Revegg Pheno Hunt Experiment Blue Grapes (Concord Grapes) Heart Of Gary, Heart Jellies
In this experimental pheno hunt These first 1-2 weeks i spent getting them to sprout and once they established their first 2 sets of true leaves i switched to 12/12 to flower them so i could sex them while small, then i will pick out the smelliest favorites and revegg the females in 1 gallon containers and get them bigger then ill transfer the seemingly best ones to the larger containers while flowering out the smaller ones in the 1 gallons or maybe slightly larger containers to make sure nothing special is missed and double check stability
And this week I was able to start identifying the males because I’ve already flipped to flowering two weeks prior and while they’re still very small and in solo cups, and I will prepare to select all the females to put into 1 gallon pots
REVEGG Time to uppot the flowering babies into 1 gallons so i can revegg them and now that ive selected the females i can try and pick out the smelliest and sturdiest early, i will flower the smelliest early winners in larger containers but keep even the lesser ones to flower and be sure they arent something special later in their grow. This is an unorthodox experiment that I’ve been trying the last couple grows, in order to hunt on a small scale at this point I’ve been able to select out all of the females except three I’m still not totally sure of. I had several plants that either didnt make it above ground or i over watered as seedlings and killed, and about 20 males, i may have actually killed a couple females slightly early as it was still hard to tell for sure the early calyx’s that form at the top almost looks like a pollen sack at first so you have to give it a couple days longer to be sure, so out of 45-50 seeds they all germinated but about 5 didnt sprout above ground and then several i overwatered, and ended up with about 20-25 males (as i said a few may have been killed slightly too early to know for sure if they were female as i noticed some of the others i was unsure about ended up just being the early phase of a nug forming but with this method im noticing the hairs almost show up later than normal, i suppose because there wasnt much of a node for them to form on yet.
So far 14 definite females and the 3 maybes so next round ill have a better idea for seperately then this early or maybe will try to grow them for 2 weeks before doing the flip but im afraid of stunnting them too long in the solos as 2-3 weeks is already pushing it. Aside some possible early mixups for the most part i was able to weed out the males pretty easily and even with the added stress didnt see any signs of herms, and out of the remaining plants i will now revegg
