Week 1 - she popped her head out on March 19th and so far so good.👍
Background
Landed this as a freebie in my last seed order and with everything that’s happened on the current cycle It opened a spare spot and I needed a new strain.
Haven’t seen much of her on here but FB says she’s an indica hybrid with sativa dominant traits and tons of frost. They trace an old school American strain with what I hear is a Canadian ruderalis??? Didn’t even know that existed but whateves. Let’s see what happens, she’d be a great addition to the stash and the coco hasn’t failed me yet👍. Thanks for stoppn by👊.
Week 2 - steady as she goes. Decent growth this week as expected. She’s just starting to get er legs under her👍.

Week 3 update - this little girl has started to take off markedly and looks like she’ll also be giver if veg. Keeps up like this👍.
As far as how the new experience is with this cob lighting system; it’s definitely brighter and it’s also bumped the running avg. temp. In the cabinet by about 2 extra degrees. If you’re me that’s a good thing in my cold ass basement. So far, so awesome👍

Week 4 and alls well. Just waiting on transition and the stretch. Tied her back to get a little more exposure to the main stem but I’ll be keeping it pretty simple on this one I think. Wouldn’t mind if she stretched out heavy now that I’ve got the headroom for it. No telling with this strain - it was kind of a one-off when I dunked the bean and I’m absolutely stoked I did. She’ll be somewhat of a baseline comparative to the fim’d cheese auto next to her. Thanks for stopp’n in and checkn er out👍😎👊.
April 9 update - kinda funny the difference that literally one leaf can make. I was lookn her over tonight and noticed a whole bunch of little growth tips with gnarled leaves - just struggling to reach any light they could. Every one of em was covered by this one large fan leaf (see photos). Clipped er off and now we’ve got a small nest of budlets underneath getting full light from above😉😎 - grow baby grow!👍

Week 5 and things are generally proceeding as expected. She’s a little behind her neighbouring cheese and hasn’t started the transition just yet. Think it’s coming but still needs a few more days to notice anything definitive. Got a little bit of leaf spotting on the lower growth which looks like a calcium issue - weird. Plus what looks like a little nute burn. Hmmm, might up the calmag and drop the grow dosages if it progresses🤔🤔🤔. See photos. I’m letting this one do its thing for the most part. Very minimal lst just to get the growth tips spread out. Then again, half the time I make these decisions - I hit the bong and end up doing something unplanned🤪.thanks for swing’n in👊.
Update - yeah, it happened again - gave er a light prune in prep. For flower cuz I think she’ll be there this week. Full 5 litre rinse w/calmag only. Alls good👍
Update - April 15th. Definitely have the start of flower so we’re changing this week accordingly. Still debating running her right into the bloom nutes or give’n er another rinse 🤔🤔🤔🤔
Update - April 17th. Went with one more calmag rinse prior to running up a bloom sched. You can see how quickly she’s releafing after the prune so probably gonna have to strip er much heavier this weekend. Coast’n Y’all 😎👍👌

Week 6 update - flowering is now in session but the stretch doesn’t seem to have taken off just yet. She’s definitely a few days behind the cheese but I am still expecting her to overtake and become the taller of the two - simply due to the lack of HST (see side-by-side photo). For now, her stretch is just starting and she’s now propped up to maintain an even distance to the light (18”) with the cheese. She’s the untouched half of this comparative grow and the side-by-side certainly tells a story (see photo).
We jumped the calmag dosage by 50% and she seems to have really responded well to this. After 2 feedings of straight calmag rinses, things are back on track and we’ll have to look to another defo at some point this week. She just keeps fill’n back in after each prune. Can’t wait to see the buds mature on this one. Other diaries on the forum are later in flower and the frost on these plants actually looks like snow😳 - super cool and can’t wait👍. Thanks for swing’n in y’all!👊
April 22 update - gave her a trim back again today. Pretty solid one too. Hope I didn’t overly stress ‘er as she’s demonstrated some sensitivity. Hard to get a read on this plant. She has her good moments, but often times she looks real pissed off. Of course you wouldn’t be happy either if some asshole just kept cutting off your appendages so it’s all relative really.👍 exposed the budlets now so let’s hope she adds some vertical this week in a big way. If not she’ll be one real squat plant.

