Gorilla Goat #2’s straw mulch with the wetting solution in the 20-gallon pot. --- Repeated this process for each 5-gallon pot. - [21:55]: Done! --- Took my time and tried to go as evenly as possible. - [22:02]: Poured 2 cups of RO water straight into the pump sprayer and misted the straw mulch of Gorilla Goat #2 (in the 20-gallon). --- Looking good my ladies! - [22:12]: Within the AC Infinity App, --- For the Main Tent [4x4] controller, --- Adjusted the 'Vegetative [18/6]' Schedule for the grow light. ------ Increased the MAX from 1 to 2 - [22:18]: Took PPFD readings. --- Gorilla Goat #1 was around 166 μmol/m²/s which gives a DLI of 10.76 mol/m²/d under an 18/6 light cycle --- Gorilla Goat #2 was around 175 μmol/m²/s which gives a DLI of 11.34 mol/m²/d under an 18/6 light cycle --- The FC-6500 is now utilizing around 203.3W (at intensity 2 out of 10). - [22:24]: Took the weekly height and light distance measurements. ------ Gorilla Goat #1 was about 4.75" tall. ------ Gorilla Goat #2 was about 5" tall. ------ Gorilla Goat #1 was about 47.5" away from the grow light. ------ Gorilla Goat #2 was about 52.5" away from the grow light. - [23:05]: Synced and changed the Ecowitt soil moisture sensor data: ------ 56% - [CH01 FP5 - Gorilla Goat #1] ------ 51% - [CH02 G20 - Gorilla Goat #2] ------ 66% - [CH03 GR5 - Garlic Budder OG#1] ------ 48% - [CH04 FP5 - Garlic Budder OG#2] ------ 49% - [CH05 GR7 - Garlic Budder OG#1] ------ 49% - [CH06 GR7 - Garlic Budder OG#2] ------ 53% - [CH07 GR7 - Garlic Budder #2] ------ 53% - [CH08 GR7 - Garlic Budder #4] --- Also made sure to update the watering triggers for the WittFlow auto-watering system. ------ Changed the ON trigger to: --------- When CH2 soil moisture is under 30% ------ Changed the OFF trigger to: --------- When CH2 soil moisture is over 34% --- As growth continues to get larger, will gradually increase the moisture average. - [23:13]: Checked the humidifiers. --- Tanks are still full and no leaks found. --- Wow what a day! --- Grow up nice and strong my ladies! --- Maximum warp. Another 5 weeks done! --- Looking back over the past month or so, --- Harvested and trimmed the last grow cycle and am already starting veg next week! --- Definitely have a new appreciation for the trimming phase (need to find a more efficient way to trim larger yields). --- Still dialing in the auto-watering, but so far so good. Going to continue to fine-tune over the next few weeks. --- Oh! Increasing the overall soil moisture has been a huge game changer! --- In past grows, I’ve been keeping my general moisture levels around 30% and would water around 25% which apparently was too dry. --- Increasing just 10% makes a huge difference! Both tents are looking better than ever! --- Just don’t frack it up Ensign! Day 07 - Sunday - 12/29/24 - Total Days: 027 ----------------------------------- Daily Averages ~[+01:00] - Temps: 78.6 °F [25.9°C] - Humidity: 69.6% - VPD: 1.01 kPa - Soil %: [41, 43, 45, 42, 42, 39, 41, 45] ----------------------------------- - [19:20]: Night check on the 4x4 tent. --- Looking great with surprisingly healthy growth! --- All around growth is very healthy and looking green! --- Really like the growth structure of the Gorilla Goat! Both phenos are staying relatively squat whereas the Garlic Budder phenos are more on the stretchy side. --- The best part is, aside from watering RO water and saponins, haven’t really done anything. --- Living soil is the way to grow! - [19:37]: Checked the Ecowitt soil moisture sensor data: ------ 39% - [CH01 FP5 - Gorilla Goat #1] ------ 39% - [CH02 G20 - Gorilla Goat #2] ------ 45% - [CH03 GR5 - Garlic Budder OG#1] ------ 41% - [CH04 FP5 - Garlic Budder OG#2] ------ 40% - [CH05 GR7 - Garlic Budder OG#1] ------ 34% - [CH06 GR7 - Garlic Budder OG#2] ------ 38% - [CH07 GR7 - Garlic Budder #2] ------ 41% - [CH08 GR7 - Garlic Budder #4] --------- Veg: 38% - 45% | Flower: 45% - 55% --------- General: 30% [Dry] | 45 - 60% [Moist] | 70% [Wet] - [20:55]: Adjusted the height of the auto-watering reservoir. --- Raised the tank up a good 7-8 inches. Now the tank sits just under the lung room’s exhaust fan. --- This should increase the PSI a bit more. Was noticing that the watering system was barely dripping. --- Also made a few more extra holes in the drip ring. --- Water flow is now a lot more even. - [21:14]: Filled a pump sprayer with 4 cups of RO water. ------ Added 1/64tsp of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60] --- Gave the sprayer a good shake before spraying the entire solution onto Gorilla Goat #1’s straw mulch. - [21:20]: Checked the 3x3 veg tent. --- Looking good! --- Garlic Budder mothers are vegging along and looking great! Growth is green and the canopy is nice and even. - [21:24]: Filled a pump sprayer with 3 cups of RO water. ------ Added 1/64tsp of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60] --- Gave the sprayer a good shake before spraying the entire solution onto the original #2’s straw mulch. - [21:31]: Repeated this process again for the #2 pheno. --- Focused mainly on the straw. --- Checked the humidifiers. --- Tanks are still full and no leaks found. --- Nice! Another grow week done! --- Plan to order more worms soon. With the auto-watering, the 20-gallon should be perfect for them. --- Also plan to take cuttings from both Gorilla Goat phenos soon to cycle into the veg tent. --- These genetics are growing incredibly well from seed but curious how cloning will go. --- Onwards Ensign! Introduction - Week 04 Summary - Ensign's log, stardate 8011.1, Great grow week in the garden! Growth has been incredible and have been impressed with the Gorilla Goat phenos! Really liking both the growth morphology and wow the terps on the stem rubs have been loud and gassy! Have already decided to preserve these genetics and will take clones next week to begin the new veg mother rotation. Oh! Flooded the tent for the first time (damnit Ensign). Upgraded the gravity feed reservoir and added a drain valve. Still have the outlet valve OFF and still checking for leaks. Inoculated all pots with worms and have been trying to keep up with watering. Plan to start prepping for the 12/12 flip to flower soon. Lot’s more to do Ensign, maximum warp! Engage! Day 04 - Thursday - 01/02/25 - Total Days: 031 ----------------------------------- Daily Averages ~[+01:00] - Temps: 77.1 °F [25.1°C] - Humidity: 67.3% - VPD: 1.03 kPa - Soil %: [42, 40, 46, 48, 43, 36, 49, 