From mother to daughter

kannafarmer So this is the preparation for my new season. The idea is to take clones from them all and grow some extra biomass to make FPJ. Really not sure if it will go as planned, I think I'm a bit late on the schedule, but let's see how it goes! For now they are sharing all the same tent (to reduce a bit of the electricity bill). Not being the ideal due to low humidity they seem to be dealing fine with it =)

kannafarmer Second week since the sprout, and they seem healthy. Nothing much to add, but since they are on small coco pots I've been carefull watering at the least the top of the soil every day, to keep it moist and they seem happy. For now they are staying on this until the others finishes so I hope they can be on this at least for one to two weeks.

kannafarmer Thei are getting big and strong and in need of a transplant, starting to show some deficiencies and some stress due to gnats. However I changed my mind about the process that I would take because of timing, and I'll pop another seed to complete my 4 plants. Still want to take clones from them all and probably mainline them during the hot summer and put them to flower at the begining of autumn due to temperatures... No terps left behind xD Let's see how it goes but that is the plan for now. Have this one's grow for the next month and try to flower them before July....

kannafarmer 2weeks since last update, sorry forgot to upload last week.... Just topped them a couple of days a go and I'm planing to transplant them during the weekend for their final pots. I'm just waiting for the last season to dry. During this week and half I started noticing some deficiencies so I feed them some synthetic nuts but I'll go back to biotabs once I transplant. As showed in the photos, I've tried to clone the top I've cut for each one of them. Not sure if for biomass to make FPJ or if I'm going to try some seeds during the summer... Probably both... Let's see how it goes....

kannafarmer So the grow oficially starts here. Just prepared my 50L airpots with about 65/35 coco/perlite and added the biotabs Amendments for a water only plan: 250g of startex per por 250g of silicium flash per por And 5 biotabs per por After transplanting i've prepared a solution with: Great white (forgot to put in the transplante hole =/) Bio enhancer by greenhouse feedings Activera from bio biz BTi from trabe Bactrex from bio tabs Orgatex from biotabs Added about 1l per plant of this solution right after transplant and also configured the blumats to automate the Watering. Since i've put an high amount of perlite i'm working the right setting to blumats since the default is overwatering. Blumats seems amazing in concept however it can be really fidely to work with. I'm considering investing on autopot, and right now i'm finish an opensource project to test something similar... More news about this in a month or só...

kannafarmer First full week (and a few days) on the new pots and they seem enjoy it... still fideling with blumat... one is overwatering (watermelomZ), this one i rhink is fixed now... other is too dry and start showing some deficiencies (raimbowR), just adjusted today, hoping for not comeback to a flood in a few hours.... As you can see i've done some topping and mainlining and tried a FIM on the sweet critical since its the youngest. Also noticed that the light was a bit to dimmed and i was onlybgetting about 180ppfd on the girls and that absolutely justifies the slow growth that they had since transplant... adjusted that as well to about 300 and will adjuat to 400 in a couple of days. The clones started to yellow and dry a bit so i also move them to the side since i also increased the light power I'm hoping that they will explode the next days, but i'm not sure... lets wait and see.

kannafarmer One week as passes and they seem responding well to the topping/mainlining, so i decided add the lst clips and once again they are responding really well to those as well. For the cbd strain since its the youngest and i've just fimmed it last week, i just olayed a bit with leaf tucking and removed 2 big leaves that where creating a shadow for the lower growth. Nothing to say about the blumats this week. I hope they are finaly tuned for this grow. Watered a bit of calmag and activera for revitalizing and added some micro life and seaweed extract to try to stimulate them =) Unfortunately my clones didnt survived. I've brough them to the main tent and i think the light was too strong and they burned out. So i need to get new ones right before flowering or else....

kannafarmer Week 9 and i've made my final topping and have defoliated and kept mainlin. The idea is to have 16 main colas on the thc ones because they are older and the cbd have 10 (i think). Btw the FIMming of the cbd didnt work so i had to top it this week. New light just came up. I've purchased the fc8000-evo from marshydro since that they are in a great deal of almost 40% discount and still have the last, nost eficient samsung diodes. I was a bit indecise about purchase this 5x5 overpowered light but since is a great deal and i can dimm it i think is an awsome fit because i'll have the most uniform ppfd distribution in my 4x4 and the life of the fisture will increase as . Right now its dimmed to about 40% and i have a even 450-500 ppfd on the top of the canopy. I hope they like their new "sun". For now no bad news regarding the blumat tuning but i think we are on the dry side of things... lets see how the new light and posible higher temperatures will affect the ladies and the watering. I'm planning (hoping) to flip them to flower in about two weeks

kannafarmer I've decided do a last lst and by that i'm delaying the flip to flower one more week. I really love the structure and shape that raimbow runtz and watermelon skittles are taking but it has been a long time in veg lol. During this week i'll let them recover for the lst and grow a bit while they mature a bit so i can take a few clones, because since i was mainlining and defolianting heavly that is a bit more dificult. Really liking the new light, massive overwhelming for my setup but i since it was a good deal i hope it will last a long time. Still couldnt control the fungus gnats with the BT from trabe, so i've decided to try nematodes today. From my research it is the best natural thing to do it, however there are a few things that can go wrong like the shipping time and conservation of the nematodes and the humidity of the soil. but in theory BT was also a great thing, so i'm a bit skeptik lol. Lets see how things evolve, and i hope they kill all fungus gnats before flower.

kannafarmer So this week was time to prep for flower... i've made a major lolipoping and defoliation tonimprove air flow and define which tops will grow into flower. The girls where definitly in need of an hair cut, mainly the cbd since i've only topped her. Besides some lst i've found the need to use some supercropping because the cbd plant is too wide so i've try to redistribute the tops on that plant footprint. I see less gnats but they are still in there so today i've watered with some BTi and ordered more nematodes to try and erradicate the pest before resin starts to form. This next week i'll remove 1h of light daily and adjust the ppfd every other day until i reach 900/1000 and 12h/12h.