Week 7 update - well she’s growing... that’s about all I got on this girl. The stretch has slowed right down and she seems generally pissed off on a regular basis and simply unhappy and droopy at most points of the day. She’s not overwatered cuz I let er dry out tons before every feeding. I’m using smartpots so rootbinding shouldn’t be a problem either. Could be that the lack of training just has her too bunched up??? Who knows. No obvious signs of lockout or anything so maybe this is just how she is. Overall, no issues - she’s just a bit of a runt.
April 28 update - gave er a quick prune prior to a final big defo at the end of this week. We’ll treat her gently for the rest of the cycle and hopefully she can pack on the weight with what time she has left. Thanks for taking a look regardless and appreciate the comments and support👊.
May 1 update - man, she’s a weird one. Lookn great today - better than she has in awhile. Still haven’t figured this plant out.

Week 8 update - yeah I just can’t get a bead on this girl. Last week she spent most of the time really pissed off but over the last few days she’s been praying to her led god like crazy and looking very happy👍. That said, she’s also very dense and needed a prune coming out of the stretch. Speaking of stretch, she’s done very little of that and it’s obvious she’s gonna be a squat one. Another 2” in the last week and that’s probably it moving forward. I’m keeping the defo light because she’s clearly sensitive to all kinds of stressors, I could care less if the final product witnesses some usable bud scraping the medium - but, I do prefer to see more vertical growth in most cases. Oh well.
The scent is definitely starting to come out and we’re getting a fresh, minty/piney scent to her. In comparison to the neighbouring cheese we’re also impressed with the trich. Production. This girl is quite frosty already so it appears she will indeed live up to her namesake👍. My little snow cone😎 - daddy’s so proud😋

Week 9 update - despite some of our challenges this girl seems to be doing well. One crucial mistake that is not making this any easier is that we let er do her thing own thing when we really should’ve spread er out some with lst. We were expecting a stretchier sativa (similar to the cheese) and got a dense, short and compact snow cone. Little worried about the increased potential for bud rot due to how tight and leafy everything is. At this point trying to clean it up could cause a lot of unneeded stress on er, we tried a little prune but she’s just too tight and stiff now. We’ll roll with it to harvest and see what we’re left with. The smell is Gettn super dank and she’s already very frosty. Actually frostier than the cheese and exactly as advertised. Alls still good for now folks and thanks for swing’n by👊

Week 10 update - I’ll be the first to admit that this grow got a little away from me. I honestly thought she’d stretch a lot more than she did and before I knew it she smothered herself right out with dense foliage growth. It’s like the secondary branching has been fighting nonstop to move out but the main of the plant simply didn’t want to spread and stretch itself. Weird... either way, she’s showing to be less further along than the cheese at this point and think we’re going another 3-4 weeks. Well see what happens. I’ll try to prune what I can this week but she’s dense as hell. ThAnks for stopp’n by👊
May 22 update - still get’n caught off guard by this plant. She’s def. behind the neighbouring cheese a little but I’m again starting to think this one’s end is gett’n there as well.
She’s really nice and frosty now.
We’ll see what the next few days holds for ‘er. Still don’t wanna pull the trigger too early👍.

Week 11 update - steady as she grows to the chop. Based on the trichs and general leaf health I’m gonna say this one has another 2 weeks maybe even a little longer. Dialed back the nutes a touch for this week - all in prep to flush next week. She’s a dense, untamed beast which isn’t good for overall bud development further down each branch but it is was it is - I got lazy and just sorta let er do er thing. She’s certainly frosty and plump so the stunted height hasn’t made it a wasted grow by any stretch. Should be somewhere north of 1oz. Post dry🤞. One way or the other - more stash for the summer😎. Thanks again to everyone for the support. I’m not around the site scope’n grows much these days so hope alls well with yours too👊
May 30 update - ok so she’s started to turn and fade now and trichs are ambering out a little as well. I’ve heard she ripens quick so I’m gonna about another week or so.👍. Finish is close at hand folks.

