Bikini Atoll - Atomic Bomb

With a name like Atomic Bomb how could I not name this grow after the famous atomic bomb tests in the Marshal Islands. First bombs seed I've grown, looking forward to the explosion of amazing buds.

Sorry the pictures are just from the very start of the week. Don't know how I missed the pictures in the later part of the week. There will be a big jump in size to next week. Anyways she's doing well, at the end of the week I started to give some very light nutes feeding.

Da Bomb has been under the humidity dome and wow has she taken off. I just got a tall humidity dome because of the very dry and cool winter air. Atomic Bomb and Northern Lights are the first 2 to spend their seedling stage in it and I'm amazed how much faster/thicker they have grown. Easily took a week off their seedling time.

Ms. Atomic got topped and the mainline has started. She's doing well and getting bigger by the week. No issues, no smell, everything is going fine.

Bikini girl has been now repotted into her forever home. She is not in a 16 gallon pot, still under the blurples for a bit longer as I'm waiting to space to open up in the tent with Quantum lights.

My Bikini girl is the BOMB. Love her, she grows fast and thick. She got moved this week into the 4x4 tent, flushed and measured (finally). I've now adjusted her PH and PPM so she should be a lot happier. Unfortunately the awesome quantum light is moved high up 2'-3' right now to accommodate some sunflowers in the tent. So she's not getting the intensity I'd like but she is getting the better light and proper measurements on her run off now.

My little Bikini is becoming big! And I love her, she grows fast and thick. She’s eating like a champ, feeding here around 950ppm and run off is coming out in the 300-350. Great eater and great growing plant. Miss Bikini girl is basking in the light next to her sunflower. 5 days difference between Early Week and Late Week pictures.

My Bikini girl is doing very well. I was a bit worried that she would suffer for light as I'm running a single 480w light high up for the entire 4x4' tent right now, but she is growing like a champ and has big thick leaves and branches. The bikini girl is actually 5 days younger then Northern Lights and 18 days younger then the painkiller. But she's not much smaller and I'm most interested in getting the biggest yield possible from the Atomic Bomb as she's a nice strong sativa and I really like my sativa's. I've let her 2 nodes grow out longer then the Painkiller and the Northern Lights to try and maximize her spread/space/nodes. Her leaves are just massive, they dwarf our hand and I'm constantly taking them off as they are covering each other up and getting into a tangled mess with the LST/Main-lining. I included a tent picture this week with all the extra plants that are sharing the tent as we are heading into spring and trying to get a jump on our vegetable garden.

My Bikini girl is making these MASSIVE leaves, she has a very distinctive leaf compared to all the other girls I’m growing right now. This must be the “Bomb” DNA coming through. Unfortunately I’d like her to spend a little more effort growing the split branches longer, I’d like her to catch up and pass Ms. Aurora (Northern Lights), but she seems to be falling a bit behind. I have her on a more aggressive feeding schedule, feed/water every other day as she was up taking more then her roommates, but that seems to have slowed a touch now. Her run off is coming up now, hitting the 400’s and I’m happy about that. Attached is a picture of my feed chart, April 6th is end of week 9. I’m regretting letting her 2 split go for so long now, wish I would have committed to a shorter T, probably should have topped it 2 node earlier and she’d be at or past Ms. Aurora (whom I didn’t let go as long in the T). The tent is really starting to get crowded now, the Bell Peppers and Habanero's are going to have to be evicted soon.

The majority of the week my Bikini Girl was doing well, I did another split on her, took her from 4 nodes up to 8 nodes now and she handled it well. I wanted to pull the 8 down and out a bit more and I over did it. On the last day of the week I noticed ripping at the 4 node split, on both sides. I’ve taped up the 1 side the other side there isn’t a good way to tape it. I’ll be looking up stuff tonight on how to best help out my girl. I guess I just got too aggressive with the bending for Ms. Bomb to handle. Unfortunately she is falling behind the Painkiller and Northern Lights that are also growing in that tent and I need to get her fixed up and healed up ASAP as we are closing in on the flipping to flower window. I’m not panicking, I know she’ll make it through, she’s a tough girl. I just need to release some stress on her and give her a week to recover and maybe some cloning agent on the wound.