51] ----------------------------------- - [11:17]: Woah! --- The 5-gallon auto-watering system’s reservoir tank is empty!? --- Uh-Oh.. --- Checked inside the 4x4 tent (temporarily turned the grow light on). --- The floor of the tent was wet.. --- Damnit Ensign! --- Puddles of water were on the floor and both the Gorilla Goat #2 and the original Garlic Budder #2 phenos were drenched at the bottom which seem to have soaked up all of the water.. --- Damn that’s a lot of water.. --- Thankfully both the Gorilla Goat #1 and the original Garlic Budder #1 phenos were still dry at the bottom. - [11:35]: Cleaned up the water from the tent’s floor. --- Actually quite grateful that I did not turn the auto-refill system for the tank yet. --- So just under 4-gallons of water must have flooded overnight. --- Damnit Ensign.. - [11:47]: Adjusted the watering triggers for the WittFlow auto-watering system. --- Changed the ON trigger from: --------- When CH2 soil moisture is under 40% ------------ Updated to: --------------- When CH2 soil moisture is under 32% --- Changed the OFF trigger from: --------- When CH2 soil moisture is over 45% ------------ Updated to: --------------- When CH2 soil moisture is over 35% --- [*smokes several bowls..] --- From what I can understand, --- The reason why the floor was soaked seems to have occurred due to the gravity. --- More importantly, soil capillary action (how water moves through soil pores against gravity).. --- The larger the container, the higher the top soil level, so more gravity is required to travel upwards. --- The 5-gallon pot’s top soil is about 10 inches from the floor whereas the 20-gallon is about 14 inches. --- Thus the top soil never reached 40% soil moisture so the system never shut off. --- Ordering new drip rings because I think I did more harm than good by adding more holes.. --- Will also probably drip straight onto or right next to the sensor. --- Will either move the position of the drip ring or the sensor later.. --- The watering has to be uneven. Damnit Ensign.. --- Also will modify the reservoir and tubing setup a bit later. I think shortening the tubing will increase the pressure? I dunno.. - [17:27]: Evening check on the 4x4 tent. --- Wow! --- Growth actually looks pretty damn good! --- Both Gorilla Goat phenos looking perky and fan leaves are huge and green! --- Even both Garlic Budder phenos were looking quite happy! --- Surprisingly the soaked phenos (Gorilla Goat #1 and the Garlic Budder OG#2) are looking incredible! Both also look like they’ve grown larger! --- Maybe more water is better? - [18:42]: Checked the Ecowitt soil moisture sensor data: ------ 39% - [CH01 FP5 - Gorilla Goat #1] ------ 41% - [CH02 G20 - Gorilla Goat #2] ------ 41% - [CH03 GR5 - Garlic Budder OG#1] ------ 51% - [CH04 FP5 - Garlic Budder OG#2] ------ 41% - [CH05 GR7 - Garlic Budder OG#1] ------ 31% - [CH06 GR7 - Garlic Budder OG#2] ------ 48% - [CH07 GR7 - Garlic Budder #2] ------ 49% - [CH08 GR7 - Garlic Budder #4] --------- Veg: 38% - 45% | Flower: 45% - 55% --------- General: 30% [Dry] | 45 - 60% [Moist] | 70% [Wet] --- Not going to water the soaked phenos, but will water the ones that did not get affected by the reservoir flooding. --- Also the 20-gallon pot is 10% drier than the 5-gallon pot which makes sense due to the height difference. - [19:04]: Filled a pump sprayer with 4 cups of RO water. ------ Added 1/64tsp of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60] --- Gave the sprayer a good shake before spraying the entire solution onto Gorilla Goat #1’s straw mulch. - [19:15]: Repeated this process again for the original Garlic Budder #1 pheno. --- Focused mainly on the straw. --- Absolutely stoked that both Gorilla Goat #2 (in the 20-gallon) and the original Garlic Budder #1 (in the 5-gallon) are looking happy! --- Thought I fracked it up in the garden again. Which I did, but plants look great and no signs of any damage. - [19:19]: Throughout the day I swapped out the reservoir tank with a new one. --- Basically the same tank but this time I flipped the tank upside down and now have the output valve facing the front of the tent (had to cut a hole at the top). --- Also now output valve on the tank is more robust and is using proper fittings. --- Also shortened the watering system’s tubing a good 3ft. --- Going to leave the tank empty for now. --- Plan to add a drain valve later (this will help whenever I need to drain the system). - [20:14]: Checked the 3x3 veg tent. --- Garlic Budder mothers are all looking healthy and green! --- Canopy grow is getting a bit wild. --- Time to top! - [20:15]: Using a pair of trimmers, --- Removed a good 5-6 inches of top growth. - [20:40]: Done! --- Canopy looks a whole lot better! --- Mulched the trimmings. - [21:17]: Filled a pump sprayer with 4 cups of RO water. ------ Added 1/64tsp of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60] --- Gave the sprayer a good shake before spraying the entire solution onto the original #2’s straw mulch. - [21:25]: Checked the humidifiers. --- Tanks are still full and no leaks found. --- Wow what a day.. --- Was not expecting the tank to flood, but everything seems to have worked out nicely. --- Hope I didn’t frack it up (again). Day 05 - Friday - 01/03/25 - Total Days: 032 ----------------------------------- Daily Averages ~[+01:00] - Temps: 76.7 °F [24.8°C] - Humidity: 67.7% - VPD: 1.01 kPa - Soil %: [47, 42, 53, 49, 41, 49, 46, 45] ----------------------------------- - [21:01]: Night check on the 4x4 tent. --- Wow the garden is looking great! --- Both Gorilla Goat phenos look a bit droopy, but growth is looking green! --- Wow! The Gorilla Goat fan leaves are huge! Some leaves are larger than my hand. By far the largest leaves I’ve ever grown! Shout out to Rasta Jeff and his incredible genetics! --- Also on the stem rubs, the terps are like nothing I’ve ever smelled! Wow! --- Already have decided to keep both Gorilla Goat phenos and will take clone cuttings soon. Plan to eventually swap out two of the Garlic Budder mother plants (most likely the #2 and #4 phenos). --- Garlic Budder phenos are looking healthy and happy as well! These genetics are definitely more lankier in comparison to the Gorilla Goat. - [21:07]: Checked the Ecowitt soil moisture sensor data: ------ 46% - [CH01 FP5 - Gorilla Goat #1] ------ 42% - [CH02 G20 - Gorilla Goat #2] ------ 51% - [CH03 GR5 - Garlic Budder OG#1] ------ 49% - [CH04 FP5 - Garlic Budder OG#2] ------ 37% - [CH05 