kannafarmer Nothing much too add this week... they exploded as expected after the air cut and they are in need of another lol. They are in official flower schedulle after a week of adjusting, reducing an hour of day per day until 12/12. Raimbow runtz is a bit yellow and showing some decifiencies that i'm trying to correct, while the others transpire health =) I'll provably do some defoliation before next update because of airflow issues. Nematodes are really really the best thing i've ever used to control fungus gnats, but a bit expensive, and if you re atrying for a perpetual grow in organics it can add up. Trying to plan my next cycle since i've to renew some nuts and there are too many strains that i would love to try lol.

kannafarmer So i literally forgot to take pictures last week so i've skiped it... we are now at the end of week 3 of flower so i belive all streaching is over. Sweet critical is showing to be a bit leggy, pretty sativa feno and the others are a bit more of the usual hybrid structure. Finnaly got the deficiencies on raimbow runtz fixed, again blumat was too "dry" i belive and nutrients stoped being produced by the micro organisms... i've been watering properly with a bit of hydro nuts to fix this and now she's thriving like the others. I was a bit more concious about the watering and how they really can drink during this streach phase. They've reached 4L per day (about a gallon) what was really news to me. Unfortunately i still didnt got the handle of cloning. I've done it a couple of times and the best ones where just a couple of branches thst i left on a bottle of water on the corner of my tent IN FLOWERING LIGHTS! When i try to save them intentionally, on a aeroponics, hydroponics or the simple old "solo cup" with soil/coco, they allways end to die lol... not only with cannabis but with other plants as well, from citrus trees to mint (that is suposed to be the easiest thing to root) lol.... sorry for the rant = Overall this is one of my best work until now mantaining the environment and healthy plants even with the few hiccups that i had, so i'm really ansious to see the end product.

kannafarmer One more week as passes and some colors are startimg to change.this is one of my favourite periods; seeing flowers complete blooming and the autumn start arriving revealing the true colors of each cultivar =). Overall raimbow runtz continues to be the one that "eats" more. Is stsrtimg to show some calcium deficincies again so i'll try to correct it in the next few days, however carefully to not overfer the nitrogen. Lights are at top of performance for this grow and i had to readjust the height because the sweet critical was already touching the fixture. Lets see how it specificaly this one will end. I'm realy curious because is my first high cbd strain, but i decided to try it just to compare with my current legal market regarding quality. Fungus gnats reapeared, nothing to agressive and already used more nematodes to combate them. I belive i have to defoliate a bit more while going to the ripening phase to improve air flow and try to improve some lowers quality. Already start thinking on my next season strains but this time i belive i'll only start the seeds during july since all the clones (i belive) will not make it. Meanwhile i'm starting a 240cmx120cm bed for horticulture and veggies so its possible that i'll get you some fotos when germination starts.

kannafarmer One week more as passed, and the evolution seems to be healthy. The cbd strain as stated suffered a bit with the light but i think is recover after i had increased the light distance a bit. WatermelomZ and tropimango are raging healthy and becoming loud in terms of smell. RaimbowR its an hungry sob ... its been dificult to mantain the deficies under control and now the calcim is really lacking. I dont want to overfert with calmag and ruin my smoke, but i'll already be suffering on the quality and quantity of the harvest... if i like it i'll have to run it again to see its true potencial... Blumats even when not tunned perfectly have been a huge help because all of the strain reavealed different water needs when we are talking about the time when they consumed the most... it gives me the idea that the harvest time will vary as well and that a bummer for me since i dont have a tent to dry... i have to harvest them all at the same time... but lets see how it goes when the time comes....

kannafarmer Nothing much to add, this last weeks i'm seeing the maturation of the flowers, they are gaining volume and becoming kore compact while they are starting to become more diferenciated regarding the smell. Structure wise the watermelomZ i think will win, colorwise the tropimango is a step ahed, if it gets frosty will have an amazing bag apeal. Raimbow runtz seems a bit shy and normal for what i was expecring but i belive the smell still can be a nice surprise... cbd critical is one of the most streachiest cultivars that i had the pleasure to grow but the flowers dont surprise... a tipical critical lemony smell, sweeter that the usual. I know it suffered a bit from light burn and it compromised the bud size and structure, but it was a easy, resilient and fun plant to grow.... Really eager to try this when finished

kannafarmer We are closing on the last weeks of maturing and i can tell that this time i screwed up my times (just because i didnt follow the original plan lol). So i think watermelomZ and RaimbowR are pretty much ready to harvest and i'll provably do it by this weekend. Already got a new small 60x60x160 tent to have a diferent place to dry if this happens again. When growing multiple varieties i find out that this should be a must if you have the space to spare, specially if you are using seeds from diferent breeders. WatermelonZ is really a nice specimen and i'm a bit sad for not having a clone of that... only RaimbowR survived. I'll do a mini diary on that later. Sweet critical cbd is the one with least resin and is the one who is a bit burnt so is pretty dificult to me to access if is time or not, but since it is a cbd strain and already lost some quality i'll be waiting and see how it goes while finishing the tropimango. I'm curious about tropimango. It was a free seed thst i started to grow only for the biomass to produce FPJ, however since none of the clones survived i gave it a chance with the others and turn out a really unique cultivar. So you must expect an havest update on the next days while the other two finishes.

kannafarmer So i know i told you that i would harvest however there arent almost any amber trychomes, so i'm letting it mature a bit more and analyzing the resin daily to try and pick up the best timming. So i'm just watering plain filtered water on blumat this last 3 weeks and let them mature and finish.
