Zamnesia Eternity Cup - Grow Diary: Runtz Welcome to my grow diary for the Zamnesia Eternity Cup! I'm thrilled to participate with one of the most iconic strains: Runtz. This journal documents every step of my journey, showcasing the resilience and beauty of this cultivar. Let’s dive into the details! Day 0: The Beginning I kicked off the grow with the tried-and-true glass of water method. It’s always exciting to see those first signs of life, and the Runtz beans didn’t disappoint! They popped quickly, displaying their eagerness to grow strong and healthy. 🌱 Day 3: Seedlings Emerge Despite the temperature hovering at the lower end of the ideal range (21–22°C), these beans didn’t mind at all. They sprouted into wonderful little seedlings, full of potential and promise. Their vigor is already shining through! Day 6: Overcoming Challenges All three seedlings emerged with their seed coats still attached. A small challenge, but nothing I couldn’t handle. Using a pair of sterilized tweezers, I gently removed the seed husks two days after they poked their heads out of the soil. The result? Instant transformation! As soon as the husks were gone, the cotyledons opened up like little green suns, soaking in the light and energy. 🌞 Day 16: End of Germination After 14 days, I transplanted the seedlings into 7-liter pots to see how well the young plants would respond to the new environment. I’m happy to report that all three seedlings took the transplant like champions! 🌱💪 By the 16th day, the second set of true leaves had formed, marking the end of the germination phase for me. Now it’s time for the final selection—space limits me to only one plant. Here’s the current status: Two plants are neck and neck, showing very similar growth patterns. One plant is pushing ahead with slightly faster growth but has a yellowish top. However, this doesn’t seem to slow it down. All three seedlings have vibrant green stems and look incredibly healthy. So far, this batch shows the least phenotypic diversity I’ve ever encountered, which makes the decision even harder. In the next update, I’ll reveal which plant makes the cut to continue this journey. Why I’m Hyped Runtz is known for its incredible flavor profile, high THC content, and stunning visual appeal. I’m determined to push this strain to its limits and showcase its full potential in this competition. With the right care and attention, I’m confident these seedlings will grow into showstoppers. What’s Next? Stay tuned as I document every milestone, from early veg to harvest. I’ll share photos, observations, and tips as I go along, all while keeping my eyes on the prize—the Eternity Cup! Let’s grow greatness together. 💪🌱✨ dein-onlineheadshop.de/ Use my referral code 420Shop at checkout to get a discount on your purchase. Week 2: The Growth Phase Begins The germination phase is officially behind us, and it’s time to kick off the vegetative growth phase. I’ve uploaded a video that showcases the entire start of this grow diary, from germination to where we are now. 🌱📹 Be sure to check it out for a full recap! This week marks a critical step in the journey: Pheno Selection. I’ll carefully evaluate the three seedlings and choose the one that will move forward in this competition. So far, the plants are neck and neck, but slight differences are starting to emerge. By the end of the week, the strongest contender will take center stage. In addition to the video, I’ll be sharing photos of the seedlings as they settle into their new phase of life. Stay tuned for updates on their progress and my final decision. dein-onlineheadshop.de/ Use my referral code 420Shop at checkout to get a discount on your purchase. I have now eliminated the slowest pheno and plan to select the final winner at the beginning of next week. I’m still very impressed by how fast #2 is pushing forward. I suspect that the lighter tips might be a result of this rapid growth. I’ll continue monitoring it closely, as it remains my secret favorite. 🌱🔥 To make the best decision, I plan to review other grow diaries and compare my phenos against them. #1 is also an interesting contender, with slightly rounder leaves and less internodal stretching, but still showing strong growth. The race remains exciting! 🚀 This week, I only provided pH-adjusted water with 2 ml of Root to support healthy development. Next week, I’ll begin topping, which will reveal how the plants respond to training and help me finalize my selection. Overall, the plants are looking very healthy, and I couldn’t be prouder! 🌱💪 dein-onlineheadshop.de/ Use my referral code 420Shop at checkout to get a discount on your purchase. Final Pheno Selection & Growth Adjustments I have made my final decision—we are going with the largest pheno, #2! After scouting various Blueberry strains, I noticed similar growth patterns, which helped confirm my choice. The other two phenos grew evenly until the very end, but now they have been officially eliminated. RIP. 🌱⚰️ The basement is still a bit cold, so I plan to add a heater this week to raise the night temperatures to 22°C. Since there hasn’t been much side growth yet and I’ll be growing in a 60x60 tent with a 20L pot, I estimate that she will need at least another month in veg before flipping to flower. To avoid unnecessary delays, I decided to top her, which should help achieve my goal of a well-filled canopy. 🌿✂️ All three phenos had relatively rounded leaves, resembling Indica-leaning hybrids. I believe I selected the most Sativa-leaning pheno, but since none of them had developed significant side branches yet, it's hard to say for sure. Overall, I’m happy with my choice, and I’m excited to see how she develops in the coming weeks! 🚀🌱

