SmallGrowz Today, the cuttings from Krumme Gurken arrived from Austria.
I ordered 3 x Gscheids Greidl, this hybrid (50/50) strain is a cross between Candy Kush and Colorado OG. THC is listed at about 19%.
The cuttings look great for 3 days of shipping/darkness. I'm going to run the lamp for 3.5 days 24 hours before switching to 18 hours. The lamp is currently running at 30W and 60cm distance, which corresponds to a DLI of about 10 and a ppfd of about 120.
Yesterday, I enriched the soil with about 300-400ml of nutrient solution per pot. Tomorrow, they'll get another 50-100ml. I have 2 x 4/5l pots and one 8/9l pot.

SmallGrowz The cuttings have been in the tent for about 1.5 weeks now. They are currently growing about 1cm per day. The lamp is currently running at 50 watts and a distance of 45cm. Starting tomorrow, I will increase it to 60 watts. I don't know where the deficiency symptoms are coming from; I'm sticking to the schedule and checking the pH value. Maybe it's because the organic fertilizer needs to kick in first. But I'm not going to stress about it.

SmallGrowz Last update of the veg phase. Plants were 27cm on Thursday and now I've initiated flowering almost exactly two weeks after receiving the cuttings. The next update will already be BW 1, currently it's flower day 2 or 3. I had one day set to 15h of light instead of going straight to 12h.
Today, all three plants were flushed with 4ml of grow fertilizer and 1ml of Calmag per liter. Let's see if I can get the nutrient deficiency under control, it would be important for the flowering phase.

SmallGrowz Week 1 after the 12/12 switch is over. The ladies have recovered well from the extreme watering with drainage, and I've managed to get the nutrient issues under control; they at least look greener again. I can't get rid of the deficiencies on the leaves anymore, but I'll just remove them during defoliation.
Right now, they are growing really well. 13cm stretch in one week after the switch, but I have to watch the height; I can only raise the lamp by another 10cm, and if necessary, my SCROG net will have to help out if the clips aren't enough.
I ended up ordering canna mono magnesium and will consider a ratio of 3.5 to 1 calcium to magnesium with the Fumus calculator for the next waterings.

SmallGrowz 2. Flowering week is over. The plants are developing very well. I'm now adding some Canna Magnesium to the Calmag to enhance the quality of the tap water so that there is a ratio of 3.5/1 calcium to magnesium.
Next week, I will do a bit of defoliation and remove a few shoots from below, but just minimal lollipopping.

SmallGrowz 4. Flowering week is over. Luckily, the plants have stopped growing. I'm glad I timed it so perfectly; they shouldn't have grown more than 5cm. The buds are already looking nice and resinous 😋. Due to the bad weather, I'm still having issues with humidity. Currently, it's around 50-60%. According to the manufacturer, there are only 4 weeks left, but I'm assuming 5. I've also started adding Plagron Green Sensation, and I'm very curious about it.

SmallGrowz 5. Flowering week is over. The buds are steadily swelling and already have a slight purple touch. The ladies are really very resinous and the scent is wonderful. Last week it was very warm and dry air, so I had no issues with humidity; my little dehumidifier in the tent is still running 24/7, and I also got a small fan from Vivosun to circulate the air in the lower area. The next few days are expected to be rainy. So humidity will go up a bit again, but as long as it's just for a few days, it shouldn't be a problem.

SmallGrowz FINAL SPURT!
The 6th week of flowering is over.
I think it will be another 2-3 weeks until harvest.
Thanks to very good outdoor weather conditions, I was able to keep the humidity last week between 42% and 52%. The buds are steadily swelling and are already developing some brown hairs. At the end of the week, I think I'll do a bit of defoliation so that some leaves don't touch the buds. My activated carbon filter is slowly giving out; I hope it can last through the last weeks + drying, because it already smells a bit in the room.

SmallGrowz 7. Flowering week is over. All pictures are from flowering day 50.
I think the buds have reached their maximum. The upper buds are slowly becoming milky, but the lower ones don't look quite there yet.
Still think I'll harvest next week, so between flowering day 58-62.
The humidity in the tent was optimal this week, around 40% to 48%.
I think I'll give another update before the harvest:👩🏼🌾

SmallGrowz The pictures are from flower day 56. I'm currently writing the update for flower day 57.
I think I'll be harvesting this week.
The trichomes on the headbuds are already milky, and a few are still glassy/clear. I think I'll harvest in two stages. First the top ones, and I'll leave the lower ones in the tent for 2 days of darkness. Let's see if I can get the trichomes on the popcorn buds a bit more milky.
I've only been watering with Bloom nutrients, about 2/3 or 50% of the schedule. If I water the two in the 4L pots again, it will only be with water.
The buds look really awesome and are full of trichomes🤤 I'm already looking forward to the harvest in a few days!
ERGEBNIS:
#1 Pflanze vorne 4l Topf - 22g
#2 Pflanze rechts hinten 4l Topf - 24g
#3 Pflanze links hinten 8l Top - 28g
Sugar Leafes - 20g

SmallGrowz Looking back, I could have left them for a few more days. But since I don't have a Sea of Green, not all the buds will ever be ripe at the same time.
I sat down for a bit 😳
I think this looks a lot like magnesium deficiency/lockout to me. May I ask what water you're using for your nutrient solution? With such a high dose of CalMag, it's probably osmosis, distilled, or rainwater?
Because, for example, combined with hard tap water that's high in calcium but low in magnesium, this can quickly lead to an excess of calcium (Ca in relation to other cations like potassium and magnesium). This, in turn, can block the uptake of magnesium, even if it's sufficiently present in the soil. But too much potassium can also lead to a lockout of Ca and Mg, of course. The ratios to each other are quite important.
My tap water, for instance, comes with a ratio of 11 (Ca) to 1 (Mg), 110mg to 10mg. For me, it's enough to bring my tap water to about a 3:1 ratio (110mg to 35mg) by adding 0.25g of Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate). You can also do a foliar feeding with Epsom salt solution (and of course CalMag) in case of acute deficiency.
Recognizing a deficiency/lockout is one thing, but finding the cause is the real challenge. Because only then can you reliably prevent it.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you can figure out the cause, get it under control, and I'm excited to see how it goes! 👍
Sending out greetings! 👋
@MajorMeph, thank you very much, I've actually never delved this deep into the subject. According to my water supplier (unfortunately from mid-2023), it has 5.9 mg/l of magnesium and 41.5 of calcium, and I've always added about 0.5-0.8ml of Biobizz Calmag. I just watered with proper drainage and used 1ml of Calmag per 1L.
@GermanGrower416, I have even lower ca7mg values than you in my water. I give 1.35ml per liter of calmag during veg, 2ml per liter in early flowering, and from week 4 about 2.5ml per liter of calmag. I calculated it using a calmag calculator online and haven't had any calcium magnesium problems since then.
@Gruenerfinger85, thanks, it really tastes good and luckily I still have half of the harvest. I would have liked to upload a picture of the buds as they look really great and are rock hard. But unfortunately, the upload button is grayed out. Maybe I'll reach out to support.
@Stony_German, thank you🏻 yes, they really turned into beautiful plants. I would have liked to have the veg stage longer, but that's unfortunately not possible due to the height of the 120cm tent. I'm still looking forward to the yield. Update will follow in about 7-8 days.
Congratulations on the harvest. Small tents with only 120cm height are definitely challenging and require some adjustments. For me, it's a great option to use a tent that was originally intended just for seedlings for an extra harvest. I didn't expect such great results. Enjoy the tasting!