Ms. Bikini splitting issues really isn’t getting much better yet. Either I’ve been too aggressive with her or she just isn’t as flexible as the other girls, or a bit of both. This is the first time I’ve had a plant split like this, Ms. Bikini has split in a 3 places and it’s bad. This week she got a split on the main stalk at the first mainline T, plus she still has one at each end of the second mainline T. Treated each one with some cloning agent as I read that helps to repair. Once side I also use some gorilla tape to wrap it but I couldn’t really close it. I applied the cloning agent to the secondary T’s every day for several days in a row, and the leaves on the sides getting the cloning agent started to get burnt tips all the way down the serrated leaf edge. Clearly it’s soaking up a lot of nutes and causing some leaf issues. Ms. Bikini is definitely getting stunted by this splitting, and my Naughty Nurse (Painkiller) and Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) ready to flip to flower, threatening to take over the tent and eat my Bikini Girl if I let them. I’d like to give her more time to recover but the pressure is on to flip and I don’t have anywhere else to move Ms. Bikini.

My Bikini girl is not doing much better, and I really wish I had a place to put her to keep her in veg while she is healing, but I don’t. And unfortuanlty the tent needs to be flipped to flower so….. Here We Go!. First week of flowering if we want it of not. The main trunk T has gotten worse, so I’ve now added support pins to either side to try and hold her up and closed better. I should have done this last week, but I’ve never had to deal with a split like this and I’m learning as I go. Added some more cloning agent to the split and hopefully she will recover. Moving the sides up to close the split and wrecked a lot of the mainlining I’ve done. Instead of being flat she now is in a U shape and the inside nodes are much lower then the outside nodes and will suffer from some light deprivation due to this. It’s too bad but it’ll be better then loosing the plant all together. The North and South side 4 split T’s are doing better, they still look nasty but they have closed up and the nodes down their sides are doing about as well as the nodes on the other sides that aren’t dealing with the splits. Just got to roll with the punches and do the best job that I can to try and repair the damage to give her the best shot at production and quality that I can. I gave her a heavy prune to help bush up the tips of the nodes and get the light down to the nodes that are now in sub-optimal positions down low.

Ms Bikini Girl is still hanging in there, the wounds seems to be stabilized but I'm still not happy with their condition. I've propped up the ends more but the gap in the middle is still there and they ends just keep falling bit by bit. I think this grow might now start to qualify as HST or maybe just abusive. She is still growing and is still stretching, I'm continuing to treat her as best as I can and hopefully she'll pull through. Added Koolbloom this week and took away the last of the grow nutes, upped the bloom nutes as well.

As you can see my Bikini Girl is actually doing quite well, damage or not. I hate that I have her ends up in a "V" to keep the gaps more closed. Would much rather have her flat so the colas were more even height wise, but this is what it's going to be, I can't risk puller her down more and opening up the splits. She's being defoliated constantly and is feeding well. Her little crowns are now out in full force and her main trunk looks stronger then ever, although small compared to the other girls I have growing right now. She eats the least of all the girls but she is the smallest of all the girls as well. I'm a little sad as I really wanted her to be big, massive, thick, and swimming in crystals.... I'm just not sure she will get there now. Crossing my fingers as we head into the bud development phase.

I feel like my Bikini Girl has rounded a corner this week. You can see from the first 2 pictures of F23 to the rest at F28 she has developed a lot. Her stem is still split but it's getting much thicker and stronger. The buds are swelling very well, in fact I dare say she is easily the front runner for bud size compared to the other girls in the tent at F28. I'm starting to be optimistic that she is going to do well.

