How should I set up my drip watering system for? I currently have it set to water every 72 hours for 15 minutes.

So after actually looking at your diary... Your germinating, you don't wanna set up your drip irrigation just yet. Let your beans sprout and establish their root systems. Unless you have excessive evaporation you shouldn't need to worry about watering after your initial watering-in for several days and you'll be better off just hand watering. Once your plants establish though you can actually get pretty aggressive with watering frequency in coco. Exact amounts will vary on your pot size and consistency. You might water a 5 gallon pot every day or two, you might water the same plant in a 1 gallon container several times a day.

This is a rather dynamic question. The drip emitters should be calibrated in the following general manner: 1. How large are your pot sizes, what is the desired runoff (if any), and a good estimate of your plants' water consumption. 2. How much water does you emitters pump out, as the pump rating may be irrelevent due to hydraulic throttling with the emitter type (for example, I use Netafim Halos for my soil-like mediums and they emit a steady set of 4 drops at once per second, which I can then extrapolate out if I wanted to schedule the watering). 3. Now schedule your emitters such that your desired solution is dispensed at your desired cadence. This doesn't have to be a math problem though - you can always just iterate with trial and error. See how long a single daily or every-other-day session with the emitters takes to fully saturate your pots, then schedule that once daily, and adjust accordingly. 👽

yeah, work the other way... when does the pot need watering? that's your trigger, not a pre-ordained schedule of your choosing. as far as duration, that too depends on flow. if soilles, observe and time it / adjust until you get ~10% runoff from slowest pot. that's your duration as long as you irrigate at a similar dryback. Can always err a bit longer, if not present to supervise. Simply watch it and be consistent about when you re-irrigate -- same loss of weight from pot = same volume of water needed. in some situations you can predict amount of time between irrigations. You can even get familiar with how it ramps up as far as plant size relative to pot size and how you pot up, etc. I generally know when i have to irrigate, but as the plant is growing and increasing pot sizes, it's not a consistent amount of time until a week or 2 into flower for me, YMMV. Strongly suggest supervising any irrigation system and only relying on it unsupervised as necessary... not for a trip to the post office. It may run smooth for a long time, but the moment it fails it's a fucking catastrophe if you are not there, lol. Shit gets clogged, some equipment fails... it is inevitable and you don't want gallons of runoff water on your floor. I once walked away from a rez refill and started doing odd tasks in the tent... dumped about 50 gallons where rez was located, lol. I now stand there the entire time while it refills, because i'm absent minded AF.

Hey mate. Growing with coco. You need to be watering twice a day when they get bigger.

@gottagrowsometime, thanks for the tip. About how big should they be when I need start watering twice a day. I have been trying to keep the coco moist but not soaked. I have never done this before so I'm learning as I grow.