GR7 - Garlic Budder OG#1] ------ 46% - [CH06 GR7 - Garlic Budder OG#2] ------ 45% - [CH07 GR7 - Garlic Budder #2] ------ 43% - [CH08 GR7 - Garlic Budder #4] --------- Veg: 38% - 45% | Flower: 45% - 55% --------- General: 30% [Dry] | 45 - 60% [Moist] | 70% [Wet] --- Before watering, going to fill the new reservoir. Before I do that, - [21:18]: Added a drain valve. --- Great! Going to make draining the system a whole lot easier. --- Started filling the reservoir by engaging the RO auto fill system (valve ON). --- This will take a bit of time. --- No leaks! Nice! --- Will keep the outlet valve OFF for now and will continue to check for leaks. - [21:23]: Checked the 3x3 veg tent. --- Ooo yea! Looking great my ladies! --- Mothers are vegging along and looking perky! - [21:37]: Filled a pump sprayer with 4 cups of RO water. ------ Added 1/64tsp of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60] --- Gave the sprayer a good shake before spraying the entire solution onto #1’s straw mulch. - [21:45]: Checked the 4x4 reservoir again. --- Nice! The system is still filling, but no leaks! --- Based on the current water levels (about half full), the empty reservoir will take about an hour to fill. --- Will continue to check the new fittings for leaks and once the new drip ring arrives, will turn the outlet valve on (still set to OFF). - [21:47]: Checked the humidifiers. --- Tanks are still full and no leaks found. Day 06 - Saturday - 01/04/25 - Total Days: 033 ----------------------------------- Daily Averages ~[+01:00] - Temps: 77.7 °F [25.4°C] - Humidity: 68.9% - VPD: 1.00 kPa - Soil %: [43, 42, 48, 48, 56, 43, 43, 41] ----------------------------------- - [19:22]: Night check on the 4x4 tent. --- Wow growth is getting huge! --- All phenos look green, but both Gorilla Goat phenos look a bit droopy. --- Garlic Budder phenos look perky and really are starting to stretch upwards! --- Regardless of the slight droopiness, both Gorilla Goat phenos have the largest fan leaves I’ve ever seen! --- Some leaves have over a 9-inch leaf-span! Incredible! - [19:31]: Checked the Ecowitt soil moisture sensor data: ------ 42% - [CH01 FP5 - Gorilla Goat #1] ------ 41% - [CH02 G20 - Gorilla Goat #2] ------ 47% - [CH03 GR5 - Garlic Budder OG#1] ------ 48% - [CH04 FP5 - Garlic Budder OG#2] ------ 50% - [CH05 GR7 - Garlic Budder OG#1] ------ 42% - [CH06 GR7 - Garlic Budder OG#2] ------ 43% - [CH07 GR7 - Garlic Budder #2] ------ 40% - [CH08 GR7 - Garlic Budder #4] --------- Veg: 38% - 45% | Flower: 45% - 55% --------- General: 30% [Dry] | 45 - 60% [Moist] | 70% [Wet] --- Soil moisture looks great and no need to really water. Great! - [19:33]: Nice! Worms have arrived! --- Got another batch of red wigglers from Uncle Jim and going to add some to each pot. --- Let’s go! - [19:45]: Poured the entire bag of worms and coco into a small plastic bowl. --- Wow! Worms seems to be a bit slow (due to the colder temps), but all seem to have survived the trip. --- Divided and filled 8 solo cups with an even amount of worms and coco. --- Tried to fill each cup as evenly as possible. --- Okay! First the main 4x4, - [19:51]: Misted the straw mulch of each pot with some distilled water. --- Just enough to wet the straw. --- Dumped a cup of worms into each pot around the base of the plant. Going to let the worms do their thing and work their way into the soil. --- Onwards to the veg tent! - [19:58]: Checked the 3x3 veg tent. --- Dumped a cup of worms into each pot around the base of the plant. --- Misted the coco with some distilled water. Just enough to wet the coco. --- Nice! Misting after adding the worms seems to - [20:13]: Checked the reservoir for leaks. --- Great! Looking good! --- Also the tank in now full with the auto shutoff valve working perfectly! --- Turned the auto refill system to OFF --- On the reservoir, marked the full level with a marker. --- Plan to empty the system a gallon at a time and will mark the levels accordingly. - [20:24]: Filled a pump sprayer with 4.5 cups of RO water. ------ Added 1/32tsp of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60] --- Gave the sprayer a good shake before spraying the entire solution onto the original #1’s straw mulch. --- Also misted the top of the other phenos with a bit of water. Mainly to wet the straw for the worms. - [20:34]: Checked the humidifiers. --- Tanks are still full and no leaks found. --- Nice! All pots have been inoculated with living worms! --- The plants have been really liking the higher soil moisture levels. --- Hope the wormies will too. Stay strong little ones! Introduction - Week 05 Summary - Ensign's log, stardate 8030.3, Busy week in the garden! In preparation for the flower phase, top dressed all pots in the main tent. Also fertilizer fed for the first time this cycle. Then took clone cuttings of all phenos and by the end of the week have already begun the process of rooting in Coco Coins. Also replaced the drip ring and re-connected the auto-watering system. In the veg tent, did a pretty heavy topping and defoliation. Aside from that, it’s been watering as needed. Had a minor break out of fungus gnats in both tents. Been inoculating with BTI which seems to be working great! Next week begins the big 12/12 flip and the big two-week stretch! Onwards to next week! Looking green and growth is looking absolutely the healthiest it’s ever been! --- Wow! Both Gorilla Goat phenos are growing beautifully! Both are bushy and squat with even side branching and tight inner-nodal spacing. Genetics are definitely the most important and I am utterly hyped for these! --- In comparison, even though the Garlic Budder phenos are looking incredible and healthy, under the same environmental conditions, the growth morphology is vastly different. Branching is uneven (each node has only one branch instead of two), and both are quite lanky in nodal spacing. --- And wow the Gorilla Goat’s fan leaves are huge and looking beautiful! - [+01:02]: Checked the Ecowitt soil moisture sensor data: ------------------ [ 4x4 MAIN TENT ] --------------- ------ 40% - [CH01 FP5 - Gorilla Goat #1] ------ 47% - [CH02 G20 - Gorilla Goat #2] ------ 49% - [CH03 GR5 - Garlic Budder OG#1] ------ 44% - [CH04 FP5 - Garlic Budder OG#2] ------------------ [ 3x3 VEG TENT ] ---------------- ------ 36% - [CH05 GR7 - Garlic Budder OG#1] ------ 32% - [CH06 GR7 - Garlic Budder OG#2] ------ 44% - [CH07 GR7 - Garlic Budder #2] ------ 39% - [CH08 GR7 - Garlic Budder #4] --------- Veg: 38% - 45% | Flower: 45% - 55% --------- General: 30% [Dry] | 45 - 60% [Moist] | 70% [Wet] - [+01:05]: Checked the 3x3 veg tent. --- Vegging mothers are looking great! The #1 pheno is now taller than #2, but this is probably due to the smaller container. --- Both Garlic Budder phenos are looking great and are continuing to stretch upwards! The #2 pheno has already reached the scrog frame! - [17:58]: Checked the Ecowitt soil moisture sensor data: ------------------ [ 4x4 MAIN TENT ] --------------- ------ 36% - [CH01 FP5 - Gorilla Goat #1] ------ 45% - [CH02 G20 - Gorilla Goat #2] ------ 44% - [CH03 GR5 - Garlic Budder OG#1] ------ 42% - [CH04 FP5 - Garlic Budder OG#2] ------------------ [ 3x3 VEG TENT ] ---------------- ------ 47% - [CH05 GR7 - Garlic Budder OG#1] ------ 47% - [CH06 GR7 - Garlic Budder OG#2] ------ 42% - [CH07 GR7 - Garlic Budder #2] ------ 48% - [CH08 GR7 - Garlic Budder #4] --------- Veg: 38% - 45% | Flower: 45% - 55% --------- General: 30% [Dry] | 45 - 60% [Moist] | 70% [Wet] - [18:06]: Filled a pump sprayer with 4 cups of RO water. ------ Added 1/64tsp of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60] --- Gave the sprayer a good shake before spraying the entire solution onto Gorilla Goat #1’s straw mulch. - [18:15]: Turned the auto-refill valve to ON for the reservoir. --- Going to let the tank fill up to test for leaks again. - [18:16]: Checked the 3x3 veg tent. --- Garlic Budder mothers are green and happy! --- Looking beautiful! All around veg growth is looking perky! --- Don’t need to top, but need to clear out some canopy space for clone cuttings. - [18:19]: Time to top! --- Using a pair of trimmers, --- Removed a decent amount of canopy growth. --- Also cleaned up the bottom growth and slightly re-arranged the pots (mainly rotated a few). - [18:54]: Went pretty heavy on the topping and defoliation, but growth should spring back in a few days. --- Main goal was to clear out the center area. --- Mulched the trimmings. - [19:00]: Back in the 4x4 main tent, --- Since growth is looking great and there’s plenty of bottom branching in all phenos, --- Going to take a cutting from all four phenos which will eventually rotate in as the new mothers in the veg tent. --- Let’s go! - [19:13]: Filled a measuring cup with 1.5 cups of RO water. ------ Added 1/8tsp of Horticultural Aloe --- Mixed the solution and poured it straight into a solo cup. - [19:17]: Time to take the cuttings! --- Using a pair of trimmers (AC Infinity), --- Gently cut a clone cutting from each plant in the 4x4 tent. --- Also defoliated and cleaned up the lower growth. --- Trimmed and cleaned each clone cutting by trimming most of the leaves off leaving the top nodes. --- Did not cut any leaf fingers. --- Made sure the tip of each stalk had a 45° cut before placing into the cup of aloe solution. --- Also made sure to tag each cutting with the name and pheno number. - [20:01]: Placed the fresh cuttings into the 3x3 veg tent. --- Have the cup raised off the floor and is placed on a tray that that is on an upside-down pot. --- Going to let these cuttings soak for a day before refreshing with straight RO water. --- Let the two-day soak begin! --- Wow have to say that I am hyped for these new genetics! While defoliation and topping both Gorilla Goat phenos, the terps on the stem rubs were loud with a gassy and almost armpit-raunchy funk that I’ve never smelled from any plant that I’ve ever grown! Also in comparison, the Garlic Budder stem rub terps are good and loud but seem bland and grassy whereas the Gorilla Goat phenos are just wreaking with a gassy and skunky funk. --- Anyways, --- Back in the 4x4 once more, - [20:04]: Shut the auto-refill valve OFF for the reservoir. --- Great! No leaks! --- Swapped out Gorilla Goat #2’s drip ring. --- Also moved the drip ring a bit closer to the soil sensor. - [20:11]: Turned the reservoir’s outlet valve ON --- Hope the new drip ring and higher water pressure will help to spread the water a bit more evenly. --- Placing the drip ring closer to the sensors should also help to prevent another tank flooding. - [20:15]: Took general PPFD readings. ------ Gorilla Goat #1 was around 240 μmol/m²/s which gives a DLI of 15.55 mol/m²/d under an 18/6 light cycle. ------ Gorilla Goat #2 was around 245 μmol/m²/s which gives a DLI of 15.88 mol/m²/d under an 18/6 light cycle. - [20:18]: Took the weekly height and light distance measurements. ------ Gorilla Goat #1 was about 13.0" tall. ------ Gorilla Goat #2 was about 12.0" tall. ------ All phenos were about 41" away from the grow light. Introduction - Week 06 Summary - Ensign's log, stardate 8049.51, Overall a pretty simple grow week! Started the week off with the flip to 12/12. Also leveled out the scrog frame and have already begun training the Garlic Budder phenos. The Gorilla Goat phenos are just barely under the netting and have continued to remain relatively squat. Hoping next week there will be a bit more upwards growth to start filling in the scrog netting. Started feeding bloom nutrients and have been fine tuning the auto-watering system throughout the week. Topped the veg tent and have been keeping up with watering as needed. Checked for clone roots and there was none quite yet. Will check again soon and plan to transplant into solo cups soon. Onwards to the second week of the bloom stretch! [START OF WEEK 06] ========================================================== ---------- [ 4x4 MAIN TENT ] ---------- Gorilla Goat #1 - WEEK 06 - Pre-Bloom [Stretch Wk1] Gorilla Goat #2 - WEEK 06 - Pre-Bloom [Stretch Wk1] Garlic Budder OG#1 - WEEK 06 - Pre-Bloom [Stretch Wk1] Garlic Budder OG#2 - WEEK 06 - Pre-Bloom [Stretch Wk1] ----------- [ 3x3 VEG TENT ] ------------ Garlic Budder OG#1 - WEEK 08 - Full Veg Garlic Budder OG#2 - WEEK 08 - Full Veg Garlic Budder #2 - WEEK 08 - Full Veg Garlic Budder #4 - WEEK 09 - Full Veg 01/13/25 → 01/19/25 This Week's Estimated Goals ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DLI: ~13 mol/m²/d PPFD: ~300 μmol/m²/s VPD: ~1.0 kPa This Week's Meter Readings & Averages ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Light On/Off: 19:00 - 07:00 | Wattage: ~260.3W - LV3 DLI: 11.40 mol/m²/d PPFD: 264 μmol/m²/s VPD: 1.03 kPa Soil %: [40.0, 44.7, 49.6, 44.1, 44.6, 45.3, 43.1, 43.6] ========================================================== Day 01 - Monday - 01/13/25 - Total Days: 042 ----------------------------------- Daily Averages ~[+01:00] - Temps: 75.4 °F [24.1°C] - Humidity: 63.8% - VPD: 1.08 kPa - Soil %: [35, 40, 54, 40, 50, 49, 51, 51] ----------------------------------- - [13:38]: Okay! Time to flip to flower! --- Within the AC Infinity App, --- For the Main Tent [4x4] controller, --- Changed the schedule from 'Vegetative [18/6]' to 'Flower [12/12]' --- Also made sure to set the conditions for each device accordingly, ------ For the Grow Light (Mars Hydro FC-6500): --------- The Mode is set to ‘On Mode’ --------- The START/END times are set to 07:00PM/07:00AM --------- The Sunrise and Sunset Duration value is set to 20Min --------- The MAX value is set to 3 ------ For the Exhaust Fan (AC Infinity CloudLine T6): --------- The Mode to ‘VPD Mode’ --------- The VPD HIGH/LOW trigger’s value is set to 1.1kPa/0.9kPa --------- The MIN/MAX value is set to 1/8 --------- The VPD Dynamic Transition value is set to 0.1kPa ------ For the Humidifier (AC Infinity CloudForge T7): --------- The Mode is set to ‘Continuous Target’ --------- The VPD target value is set to 1.0kPa --------- The MIN/MAX value is set to 0/8 --------- The VPD Dynamic Transition value is set to 0.2kPa ------ For the Heater (AC Infinity ThermoForge T3): --------- The Mode is set to ‘Continuous Target’ --------- The Temperature target value is set to 78°F --------- The MIN/MAX value is set to 0/8 --------- The Temperature Dynamic Transition buffer value is set to 2°F --- For this cycle, going to try to use VPD to control the exhaust fan. --- The basic idea is to set the heater to a target temp based on the phase of growth (now set to 78°F) and have the rest of the devices controlled by VPD (Vapor Pressure Deficit). --- Will continue to adjust the exhaust fan as needed. --- Just hyped that Flower has officially begun! - [23:55]: Night check on the 4x4 tent. --- Ooo yea! The garden is looking incredible! --- Both Gorilla Goat phenos are just bushing out with nodes! --- Garlic Budder phenos are also looking quite healthy! Although the original #2 is showing some signs of leaf edge yellowing. - [+00:01]: Checked the Ecowitt soil moisture sensor data: ------------------ [ 4x4 MAIN TENT ] --------------- ------ 32% - [CH01 FP5 - Gorilla Goat #1] ------ 40% - [CH02 G20 - Gorilla Goat #2] ------ 50% - [CH03 GR5 - Garlic Budder OG#1] ------ 38% - [CH04 FP5 - Garlic Budder OG#2] ------------------ [ 3x3 VEG TENT ] ---------------- ------ 45% - [CH05 GR7 - Garlic Budder OG#1] ------ 43% - [CH06 GR7 - Garlic Budder OG#2] ------ 48% - [CH07 GR7 - Garlic Budder #2] ------ 46% - [CH08 GR7 - Garlic Budder #4] --------- Veg: 38% - 45% | Flower: 45% - 55% --------- General: 30% [Dry] | 45 - 60% [Moist] | 70% [Wet] - [+00:08]: Adjusted the watering triggers for the WittFlow auto-watering system. --- Changed the ON trigger from: --------- When CH2 soil moisture is under 32% ------------ Updated to: --------------- When CH2 soil moisture is under 40% --- Changed the OFF trigger from: --------- When CH2 soil moisture is over 35% ------------ Updated to: --------------- When CH2 soil moisture is over 45% --- Going to be careful and will continuously check the tank for leaking and flooding. --- Really hope the system does not flood. Considering the Ecowitt deep meter which now makes more sense for the auto-watering system. --- The auto-refill system is still off so if the system floods again, only 4-gallons will be flooded (again). --- Anyways, - [+00:18]: Filled a pump sprayer with 4 cups of RO water. ------ Added 1/64tsp of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60] --- Gave the sprayer a good shake before spraying the entire solution onto Gorilla Goat #1’s straw mulch. - [+00:31]: Repeated this process again for the original Garlic Budder #2 pheno. --- Focused mainly on the straw. - [+00:37]: Checked the 3x3 veg tent. --- Garlic Budder mothers are vegging along beautifully! --- Growth is for the most part nice and green! --- Checked the propagation dome, --- Clones are looking great! Growth looks green and perky! --- Misted the top growth with some distilled water. --- Opened the left side vent. This is now the only vent open. - [+00:41]: Checked the humidifiers. --- Tanks are still full and no leaks found. - [+01:53]: Hmm. Noticing that the VPD levels are spiking a bit high. --- Going to increase the trigger ranges to give a wider VPD buffer. --- Within the AC Infinity App, --- For the Main Tent [4x4] controller, --- Adjusted the 'Flower [12/12]' Schedule for the exhaust fan. ------ Increased the VPD HIGH trigger value from 1.1kPa to 1.2kPa ------ Decreased the VPD LOW trigger value from 0.9kPa to 0.8kPa ------ The VPD Dynamic Transition value is still set to 0.1kPa --- Great! Hopefully the wider VPD range will help to stabilize the overall VPD to around 1.0kPa --- Will check back later and will continue to fine tune as needed. Day 02 - Tuesday - 01/14/25 - Total Days: 043 ----------------------------------- Daily Averages ~[+01:00] - Temps: 74.5 °F [23.6°C] - Humidity: 63.8% - VPD: 1.05 kPa - Soil %: [44, 40, 48, 50, 42, 41, 46, 43] ----------------------------------- - [20:32]: Night check on the 4x4 tent. --- Woah these ladies exploded with growth! --- Wow both Gorilla Goat phenos are growing perfectly round and bushy. From the top, the canopy literally looks like a perfect square. Absolutely incredible! --- Both Garlic Budder phenos are also raging with growth! Most so the original #2 pheno which has clearly grown through the SCROG netting. Nice! - [20:35]: Checked the Ecowitt soil moisture sensor data: ------------------ [ 4x4 MAIN TENT ] --------------- ------ 42% - [CH01 FP5 - Gorilla Goat #1] ------ 40% - [CH02 G20 - Gorilla Goat #2] ------ 48% - [CH03 GR5 - Garlic Budder OG#1] ------ 46% - [CH04 FP5 - Garlic Budder OG#2] ------------------ [ 3x3 VEG TENT ] ---------------- ------ 40% - [CH05 GR7 - Garlic Budder OG#1] ------ 35% - [CH06 GR7 - Garlic Budder OG#2] ------ 45% - [CH07 GR7 - Garlic Budder #2] ------ 42% - [CH08 GR7 - Garlic Budder #4] --------- Veg: 38% - 45% | Flower: 45% - 55% --------- General: 30% [Dry] | 45 - 60% [Moist] | 70% [Wet] --- Soil moisture looks great! --- No need to water today. - [20:41]: Okay! Time to lower the SCROG frame! --- Removed the hanging straps and gently leveled out the SCROG frame. --- Secured the corners with velcro straps. - [20:57]: Had to also train and bend the original Garlic Budder #2 pheno a bit to fit under the screen. --- The rest of the phenos are still well below the