grassfanatic Went on a vacation and starting this week series with day 19. Plant growth looking good. Time to crank up the light intensity to 50-60% for the coming 2 weeks. Gonna start topping and LST during these 2 weeks aswell Also watering about 2l every 2 days

grassfanatic Typing this at day 26: Flowering is around the corner. Just ordered my nutrients and got my ph meter aswell. Still no smell at all. Plant is not super tall standing 15 cm but i’m expecting it to grow a lot in the coming days. During this week i did some low stress training by training the thickest side branches and pulling them down every time they grew upwards. They grew really nice sideways and now i will stop training and let them grow upwards. Also the light is on around 70% intensity and i lifted it up around 45cm of the canopy so it will trigger more vertical growth. Plant is looking happy. Nutes are going to be fed at the end of this week Installed a scrog net aswell.

grassfanatic Typing this on the first day of week 5. Yesterday i gave a light dose of nutrients to the plant. As bloom is probably about to start at the end of this week. Pistils are showing on the nodes and the plant is looking bushy and healthy. Not super tall but that is expected as it's an indica and the growth spurt is about to start. I'm excited to see where this goes as I didn't have the right tools to measure the nutrients and i used lemon juice as a ph down. As for the nutrients, i gave half the recommended dose for week 5. I will be keeping a close eye to the plant for any nutrient deficiencies and strange side effects. Fingers crossed! Day 35: added calmag to the nutrient mix as i saw some possible magnesium deficiency. Also last heavy defoliation for better airflow. Now i will let the plant fully recover and focus on flowering

grassfanatic First day of week 6. Upped the doses of top-max and bloom. Plant looking happy. Still no smell tho. I guess the smell will start this week. Let’s see how strong it gets… Day 42: 4th day since last watering. Pot still feels heavy. Top layer dry but i can feel moisture in the bottom. Hope she bounces beack

Grow Questions
grassfanatic
grassfanaticstarted grow question 1mo ago
I’m wondering if it is nutrient lockout my plant is experiencing. I did some defoliation on day 40 but now i will stop to not further stress the plant. I use citric acid as ph down and runoff ph is 7.1. Day 41 and still no vertical growthe or much new leaves :/
Solved
Leaves. Veins - yellow between
Leaves. Color - Yellow
Plant. Stem - Red or purple

The initial addition of say, citric acid, will drop the pH – generating citrate ions in the process these will then be absorbed by microbes and plants, increasing the pH again rapidly. Good but not ideal. Had a peek at diary and I will do my best to give you a idea of what I think is going on based on what I see. I'm not always correct so take what you will with a pinch of salt. Your ph was last week up at 7.7, now it sits.7.0 which is fine ok, ph can tell alot of what the medium is composed of. Closer you are to ph of 7 the higher saturation level of the big 3 cations. What are the big 3 cations? Potassium (K+), magnesium (Mg2+), and calcium (Ca2+). At ph 7.0 100% base saturation. Do not add anymore Ca Mg or K. Your massive spike to 7.7 tells me you just keep filling the soil with more and more cations, you do not need. Either that a response from the citric acid. As a cannabis plant grows the medium naturally acidifiys as reactions happen, over time ph will slide down once it gets to around 6.2 I'll reapply more cal mag boosting back to 6.8 or thereabouts. Soon as you go over ph of 7 micronutrient uptake will begin to be effected , lime greening occurs alongside with whatever nutrients were already beginning to run low, this can present as multiple symptoms, if the plumbing is messed up nothing moves. I dont see any dmg to the leaf tips from osmosis so your mediums salt content (ec) is still in a decent range, this is more a excess causing a disruption of the ratio. The three primary plant nutrient cations, potassium (K+), magnesium (Mg2+), and calcium (Ca2+), can exhibit antagonistic effects on each other, meaning that an excess of one can negatively impact the uptake or availability of the others. This competition arises because they share similar transport pathways and binding sites within the plant. Plant is drooping, means water is not moving like it should, your running 81f and 45% not optimal for vpd but perfect for encouraging gas exchange, Potassium is a key player in maintaining proper turgor pressure, which is vital for various plant processes, including growth, water regulation, and stress tolerance. Possible the drooping is from a antagonistic effect of calcium and magnesium disrupting pottasium from uptaking at all. Potassium, calcium, and magnesium are all positively charged ions (cations), and they share similar transport pathways in plant cells. High concentrations of Ca and Mg can compete with K for binding sites on these transport proteins, reducing the overall uptake of K. Hope that helps with your understanding of the problems you see. 🙂 best of luck with your wee plants. 6.2 -6.8 ph 0.3-1.8 ec If you control both of these, and you understand the water cycle, then you know 100% what you see is symptomatic of a deficiency or toxicity of nutrients. Either through actual deficiency or a breakdown in the SPAC waterworks. The Soil-Plant-Atmosphere Continuum (SPAC) refers to the continuous pathway through which water moves from soil to plants and eventually to the atmosphere. It's a crucial concept in understanding plant physiology, hydrology, and agriculture. Gluck

grassfanatic Day 60. Buds looking frosty and trichomes are mostly milky in color. Waiting for the first amber trichomes and i expect to harvest in about 10-14 days. Buds look kinda airy so i hope they are gonna chunk up a bit in those last 2 weeks. Still no smell which is weird as hell. Only smell when i rub the bud and smell it, which gives off a great lemon like smell.

First grow and could have been better. Somewhere i probably drowned her a bit so that could be the reason of the small size. All in all i hope i can get 20g of dry weight. It was a fun experience

grassfanatic Not ideal drying temperatures as summer has begun. Starting the dry at 27c and 52% humidity. I will keep a close eye on the drying process as hot temps could dry it a bit quicker

Its taking P and K from the leaves for the buds which isn why they have pk boosters for flower.Top Max is only humic acid which is essential with organics but its got no nutrition in it.I'd recommend bat guano for P Phosphorus and ash for K Potassium.Bat guano also helps to improve smell and taste. You can use any ash, hardwood is better.I bought the ash Im using now.Guanokalong seel palm tree ash, they also sell guano.I use it with guano but you can buy p and k in 1 bottle. The organic version of big bud is what you want form mid flower.I use it but I ease off on the guano and ash when I do as its to be used from weeks 4-6 which is when they'll put most of their weight on.Watch the advice on here as so much of it is wrong.I see bad advice daily that will harm your plant so tripple check everything. One does does not fit all.Soil reacts differant to coco.Organics are different to mineral and so on.If it doesnt state bio/organic then its man made minerals which are taken up by the plant directly but organic is different. The soil microbes have evolved over millions of years to convert organics into a plant available form which is the main reason why its bbetter.they give the plant what vthey ask for as that is exactly what they do.If they need more nitrogen they atract the nitrogen fixing microbes and so on.Bio Bizz is organic whichh produces better herb than mineral.