Bikini Girl is rocking it hard. He splits are healing and don't seem to be holding her back anymore. Her buds are developing thick and fast. I'm not happy about the training going sideways on me, it really stunted her and I now have buds at uneven heights, so some are getting more intense light then others. But overall I can't be disappointed in her, she has really rallied along well. We've had high ambient temps outside, a little heat wave in the spring and the room has been heating up too much (A/C can't keep up). 2 of my other girls have shown some heat stress and some banana's but this Atomic bomb looks fantastic, even with her splits. She is just loving it, so she might be better suited to handling stress and heat more then the average girl.

My dehumidifier has been a PITA and not working correctly, it's been turning off intermittently and the humidity has been spiking into the high 50's. I've now got a 2nd dehumidifier in the room. I haven't had this issue before but I've never had this many big girl in the room at once. All pictures from F41 Bikini Girl is thickening up well and it feels like you can lick the frostiness off of her like an ice cream cone. The colas are big and round, her branches the thick and strong, she doesn't need a scrog, she just needs good training. So happy with the way she is coming on now.

The frostiness on my Bikini Girl is INSANE!!! Her trichome pictures are more dense then any other strain I've ever grown. Her cola's a stunningly beautiful and the frosty cover is unparalleled by any other strain I've grown. She has healed up well from the splits that happened earlier before flowering. The main trunk split remains but the north and south 4 way splits have almost completely healed up. She's doing well and it done't seem to be effecting how awesome these cola's are. I've started to reduce the feed a bit, but her run-off numbers drop very quickly (she's eating well) so I'm keeping the ppm's a little higher then I normally would at this time. I've attached the Feed Calendar for her so you can see exactly what she got and what her run off readings were.

All pictures are from day F54 My Bikini Girl is going strong, her buds are fat and strong. This week she got fed on the very first day and then just got a flush for the rest of the week. Her buds are phat and thick with trichomes, just touches of amber coming in now. It's only gong to be a few more days and then timber.

All pictures are from F58, aka Harvest Day. These were taken moments before the plant was chopped down. She just got fed water this last part week. The last nutes schedule is attached in the pictures. My Bikini Girl has done great, she is very strong and the cola's are phat and frosty. I will say it again they are the most beautiful cola's I've ever had the pleasure of growing. The trichomes are absolutely stacked, they are denser then any other plant I've grown, way more dense then the Northern Lights or Laughing Buddha that are sharing the grow room with her. Still no signs of heat stress or banana's despite the higher temps in the room. The cola's are a very good size, the trim scissors give a good idea for scale. I describe them as between a baseball and softball in size. She only has 33 cola's and only took up about 20% of the tent so we'll have to wait and see what the actual harvest numbers are.

She grows thick and dense with tight node spacing. Her branches are really firm and strong, but this also makes them more prone to splitting and cracking with aggressive LST. I’ve since started a THC bomb and it proceeded to crack at the main T just like the Atomic bomb. It’s still early, but so far the THC bomb hasn’t split the secondary T’s but they are still fairly small and usually the splitting happens when the branches get thicker. This appears to be a trait of the “Bomb” genetics as I’ve never had a girl do this before and both of my bomb seeds have done this. I fell if you didn’t LST her as aggressively as I did she probably wouldn’t split at all, but this is just a guess as I haven’t grown them is this fashion. The Atomic Bomb grows very well and don’t show signs of deficiency or excess easily. She grows very well, thick, strong, and dense. She eats well, but isn’t the hungriest of girls I’ve dealt with, she needs a good medium feed and that’s about it. However I haven’t pushed her to see if she can take more. She is easy to grow and her grams per sq.m is excellent, I’d happily recommend anyone to give her a grow. Attached are all the nutes sheets from her flower period with the run off data. For those that don't know Bikini Atoll was a famous place in the Pacific Ocean where the U.S. conducted major Atomic Bomb testing, this is why I picked Bikini Atoll as my diary name. The islands (or Atoll as it's called) has so much radiation that no one currently is living there anymore and there is a good chance that no one will be able to inhabit the island full time during our lifetime.