frame. --- Over the next few days, going to train each pheno as they stretch upwards. --- The Garlic Budder phenos easily double in size during the stretch so curious if the Gorilla Goat will do the same. --- Going to make further adjustments to the exhaust fan. - [21:00]: Within the AC Infinity App, --- For the Main Tent [4x4] controller, --- Adjusted the 'Flower [12/12]' Schedule for the exhaust fan. ------ Switched the VPD HIGH trigger from 1.2kPa to OFF ------ The VPD LOW trigger value is still 0.8kPa ------ The VPD Dynamic Transition value is still set to 0.1kPa --- From what I can understand about VPD, the higher the number, the drier the conditions and vice-versa (lower number is usually more humid). --- This makes sense considering that a humid 0.8kPa is ideal for seedlings and a 1.5kPa is usually ideal for drier full bloom and ripening (1.0kPa is usually ideal for vegetative growth). --- So for my lung room conditions (which humidity is always relatively drier than the tent conditions), the HIGH trigger is unnecessary. --- I think. --- Will continue and adjust as needed. --- Once the VPD levels are dialed in, will eventually apply similar settings for the 3x3 veg tent. - [21:17]: Checked the 3x3 veg tent. --- Garlic Budder mothers are vegging along and looking great! --- Checked the propagation dome, --- Nice! All clones are green and perky! - [21:18]: Misted the top growth with some distilled water. --- Now have both side vents open. --- Plan to check for roots soon. - [21:20]: A bit concerned about the auto-watering system. --- Switched the auto-watering reservoir’s outlet valve to OFF. --- Getting a bit paranoid on flooding the reservoir again. --- Will turn this back on once Garlic Goat #2 needs to be watered. This way I can monitor the watering to make sure the drip ring is even and can check the soil moisture levels go up before another flood occurs. --- Anyways, back to the 3x3, - [21:41]: Filled a pump sprayer with 4 cups of RO water. ------ Added 1/64tsp of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60] --- Gave the sprayer a good shake before spraying the entire solution onto the original #2’s straw mulch. - [21:53]: Checked the humidifiers. --- Tanks are still full and no leaks found. Day 03 - Wednesday - 01/15/25 - Total Days: 044 ----------------------------------- Daily Averages ~[+01:00] - Temps: 74.8 °F [23.8°C] - Humidity: 64.7% - VPD: 1.03 kPa - Soil %: [35, 40, 44, 42, 37, 48, 43, 40] ----------------------------------- - [22:35]: Night check on the 4x4 tent. --- Ooo yea! Garden is looking great! --- Gorilla Goat phenos are looking green and are starting to bush out! --- Garlic Budder phenos are growing along nicely and looking good! The original #2 is already adjusting to the SCROG netting and nodes are starting to face upwards again. - [22:42]: Checked the Ecowitt soil moisture sensor data: ------------------ [ 4x4 MAIN TENT ] --------------- ------ 33% - [CH01 FP5 - Gorilla Goat #1] ------ 39% - [CH02 G20 - Gorilla Goat #2] ------ 44% - [CH03 GR5 - Garlic Budder OG#1] ------ 40% - [CH04 FP5 - Garlic Budder OG#2] ------------------ [ 3x3 VEG TENT ] ---------------- ------ 35% - [CH05 GR7 - Garlic Budder OG#1] ------ 40% - [CH06 GR7 - Garlic Budder OG#2] ------ 42% - [CH07 GR7 - Garlic Budder #2] ------ 38% - [CH08 GR7 - Garlic Budder #4] --------- Veg: 38% - 45% | Flower: 45% - 55% --------- General: 30% [Dry] | 45 - 60% [Moist] | 70% [Wet] - [23:02]: Turned the reservoir’s outlet valve to ON --- Nice! Water seems to be dripping evenly! --- Going to continue to check to make sure watering is even, but the system seems to be working! --- Plan on feeding tomorrow but Gorilla Goat #1 needs watering. - [23:12]: Filled a pump sprayer with 2 cups of RO water. ------ Added a pinch of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60] --- Gave the sprayer a good shake before spraying the entire solution onto Gorilla Goat #1’s straw mulch. - [23:22]: Checked the 3x3 veg tent. --- Garlic Budder mothers are vegging along and looking great! --- Still impressed on how increasing the overall soil moisture can make (this grow cycle have increase my usual moisture levels by about 10%). --- The original #2 pheno is really getting tall! The clone of her is also the tallest in the main tent. Fascinating how genetics work. Going to need to top later. --- Checked on the propagation dome, --- Clones are vegging along beautifully! --- Misted the top growth with some distilled water. - [23:34]: Filled a pump sprayer with 4 cups of RO water. ------ Added 1/64tsp of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60] --- Gave the sprayer a good shake before spraying the entire solution onto the original #1’s straw mulch. - [23:44]: Repeated this process again for the #4 pheno. --- Focused mainly on the straw. - [23:55]: Checked the humidifiers. --- Tanks are still full and no leaks found. --- Plan to both feed and if rooted, transplant the Coco Coins soon. Day 04 - Thursday - 01/16/25 - Total Days: 045 ----------------------------------- Daily Averages ~[+01:00] - Temps: 74.9 °F [23.8°C] - Humidity: 65.5% - VPD: 1.01 kPa - Soil %: [37, 48, 44, 40, 53, 44, 40, 50] ----------------------------------- - [17:20]: Evening check on the 3x3 veg tent. --- Garlic Budder mothers are vegging along! --- Growth looks green and perky! --- Will check on the propagation dome a bit later. - [17:22]: Checked the Ecowitt soil moisture sensor data: ------------------ [ 4x4 MAIN TENT ] --------------- ------ 35% - [CH01 FP5 - Gorilla Goat #1] ------ 45% - [CH02 G20 - Gorilla Goat #2] ------ 41% - [CH03 GR5 - Garlic Budder OG#1] ------ 37% - [CH04 FP5 - Garlic Budder OG#2] ------------------ [ 3x3 VEG TENT ] ---------------- ------ 49% - [CH05 GR7 - Garlic Budder OG#1] ------ 36% - [CH06 GR7 - Garlic Budder OG#2] ------ 40% - [CH07 GR7 - Garlic Budder #2] ------ 48% - [CH08 GR7 - Garlic Budder #4] --------- Veg: 38% - 45% | Flower: 45% - 55% --------- General: 30% [Dry] | 45 - 60% [Moist] | 70% [Wet] - [17:33]: Filled a pump sprayer with 4 cups of RO water. ------ Added 1/64tsp of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60] --- Gave the sprayer a good shake before spraying the entire solution onto original #2’s straw mulch. - [17:45]: Checked for roots in the propagation dome, --- Still no root growth. --- No worries! All cuttings look healthy so not concerned. --- Could be due to the colder temps (colder local weather means colder lung room). Probably