Put (Barney's Farm - Critical Kush) seed in paper towel/ziplock bag, in seedling tray on top of heating mat set to 81F.
Seed cracked open and tiny root after 3 days.
Moving to rockwool shortly, then into DWC once roots appear through rockwool.
Going to grow alongside Fruit Punch clone!
------
SO, after 3 days in the rockwool, no sprout. Opened it to see that the root has rotted off. No idea why, but it was in a domed seedling tray on a heat mat set to 82f. Am germinating seeds for my indoor garden right now, and most of those popped with no problems. Hoping the seed was just a dud - have another soaking in water now.
The second seed (Barney's Farm - Critical Kush) cracked open after 2 days, tiny root visible but not out, placed in paper towel.
4 days later, still no change, root rotted off. so confused.
-------
Trying Royal Queen Seeds - Critical next. Placed in glass of water. wish me luck.
After 2 days in water, no change.
Put in rockwool - after 3 days, we have a sprout!!
@JUNGLE_B4RNS, I've grown regulars once and I noticed the males grew faster and higher (n=5). Do the hermies from feminised source express their ladyboy parts fast early or is it usually late in flowering ?
@AbroCadabro, ha, i know eh?! i think the "foliage" was deceiving too, because there was only 115g of trim, which is pretty low compared to what i'm used to.
@@Tryhard, smells spicy/skunky and sweet! mixed with my fruit punch smell, so that's probably where the sweet smells coming from. So far it's a great strain and i'll definitely be taking clones next run.
@KonopCh, nope - i used 2x mars hydro 300s in my previous grows... this is my first with QBs. Less overall watts from wall (170w total with QBs, 260w with mars), and less heat loss... cab runs about 2-3 C cooler than with the mars. Hopefully the upgrade brings a better harvest as well!
@JUNGLE_B4RNS, my first grow (1 plant) yielded 6.25oz dried, and my 2nd grow yielded 5.75oz dried, and i made 16g of bubble hash (dry) using the trim from those 2 harvests.
I harvest every 10 weeks roughly (2.5 months).
So, about 6oz dry average per harvest, every 2.5 months.
@biggreens420, I'll probably harvest when i'm at about 10% clear, so could be as early as a few days from now, but more likely 7-10 days away still. I've never flushed a crop before, so giving it a shot to see what the differences are, if any! Good luck on yours!
