Beans I have 4 chocolate mint OG, 4 zombie death fucks, 1 fire OG, and 1 super glue in here. I think I have a plan to flower 3 CMOG and 3 ZDF and have a mother of each strain left over. Space and timing could turn this into an absolute shit show. I've been going against the grain and doing things no beginner should do according to everything I've read since my 1st grow a year ago. Began with 2 plants, 2 strains, 1 tent and scissors for defoliating. A year later I got 20 plants, 5 strains, 3 tents and 10 pairs of scissors I can never fucking find lol. Think I may have bit off more than I can chew this time. Guess we'll see....hahaha

Beans I'm all over the place with what my gameplan is in here. Want to experiment with pot size and difference in yield. Also trying out stakes for training/support so I have better access to all the plants. Cut the stakes so that the short 1s are height gauges for where id like to keep my height during veg and just train them out not up. Long stakes are right around the max height I can handle. Multifunctional and so far I dig it. Transplanted the zdg cmog in the little pots into 3gal bags. Gonna do an experiment with pot size and yield to see if 5gal are worth the trouble. Got 5, 3, 1.7gal pots with 1 of each strain in them. Should be a decent indicator of the difference the pot makes. Recent events led me to a situation where my monster cropped clones got transplanted and some are staying in here. Just until they can find a job and move out. I've got quite the mess going...if I can make it thru this somehow I swear I will never do this againπŸ˜‡πŸ™....(It will be slightly different and probably about 4 weeks from now)

Beans Day 1-So I have no clue what day I started this so I've decided its a new week. Upgraded my lighting in this set up and did some training. Also fed them all. This is my 1st advanced nutrients grow so I'm curious how it will compare. Day 3-fed advanced trio 4ml per gallon, 1ml of floralicous plus, 2.5ml armor si and 2.5ml cal mag Day 6- h2o 1 gallon. Rearranged to make room. Back to the original set up. Day 7- h2o and did some major defoliating. Mostly for height control but also getting a head start on prepping them for flower. Gotta stall another couple weeks or just start them all where they are and split em up when the other tent opens.

Beans Day 1- just let them chill today. Need to work on my training before the weekend is over. Gonna try to fill my space completely with Zdf and cmog and see if I can get 8oz of each. Then gonna do my random assortment of clones together in my other 4x4 and hopefully pull at least another Lb. I'll be shocked if it happens but in theory it sounds reasonable. Day 2- light feeding, 1 gallon of water with nutrients as listed in this weeks entry Day 3- 2 gal of water:6.3-6.4ph. Spring is here so I took some preventative measures against mites or other bugs. Diatomaceous earthed the whole floor ofhe tent along with the plants themselves and all along the outside edge. I got something for their asses year this year. Day 4- did some work training and took the highest point down from 26" to 23" minus 1 branch I'm probably gonna chop n clone anyway. Put the 2 colored lights in today as well. Hoping the way I set it up with give definitive results on how pot size impacts yield and also how the same strain varies given the different spectrum. I'm tempted to begin flowering in a few days then move the 1s I planned on having in my other tent once I've harvested what's in there. Day 5- watered with 6.5ph water. No additives. Day 6- looked at them for a sec but nothing needed attention. Will feed next watering

Beans Day 1- watered lightly. Didn't feel like messing with it so i did the minimum Day 2-🚫 Day 3- watered then realized I needed to feed them. No it has to wait Day 4- still too wet to feed today Day 5- fed advanced trio at 10ml per gallon of each and added 1ml of floralicous plus. Day 6-🚫 Day 7- 2 gal of h2o+ .5 tsp armor si+1 tsp CaliMagic per gallon 400-425ppm 6.2, 6.5 ph. Trained a couple chocolate mint og's that were out of control. Lst+supercropping, took off some big fan leaves to slow taller branches and thinned out some branches I felt were unnecessary. Got the cuttings in water over night, possibly for 2-5 nights if I'm not lazy. Try a new method of cloning that's extremely simple and low maintenance and am u12hr night begins at lights out.