could lower the propagation dome closer to the grow light, but not in any hurry so going to leave everything as is. --- Misted the top growth with some distilled water. --- Also spayed each Coco Coin a bit. --- Was planning on transplanting today, but will check back in a few more days. - [20:19]: Checked on the 4x4 tent. --- Looking beautiful! --- Both Gorilla Goat phenos have not reached the scrog net yet, but wow! Getting quite bushy! --- The original Garlic Budder #1 is almost at the netting and the original #2 is already being trained. - [20:43]: Took general PPFD readings. ------ Gorilla Goat #1 was around 259 μmol/m²/s which gives a DLI of 11.19 mol/m²/d under an 12/12 light cycle. ------ Gorilla Goat #2 was around 264 μmol/m²/s which gives a DLI of 11.40 mol/m²/d under an 12/12 light cycle. - [20:57]: Took the weekly height and light distance measurements. ------ Gorilla Goat #1 was about 15.5" tall. ------ Gorilla Goat #2 was about 18.5" tall. ------ All phenos were about 37.5" away from the grow light. --- Okay! Introduction - Week 07 Summary - Ensign's log, stardate 8068.69, Incredible grow week! All phenos in the main tent have reached the scrog netting and have been tucking and training them into the squares. Also upgraded the auto-watering system and fertilizer fed the entire tent. In the 3x3, transplanted all rooted Coco Coins into solo cups. Now the clones are looking great and vegging along beautifully. Also topped and dropped the canopy another good 5-6 inches. Buds have already started to swell and growth is continuing to stretch. Next week will be the 3rd week under 12/12 and should begin the first week of flower! Onwards Ensign! Day 02 - Tuesday - 01/21/25 - Total Days: 050 ----------------------------------- Daily Averages ~[+01:00] - Temps: 75.9 °F [24.4°C] - Humidity: 65.7% - VPD: 1.04 kPa - Soil %: [46, 43, 41, 40, 50, 44, 49, 49] ----------------------------------- - [16:25]: Evening check on the 3x3 veg tent. --- Wow Garlic Budder mothers are looking great! --- Canopy is nice and even! --- Checked the propagation dome, --- Top growth looks good! Going to check for roots in a bit. - [16:52]: Checked the Ecowitt soil moisture sensor data: ------------------ [ 4x4 MAIN TENT ] --------------- ------ 45% - [CH01 FP5 - Gorilla Goat #1] ------ 43% - [CH02 G20 - Gorilla Goat #2] ------ 42% - [CH03 GR5 - Garlic Budder OG#1] ------ 36% - [CH04 FP5 - Garlic Budder OG#2] ------------------ [ 3x3 VEG TENT ] ---------------- ------ 48% - [CH05 GR7 - Garlic Budder OG#1] ------ 41% - [CH06 GR7 - Garlic Budder OG#2] ------ 48% - [CH07 GR7 - Garlic Budder #2] ------ 47% - [CH08 GR7 - Garlic Budder #4] --------- Veg: 38% - 45% | Flower: 45% - 55% --------- General: 30% [Dry] | 45 - 60% [Moist] | 70% [Wet] - [16:55]: Okay! Time to checked for roots! --- Ooo yea! --- Woah! Despite the top growth looking a bit stressed, both Gorilla Goat phenos roots are looking great! Wow! Garlic Budder clones had less roots, but also looked great! --- Time to transplant the rooted cuttings! - [17:08]: Took 4 old solo cups (has bottom corners cut for drainage) and marked each cup with the name, pheno number and the date. --- Then partially filled each cup with fresh BuildASoil 3.0 potting soil. --- To help prevent water from leaking out while watering, made sure that the lower soil was well compacted. --- Inoculated each cup with Great White mycorrhizae. ------ Sprinkled about an 1/16tsp of Great White - [17:25]: Took each rooted clone and placed her into a solo cup. --- Made sure each solo cup had enough room for more soil for the sides and top. - [17:27]: Inoculated each Coco Coin with Great White mycorrhizae. ------ Sprinkled about an 1/16tsp of Great White onto each Coco Coin. --- Tried to cover the top and sides evenly. - [17:43]: Gently filled each solo cup with more soil. --- Completely covered each Coco Coin and made sure to tuck the sides snug with soil (but not as snug as the lower soil). --- Evened out the top soil. Now each Coco Coin is about 1/4-1/2 inch below the top soil. - [18:00]: Added some BuildASoil Organic Straw Mulch to the top. --- To help cover the top soil easier, broke the straw mulch up a bit with scissors. --- Time to water! - [18:06]: Filled a measuring cup with 2 cups of RO water. ------ Added 1/64tsp of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60] ------ Added 1/16tsp of Horticultural Coconut ------ Added 1/16tsp of Horticultural Aloe ------ Added 1/8tsp of Mycrobe Complete --- Mixed and poured the solution straight into a spray bottle. - [18:13]: Took the weight of each pheno before watering, ------ Gorilla Goat #1 weighed 270.7g ------ Gorilla Goat #2 weighed 273.9g ------ Garlic Budder OG#1 weighed 273.3g ------ Garlic Budder OG#2 weighed 290.8g --- While on a scale, --- Gently misted the straw mulch of each cup. --- Focused on the straw and sprayed as evenly as possible. --- Misted 5-10 sprays. Waited a few seconds, then misted again. --- Repeated this process until each cup was around 325g --- There was no runoff. - [18:27]: Took the weight of each pheno after watering, ------ Gorilla Goat #1 weighed 325.6g ------ Gorilla Goat #2 weighed 325.5g ------ Garlic Budder OG#1 weighed 325.3g ------ Garlic Budder OG#2 weighed 325.4g --- Not going to use any humidity domes this time and will let the clones harden off in the veg tent. - [18:32]: Placed each cup into the 3x3 veg tent. --- Each cup is resting in the center of the tent on an upside-down pot (for added height and bottom insulation). --- Misted the top growth with some distilled water. --- Done! --- Hopefully the Gorilla Goat phenos recover from the cloning process. They both look deficient compared to the Garlic Budder which look green and healthy. --- The Gorilla Goat clones did have more root growth than the Garlic Budder, so now that they are in soil, hope to see healthy growth soon. - [19:36]: Checked the 4x4 tent. --- Woah! Nice! --- Gorilla Goat #1 has just the netting! --- As soon as they start stretching beyond the netting, the training will begin! --- Under canopy growth is getting full and looking healthy! Plan to do another round of defoliation, but going to let everything grow for now. --- Just stoked that both Gorilla Goat phenos have finally reached the netting! --- Tucked a few more tops under the netting. - [19:49]: Filled a pump sprayer with 5 cups of RO water. ------ Added 1/32tsp of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60] --- Gave