Week 12 update - well, we’ve reached the end of this one me thinks. Final week of ripening and started the flush already. She’s fading fast with a little bit of amber showing right now. Not quite where I want er yet but could chop pretty much any time. Even if we end up a little on the racey side of things that’s not all bad.
Jun 7 update - she’s startn to get crispy and the chop is imminent! Next update is harvest and smoke report y’all! Jazz hands 👐!!!!
Despite her small stature and how densely she leafed out, I am pleasantly surprised with the results in terms of bud production. For some reason she stayed ridiculously short. Nevertheless - there should be a decent supply post dry and cure. Thanks again to everyone for taggn along👊 Probably the last non-pictoral update until we chop er down. Cheers!

This one was a strange one. She never really grew “up”. Thankfully though, she did grow “out” quite a bit, re-leafing quickly and densely. She was also a little twitchy. Very calmag hungry with a slight bit of nute sensitivity too. Overall she’s only getting 6 stars in the grow book. This primarily due to the fact that while the high is excellently cerebral for a sativa leaning strain, it just doesn’t last nearly as long as one would hope.
Taste & Smell: 🍭🍭🍭
Effects: 🍭🍭🍭🍭
This plant flowered very differently than advertised. But the buds packed on the weight tightly and plumped out incredibly wide. Density was decent but not quite as compact as I would’ve expected. As advertised however, they absolutely shimmer in the right light. Tons of frost.😎
We ran this one on an 8 day dry and the boveda packs should do the rest : 1:. Word of warning on the dry - she’s a stinker and it smelled like cat piss in the basement while she dried out (yes, we have a cat and no it wasn’t her - we checked).
There’s a minty, almost piney scent coming off ‘er pre-cure. Maybe a little bit of citrus too. Surprisingly, she’s actually quite smooth on the draw still. Taste & smell get a solid 3 lollipops as I will be lenient if there’s less terps but still a smooth smoke. Effects - Early indications are that we could look at giving the high more than 3 lollipops. She’s quite true to her reviews, a somewhat racey sativa. She’s got a noticeable rush combined with a cerebral euphoria. I could mow the lawn on this all day😎: 1:👌. The effects are great but not overly lasting. A great day time option for sure: 👍
Effects update - following some further testing😉 yeah - we gotta upgrade the rating on this girl. It’s just a solid all around sativa high. Perfect if you want an energetic pick me up and that “in ur head kinda high” that doesn’t leave you comatose👌.
Method 📊
None really. We pretty much let ‘er go in the hopes that she would show us how good the new COB penetration was. We also Needed a couple plants on the grow for a quick turnover and this bean fit the bill. The idea was to defo only but even that proved difficult. The buds swelled out and consumed or twisted up a lot of fans making pruning next to impossible. I do accept the blame of not trying to spread her out a little more. That said, the production was far better than expected given the plants size and despite the density challenges - no bud rot and fairly uniform development even below canopy level.: 1:. Nice.
Medium 🎛️🎛️🎛️🎛️
Coco is the go-to medium in lieu of soil when we grow indoors. Better drainage, faster growth rate (especially in veg.) and re-usable too! The fact that it’s nute neutral allows us to dictate exactly what the plant receives at all times. IMO - more manageable and precise than soil. Include a regular diet of calmag and ur good to grow.: 1:. The only knock is one of its greatest strengths. With better drainage comes more regular feedings. If you prefer to spend less time watering, then soil will get you a day or two more between feedings at most stages.
Yield🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴
I am pleasantly amazed with our turn out on this plant. She never got more than a foot high and still - every bud on ‘er burst out like mad. The grow light upgrade to COB tech. was worth every damn penny. Whether it’s the increased wattage or the spectrum from the light itself, this thing is a beast and I attribute a lot of the success on the grow to this one piece of equipment.: 1:
The numbers... super unexpected and oh so awesome!
Total dried yield - Cali-snow: 4.33oz. That’s back to back to back, record breaking grows indoors.