Beans Humidity is out of control. Carbon filter is plugged up, ordered replacement. Humidity was regularly 70% or higher. May need another fan too. Getting worried I may have a disaster on my hands. Hopefully I can keep it together🀞

Beans Day 1- watered Day 2- 😴 Day 3- 😴 Day 4- I need to feed tent 1 tomorrow. Gonna up the nutes from last week since they dont seem to be getting caught up. Can see 1st signs of flowering so I'm gonna experiment a bit with additives and see if I can see a noticeable winner or possibly no difference at all. Day 5- Fed tent#1 14ml advanced trio, 1ml floralicous +, .6ml mammoth p. 1/8tsp flower fuel per/gal. Tent#2 got 2.5ml armor si, 5ml tiger bloom, .6ml mammoth p/gal. Pulled each plant out and cleaned up the bottoms and middles, washed trays and gave a very light dusting diatomaceous earth on underside of leaves. Hoping that will keep any spider mites that think fucking with me again this year will be fun, dead as shit and disappointed. Got a bunch of cuts for clones now too. That's gonna be tomorrow me's problem though lol. Day 6- 🚫 Day 7- well I'll be a son of a bitch...guess what I found? Spider mites. Got to try out my new eradication method I thought up months ago using diatomaceous earth and an air compressor. (Almost a week later and I cant find a mite anywhere 😁) STEP 1- Turn off your carbon filter so u dont plug it up then dust the hell out of everything with diatomaceous earth. I wanted it to look like a thick fog and let the fans blow it all around. I'd go fog it back up every 10-15 minutes for an hr or so. STEP 2- Starting with the worst, pull each plant out of the tent and blow off with 60psi (4bar) compressed air(see video) STEP 3- Inspect the plant and blow off any mites u find with the air gun. I used a LED flashlight to make it easy to see them. STEP 4- After the plant appears mite free give another dusting of diatomaceous earth.(see video) STEP 5- clean tent. Vacuum up all the DE and blow dust out of lights. STEP 6- Put plants back in the tent and start your carbon filter if u have 1. In theory this should take care of current mites and any eggs that hatch. Check daily and repeat steps 2-4 as necessary.

Beans Day 1- fell asleep early from my battle with the mites the night before. Needed to water 🀭. Day 2- watered with additives. Terpenator, flower fuel, tigerbloom, molasses Day 3- fed 15ml advanced trio Day 4- 🚫 Day 5- fed 10ml trio + additives leaves still looked too light. Planned to water today instead Day 6-watered with molasses, terp, floralicous+ Day 7- watered lightly, no additives. Found mites in both other tents so I tried my hurricane of razor blades technique. Seems to have worked much better than any other method I've tried.

Beans Day 1-i have been lazy and not watering until there's runoff up to this point so I'm giving just water even tho they look hungry until I can get the runoff tested and make sure I not screwing myself . Day 2-watered no run of though Day 3- got my head outta my ass and finally did tent 2. I'll post a pic of the results. ZDF appears to be a lighter feeder than the rest. Looks good to me other than that. End of week 8 I'd like to see them down below 300. Let's see if I can pull it off. Day 4- tent 1 run off looks fine as well. Not feeding the little guy in the middle for a few more waterings or I might flush it a little bit. I'll post a pic. Day 5- fed/watered/ph, based on the #s from yesterday. Plants looked very happy Day 6- 🚫 Day 7- tent 1:molasses, flower fuel, h2o Tent 2: h2o. Buds have fattened up a bit. This is where I always think the buds look bigger than any of my others have been at this point of the cycle. They always end up about the size. Lol

Beans This week was rough. Super bummed out about losing my 4 superglues and getting my ass handed to me by spider mites everyday. It's my own fault tho. I put myself in this position and I will get to the finish line. I wanted to get as much experience as possible in a short amount of time and I feel I did that. Now it's time to scale it back and focus on the little things. If all these make it to harvest that will put me at 32 plants harvested from 8 cycles in 15 months. I feel that's a respectable amount of work for a newbie.

Beans The battle continues as the finish line approaches. I might be able to at least walk away from this 1 feeling like it was an even match instead of a loss. Sorry I haven't been doing daily updates the last couple weeks. I've been very busy and may have also been pouting a bit lol. At this point I'm just trying to finish strong, regroup, then get back to it.

Beans Day 1- going to water and check runoff to determine whether I will feed again or begin to flush. Pretty sure at least 2 have had their last meal. Curious to see how well I juggle harvesting 5 strains that will probably all be ready at different times. Guess we'll see soon enough. Day 2- had to get ready for a camping trip, only got runoff in 1 tent tested. ZDF was much higher than the others. Day 3-5, camping/somebody watered as needed while I was gone Day 6- watered and didnt bother checking run off in the other tent. I'm just gonna go ahead and flush now anyway. I'll check it next week. Day 7- sick

Happy Harvest Day!

