So, I seeded my next run. Very excited about the strains I’m going to grow next. I added pollen to select flowers last week and I can start seeing signs of seed production. OMG! It worked I got feminized pollen, pollinated a few branches and now feminized seeds. 😃😃😃😃 Update: after harvest I got some seeds. Not as many as I thought I would. Lesson here is to make sure you pollinate the branches well. Cover as many pistils as possible to maximize your seed count

Once the pollen sacs start to crack, before any pollen sacs open, you cut the branch off and put it into water or very light nutes. I will be putting this into a separate room where I will collect the pollen. I’m going to put the pollen into small containers and label them before freezing for further use and cross pollination to bread my own strain. Before that I’ll use some pollen and brush it onto a selected flower. Once brushed on I’ll cover it with a paper bag for a few days to prevent any others from being pollinated. I will document all my steps as I go, all the way to collecting the seeds.

@BensBuds, That’s great! I’d love to see your grows.

@Kelly, I’m almost more stoked to see your pollination/breeding process than your dank buds. Keep us updated 🙏🏼

@Kelly, ah clever, that way you don’t run the risk of taking clones. I’ve been trying to figure out how I could self an auto without pollinating the whole room. Because from what I’ve read taking a clone from an auto can set the clones cycle back by 1-2 weeks which would cause me to miss the pollination period. So thanks for solving that issue 😂🙏🏼

Good question. All different posts on the web. I’m going to follow the, keep it dry as possible and freeze it. Some say a couple years to longer. All over the board.

Nice Strain to seed! I bet this smokes wonderful. It also has great genetics for crossbreeding. I've been looking into 2 different Indica strains for a breeding project next year. Balck Domina and Granddaddy Purple are the 2 strains I'm planning on getting. I just finished seeding Landrace Thai X (Girl Scout Cookies X Gorilla Glue #4). I'm really happy with the results. Looks like you are going to be happy.

Looking good :)

Looking good! Why the need to keep the pollen branches alive? Surely if you had just hung them up somewhere you still would have gotten the desired pollen?

I love how you’re operating your grow man. You’re doing everything I’m wanting to try once I get my room set up. I was wanting to reverse some of my girls, but I was planning to take clones and self the mothers. Considered just reversing a single branch but I was worried it would end up pollinating all the plants. Do you know of a way to stop that?

How long can you store the mature pollen for?
Kelly

Pollen needs to mature to ensure it’s sucess and potency. Too early and it’s no good. I’d rather let nature take its course. But, you may be right, it may not matter. But, after investing a ton of time and resources to get pollen and have it stop pollen maturation would suck. Lol

I went to Vegas for a week during the stretch. I moved the lights up a little. I wasn’t around to train them. Too late now. I’ll have to deal with the taller plants.

Almost lost one. I pulled it out and nursed it back to health. She’s doing awesome now. She caught up to her sisters. I gave her away to another grower because I planted a secret strain in its place, obtained from from an individual living thousands of miles away.