This one was surprisingly chunkier than expected even at the end. If you look at total harvest yield across both plants for this cycle, that’s 9.95oz. Crushes the record yield per cycle in the old cabinet by almost 5oz: 1:😎👌💪🤩.
The stats say an avg. of 450-500g/m2 for this strain. Based on the rough size of my cabinet the avg. should be 99g/0.21m2. This is proportional to the other 2 grows in the same space. Our actual dry yield harvest - 122.8g/0.21m2. That’s 20% more than the approximated avg. yield per meter squared @475g. Smashed it!💪
Props 👊👊
I’ll start with fastbuds as we recently received some quality swag from them following a DOTM comp. Cool to see that these giveaways are legit and that the growers in this community are getting recognized for their efforts: 1:🤘. If the yield on this 11” tall girl is any indication of the quality of product then I’m scared to see what kind of results I’d see with a taller growing strain😳.
Again, some warms thanks for those who stopped in and took a peek. I’ve been much less active creep’n grows lately - all due to trying to keep up with my own journals more than anything else. Keep rock’n it GD, this community is straight dope👊👊👊. Until the next one - PEACE✌️
@Cannibalgardens, bud quality (in terms of effects) was a huge surprise. Excellent sativa high👌. Worth a grow if u got the beans homie😉 - ya heard it here first! Lol
@Cannibalgardens, thanks very much for that. This girl was awesome and pretty straightforward as far as grows go. Just payn forward the knowledge😉. Thanks for checkn er out dude!👊
Awesome to note that at week 9 only major differences are happening. Puts me a little at ease as I’m growing this strain as well. First time grower and your take on selective pruning and LST is valued 🙏🏽✌️🏽
@CannaGrowSome, cheers dude - really appreciate that. End of the day it’s about what the plant can take. My photo grows are typically a lot more ruthless😉. I’ll swing by and take a look urs for sure. Think this one’s a bit of a runt as I’ve seen others much larger. She’ll still yield for sure but was expecting a much taller plant.😎👊
@@Fingers, funny u say that bud! The last few days alone there’s been visible bulk on em - like crazy changes over just 24 hours. I’m starting to get giddy for sure😎👍
Hey again. Just thought I’d mention my snow is real squat also. Expected heaps more vert growth. Plenty of bud sites however. Man, yours was a bushy beast. I been too scared to cut leaves for fear of slowing bud growth.
@Waters, hmmm🤔🤔 interesting. It’s good to know that cuz I’ve seen a couple on here that are at like 30” and I’ve been wondering if I germ’d Another runt (with my luck lately it’s almost expected). But she looks healthy and green just squat and a little pissy from time to time🤷♂️. As far as defoliation is concerned - I’m a huge proponent for it indoors. It actually has the opposite effect you’d think it would. Once you trim off all the excess leaves the buds not only have better access to the light but the plant also redirects more of its energies to the buds and their growth instead that if the leaves.👍
@Waters, interesting and good to hear that - probably means I’m getting the diagnoses right but still surprised. She’s getting a regular dose of it. Well see. Thanks for taking a look and I’ll swing by on urs too👍😎
@Puffer_Bill, meh - would’ve done a number of things differently if I had the time (summer grows got in the way) but she’s still holdn up well with min maintenance so shouldn’t complain👍. Thanks for taken a look dude - the supported is very much appreciated😎👊
@Waters, interesting - I’ll probably give that a try but I am a little surprised that a foliar worked to begin with. Thanks for the tip dude - we’ll see what happens👊
Im new to this site. I will be attempting a grow of this strain soon, I notice every week you list the nutrients for the plant. Do you give that amount to the plant every day or only once a week? LET ME KNOW PLEASE !!!! :)
@joshisokay99, well this one was done in coco so you’re pretty much feeding nute water every time u water. That said frequency depends on the stage of plant growth - this one roughly 2-3 times a week. Hope it helps👍
@HydroGrowLED, yeah this one was a weird grow for sure. But what was unexpected is how much we value what we have of this. Go-to strain for a short lasting, day time high👍👊
@MissBling, thanks very much for take’n a look! Yeah, this ones my little snow cone - she’s really squat but should yield out decently for her size. Gotta give er another serious trim today - she releafs really heavily. Cheers!👊