Buds turned out stony even though almost all my plants ended up getting pollinated by hermies. Yield sucked ass. I did end up with 6oz off the 2 ZDF plants that didnt have seeds. There was only 1 of 6 that was super seedy. To simplify things I'm just going to divide my total yield in half for my total on this and the choc mint. I had 12 plants and 5 strains between the 2 tents. 3 strains hermaphrodites, 2 I didnt find until harvest, seeds from all 5 strains and 8 of my 12 plants. It's too bad cuz I think this crop wouldve been my best 1 yet as far as quality. I think several factors may have been involved in stressing them too much but the biggest was light leaks I believe. Either way, It was a total shit show. I got cocky and sloppy and the grow gods taught me a lesson. I feel more like a real grower now that i have a botched grow under my belt. If youve never lost a fight, you probably havent won that many either.2

Best smelling strain I've ever had. My girlfriend says she thinks this was the best tasting batch I've grown yet. The chocolate mint og was the only strain of the 5 that managed to not get spider mites or hermaphrodite. Best looking buds of the group, in my opinion. Also best smelling and best tasting. It was a clean sweep, this strain won every category. Will absolutely be purchasing again.

for spidermites i always suggest live ladybugs , it's really the only way, works way better than any pesticide because for example a pesticide might infect eggs and mites at 75% efficiency or less, but when a lady bug eats it's successful every time get it? a single ladybug can eat thousands of mites in a day. a they dont crawl into the flowers to die , they just sort of leave the grow room or die and fall into the soil or whatever. So yeah : live ladybugs, you can order them delivered . it's fantastic, and quite hilarious if you think about it.

@CRiSPrGrow, I actually bought 1500 and was putting em in everyday for a week. They helped but i also used Trifecta spray which is a bunch of oils like thyme garlic and peppermint and a little bit of isopropyl alcohol and i felt that was what truly did it. I put like 100 in 1 night and the next morning the same leaves had the same mites still so i got pissed off and let the rest go in my yard and stuck with the spray. I'm gonna use some harsher shit once these dry to kill anything in the tents and the house then make sure the plants are treated and might free and my yard is blasted with the best insecticides I can find and if they still come back I'm going to just give up and join them. I'll live in my tents eating my plants too lol
CRiSPrGrow
CRiSPrGrow commented7y ago
@Beans, you sir, have made me chortle so you're just a guy that orders 1500 bugs because of reasons right? not because of some paranoid meltdown again. shit man i dont like all that pesticides, main thing is intake has a fine mesh on it and no outside clothes in the indoor grow ever... i used BS, BT, various Trychs , and one point could've been an outbreak of white flies when i overwatered the once but they died out, what i like about the beneficials is that if you do the treatment right you dont have to repeat it as much , and BS prevents mold, so what's not to like?
Beans
Beans commented7y ago
@CRiSPrGrow, the hardware store here sells em in containers of 1500. It's not a paranoid melt down if it's real. Then it's a heroic act to protect a bunch of females from harm. I dont use anything on the plants that isn't organic to fight bugs. But once I got the tents emptied out, I'll put the littles in veg out in the garage for a few hours and put the cat outside and unleash chemical warfare on the entire house. I'll do the yard and garage 1st so the cat doesnt bring any bullshit back in and neither do the plants. Then I've considered double sided tape around the bottom of the tent with a nice dusting of diatomaceous earth on the outside. Kinda like a razor wire fence for bugs maybe? Lol. Then also cover the stalk in it and dust the bags good too. Then when I win the lottery I'll set up dish soap misters all through my house and yard that spray everything with dish soap every 30 seconds and I'll have a class 100 cleanroom built 100ft underground with 10 cleaning stations that blow u off with compressed air, then vacuum u, then wash u. Then I'll stop growing and just live down there in fortress where no spider mite can ever bother me againπŸ‘€
CRiSPrGrow
CRiSPrGrow commented7y ago
@Beans, Try also Bacilus Subtilis, or better yet a combination of B.T. and Trichoderma Israelis - these will affect the afids directly, but you might need to spray the leafs too... idk : prevention is the best medicine right? i just bought loads of beneficial myself, clearly it's easier to prevent than to combat an outbreak... sorry man....

@CRiSPrGrow, it's all good bro, I cleaned every inch of the inside of my tent yesterday. Vacuumed the floor and walls and top+bottom of the liner. Sprayed it down with dish soap water then then scrubbed it off, then did the same 99% isopropyl alcohol. Thick layer of diatomaceous earth between the tent and liner plus dusted the whole bottom of the tent before I put the liner back in. Rubbed it onto the seam on the top walls of the liner and brushed it into the fabric around the whole bottom of the outside of the tent and around all vents and zippers. I mixed some into the soil when I transplanted all my new 1s + dusted em + brushed it into the bottom of the grow bags all the way around them. So now the little bastards will have to crawl through several layers of diatomaceous hell to even get there. As long as I dont bring them in and deliver them and I cant see how they'll get in there now. I'm also curious if it would be possible to amend the soil with some kind of pollen to feed predatory mites so they could breed and establish their own infestation. Then I could reuse the soil and replenish the food supply and have an army of anti spider mite soldiers protecting them from beginning to end. That would be neat lol