the sprayer a good shake before spraying the entire solution onto Garlic Budder original #1’s straw mulch. - [20:08]: Time for another grow upgrade! --- Adding another drip ring and Ecowitt WittBoy smart water timer to the system! --- To incorporate the new timer, also using bits of extra RO tubing along with an assortment of fittings and 8mm flex tubing. --- If all goes well, going to have both Gorilla Goat on full auto watering soon! Let’s go! ------ [about one hour later..] - [21:11]: Done! --- To ensure that both water systems remain independent, had to split the reservoir’s outlet line. --- From there, the setup is pretty much identical to the first drip ring setup. --- Placed the second timer next to the first one. --- To ensure that the 8mm rubber flex tubing does not get pinched when entering the tent, I added a 5-6in piece or RO tubing and shut-off valve for the section inside the tent’s vent hole (the rubber tubing was getting pinched by the tightened vent ropes). --- Once inside the tent, the water line is routed to Gorilla Goat #1’s 5-gallon fabric pot. --- The 8mm rubber tubing feeds straight into a reducer fitting which attaches to 3mm super flex tubing before feeding into the drip ring. --- Eventually plan to incorporate the deep soil meters, but for now, have the drip ring placed pretty close to the soil sensor (to hopefully prevent flooding). - [21:26]: Set the watering triggers for the WittFlow auto-watering system. --- Set the ON trigger to: ------ When CH1 soil moisture is under 40% --- Set the OFF trigger to: ------ When CH1 soil moisture is over 45% --- Okay! The system is all set and now running within established parameters! --- Over the next few days, will keep checking for leaks. - [21:35]: Checked the humidifiers. --- Tanks are still full and no leaks found. Wow! --- Gorilla Goat #2 has a few leaf tips above the netting, but is still just under. --- Both Garlic Budder phenos are both ready for some tucking! --- Tucked all top growth bellow the netting. - [+00:55]: Checked the Ecowitt soil moisture sensor data: ------------------ [ 4x4 MAIN TENT ] --------------- ------ 41% - [CH01 FP5 - Gorilla Goat #1] ------ 41% - [CH02 G20 - Gorilla Goat #2] ------ 38% - [CH03 GR5 - Garlic Budder OG#1] ------ 41% - [CH04 FP5 - Garlic Budder OG#2] ------------------ [ 3x3 VEG TENT ] ---------------- ------ 32% - [CH05 GR7 - Garlic Budder OG#1] ------ 28% - [CH06 GR7 - Garlic Budder OG#2] ------ 41% - [CH07 GR7 - Garlic Budder #2] ------ 35% - [CH08 GR7 - Garlic Budder #4] --------- Veg: 38% - 45% | Flower: 45% - 55% --------- General: 30% [Dry] | 45 - 60% [Moist] | 70% [Wet] - [+01:08]: Filled a pump sprayer with 2 cups of RO water. ------ Added a pinch of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60] --- Gave the sprayer a good shake before spraying the entire solution onto #1’s straw mulch. --- Plan to give a fertilizer feeding tomorrow so just watered a little. - [+01:14]: Checked the 3x3 veg tent. --- Woah! Garlic Budder mothers are just raging with top growth! --- The canopy has shoot straight into the grow light! - [+01:16]: Time to top! --- Using a pair of cleaned trimmers. --- Removed a decent portion of the top growth. --- Went pretty heavy and lowered the canopy a good 5-6 inches. --- Mulched the trimmings. --- Oh yea! - [+02:20]: Clones look great! --- The Gorilla Goat phenos look a lot happier! The yellowing is still present and the damage is probably not going to get any better, but the new growth looks perky! --- Both Garlic Budder phenos are looking quite healthy and growth looking green! - [+02:21]: Checked the humidifiers. --- Tanks are still full and no leaks found. Introduction - Week 08 Summary - Ensign's log, stardate 8087.86, Another great grow week in the garden! By far my best grow cycle and bud growth has really started to swell up! Gave a bloom feeding and plan to top dress in a couple weeks. The veg tent has also been healthy with growth! Did a pretty large topping, but growth has already fully recovered and looking great! Also watered the clones and growth has been overall incredible! Also added more beans to the seed vault and I’m continuing to learn about monohybrid breeding and genetic stabilization. Anyways, onwards to next week Ensign! Shout out to both Old E and Bleezy! --- Got a 10-pack of ‘Heady OG [BX1]’ by Mendo Dope Farms! --- The lineage is a female Headies crossed to a Heady OG male to produce the initial F1 monohybrid cross. --- From what little I understand about filial breeding, once a genetic line has been bred (usually hunted and bred over several generations), the first back-cross generation (BX1) is created by taking a male from one of the generational offspring (F1-F8) and crossing it back to the original mother. --- Based on this rudimentary and probably incorrect understanding of back-crossing, if this were an F1 back-cross, I think the lineage can be labeled as: --- Heady OG [BX1] = Heady OG [P1 ] x Heady OG [F1 ] --- or: --- Heady OG [BX1] = Heady OG [P1 ] x (Headies x Heady OG) [F1 ] --- Anyways, --- These are regular seeds and got an extra one for free! So 11 in total! --- Hyped to gives these a try for a grow cycle in the near future! --- Also had to order a poster which was autographed by both brothers and am stoked to eventually put it up somewhere in the lung room! --- Also included was a set of free sticker slaps. Introduction - Week 09 Summary - Ensign's log, stardate 8107.04, Another great week of growing! Been continuing to expand my genetic library and diving into the world of breeding! Received new beans along with a breeding book which will be an essential resource for future grow cycles and eventual breeding projects. Growth in the main tent has been incredibly healthy! Every pheno is raging with bud growth. The canopy is full and starting stretch upwards nicely. Also getting distinctly different terpene profiles from both Gorilla Goat phenos. Compared to my previous grows, this is by far my best grow yet! Also increased the VPD a bit. As for the veg tent. Been watering as needed, but growth is starting to get out of control! Mother plants are already bushing out and clones are getting a bit tall. Need to cycle and rotate the clones into the larger pots soon. Towards the end of the week there was a minor breakout of gnats so started inoculating with BTI again. Anyways, next week plan to top dress the main tent and will need to tend to the veg tent. Onwards to next week!