Handling Low Temperatures & Strong Growth This week, we faced low temperatures, but thankfully, the root heater helped to stabilize conditions. Despite the chill, Runtz is thriving and pushing forward with impressive growth! 🌱🔥 My grow buddy mentioned that the light green leaf tips could be a sign of rapid growth—I really hope that applies to the buds later on as well! 🤞 I topped the plant, and she responded as expected. During this transition phase after topping, I always find it tricky to judge whether the plant is bouncing back healthy. When there’s lots of side branch growth, it's clear that everything is going great, but since topping changes growth patterns, it’s not always easy to assess. So far, everything looks solid—the main stem healed well, and the bands don’t seem to stress the plant too much. By the end of the week, the lowest branches have already grown past the main leaves, showing strong progress! 🚀🌿 Since the leaf stems are developing a noticeable red coloration, I’ve decided to hold off on further training for now.

This week, temperatures have stabilized, and the plant is pushing strong growth from the lower branches. Since transplanting into a 30L fabric pot, she has taken on a darker shade of green, which is a great sign! 🌱💪 I’m really impressed with this genetics so far—the training has been well received, and she’s adapting beautifully. When transplanting, I noticed that the roots weren’t tightly bound but instead had evenly spread fine roots reaching the surface— a great indicator of healthy development. Small teaser: You’ll get to see this in detail in the upcoming growth phase video! 🎥🔥 Stay tuned!

Week 6: A Perfect Week This week was smooth sailing—I almost don’t know what to report! 🌱✨ The plant is responding perfectly to the repotting and training, looking strong and vigorous. She keeps growing steadily and isn’t fazed by anything! After moving into the 30L fabric pot, she developed a darker green color, and I’m really impressed by the genetics so far. The roots weren’t root-bound but instead spread evenly with fine, thin roots reaching the surface—a great sign!

Week 7: Preparing for Flowering At the beginning of the week, we installed the net, marking the final stretch before flipping to flower. The plant is growing beautifully, and I’m genuinely impressed by its vitality. All the training seems to have had no negative impact—she’s handling everything like a champ! 💪🌿 By the end of the week, it’s finally time to switch to flower—wish me luck! 🍀 Challenges this week: Temperature: ~26°C Humidity: ~35% VPD: A whopping 2.4! Not exactly ideal, but thanks to the large fabric pot, she had enough water to keep going strong while I was on vacation. 🌱💦 We’re still seeing light-colored tips, and she’s putting on a final growth spurt before I flip the switch! 🌸🚀

nice photos! can you explain me why you keep VPD in 2.4 point?
BusyBeeFarmer
BusyBeeFarmercommented12 days ago
@D33jW, I was away for a week, and the weather got drier while I was gone. The system only adjusts based on temperature . I only have one humidifier for the grow room, and the fan vents directly outside so it doesn’t interfere with the dehumidifier . The system is about 70% reliable and was very cheap. Actually, this was the first time I had an issue with a value, and of course, it happened while I was away and couldn’t adjust anything 🤦‍♂️. The little one is now at a VPD of 1.6, slowly rising to 1.7 over the day. My next investment will definitely be better air management . But for now, I’m setting up the Autopot + Biotaps combo, since I’ll be away for work more often during the week soon.
