I have been growing these for quite some time. Root bound in a 2 gal pot about 2 weeks ago got transplanted to a 5 gal. These are waiting a couple more days til my flower tent is empty then I’ll weave them into a 3.5 inch square Scrog. My plan is to have a top come up in each square and really optimize the space and quit indoor for the summer and try my luck outdoor with some autos. I am growing: Sonoma seeds Cali Kush CBD. This strain can be up to 20:1 cbd Crop Kind seeds CBDream. This is the second pheno I’m trying. And I got a free pack of 20 random seeds from Peak Seeds. The 2 of the 6 I popped seem to be more indica in structure. I chose them cuz they grew the best and I want 4 indica to keep canopy height even throughout stretch. I may add a Northern Lights and or a CBDream 1 depending on space. I am using a mix of 33% sunshine 4, 33% coco and 33% perlite and it seems to be doing well in the drainage department. I’m really looking forward to making this my best grow yet. If anyone has a good tutorial or video for thinning out and maximizing top cola size I’d love to see it, Cali kush is bushy as F, I topped it a bunch. How many tops for a 2x2 space per plant in 5 gal pot?

March 30 Day 1 Flower. So this past week I decided I’d veg a bit longer so I did a hard strip and exposed the bud sites. I’m very happy with the fullness of this canopy, definitely the best one I’ve done. Pretty pleased with the uniform height as well, going to bend to keep it that way. The trellis net is at 20” and is as low as it can possibly go without snapping branches. Hopefully it will give me enough room for stretch without light burn. 🤞Running a 1000w mh at 50% for the first bit of flower then will switch to hps either 50-75%.

Seems on my last grow I must have had a hermie that I didn’t see. I have found a bunch of seeds so 👎. I did a quick clean of the tent before this round, but is there anything anyone would suggest before I have buds starting? Spray for foliage and or tent walls etc.

Biggest preventative that you can control is making sure everything is cleaned between grows. Some genetics are semi stable, others you can stress the plants into hermie. Just have to spend time and catch them in time before they pollinate the girls.

Apr6 Day7 - Apr13 Day 14 Day 14 today, have had good growth over the past week. Have some purple stems on one plant, even with added Cal mag. Otherwise I think it’s looking good. Had about 4+ nodes of growth since last post. Starting to get some mild smell. Have the light at zip tied to the top bar making about 30000 lumens in the center of the canopy and 20000 at the edge. Still have shadowing about 8” on either edge, but the edge is still growing nicely. The space heater is keeping the tent warmer than last round while lights are out around 70-72 degrees. My humidity is high right now, but will drop it over the next week or so. Added a TNB Co2 on Apr 9, to see how that does, if I get 2 grams more it has paid for itself. I am still bending down tops that are shooting up to keep canopy as even as possible. I also gave a Pk booster at one pinch per gallon

Day 15-Day 21 Day 21: I am ready to cut this down and start over with some plants I have in veg. The video is of today and I think the buds being nonexistent at day 21 of 8-10 week strains is a bad sign and shouldnt waste my time and money trying to nurse it into something. I have 2-4 20” plants taken for clone practice from these plants. I could easily have a 10-12 plant sog. If you’re reading this please weigh in honestly if you think this is a waste of time to finish flowering. It’s incredibly discouraging to not have a clue what is wrong, but by this time there should be more than what there is. I have the light at 50%, at about 42” above the canopy. All I know is I’m 10/10 pissed off. I also gave a Pk booster at one pinch per gallon

Day 22-28 Did a heavy feeding closet to 3/4 strength to see if that helped as the runoff was low in ppm. Added more nitrogen as the new growth seemed a tad yellow. Have noticed a bit of growth, so we’ll see what happens. I am having to water about every 3 days. I did 2 feedings this week to bump up the nutrients and will continue with my one a week for next week and go back to FWFW and see how it goes. I’d like to thank everyone who has commented and liked. It’s really cool to see how big this community is.

So I’m really thinking I’m 2ish weeks behind. My question is: 1)Should I go back to week 3 nutrient ratios to add more nitrogen to help with the needs of stetch phase and lower the yellowing I have or stay at the 5 ratios and just bump them up to a higher ppm? 2)Would it be safe to say that I could defoliate like I was in early flower, kind of a harder defoliation to allow light to penetrate better. I had not seen the plants for the past 3 days as I worked night shifts and Couldn't make it home before the lights went off in the morning. I’m pleasantly pleased with the progress over the past couple days/week and glad it has started to make some noticeable progress. I am wondering about the Cali kush in the front left corner as it’s got some serious stretch happening. I have been doing lst to the tops directly under the hood to try to keep them short. The light is at 50% of 1000w and as high as I can get it in the tent so I’m mildly concerned about it getting too close to the light, but it’ll be what it is unless somebody has a suggestion. R2 seems to be a slow goer but she is stacked. Peak seeds has some kush crosses that according to their website are 10+ week strains and I’m wondering if it’s one of those taking a bit longer to transition coupled with the 2 week delay....we’ll see. I mixed 3 gal worth of nutes to 4 gal of water that’s why the ratios are a bit strange. Just made 3/4 strength. Going to bump it up a touch or maybe full strength depending on what they look like in the next days. Added 5ml cal mag, 2ml hygrozyme, 2ml carbs and 2.5 prosilicate / gal to my water between feedings to keep the ppm down on the feeding to avoid tip burn. I have learned something with this grow and that is, previously I have transplanted too close to flipping to flower and my media held a ton of excess salt due to less root mass in the new media. The tds in my runoff is significantly lower this round and watering are every 3ish days rather that 5-7. Learn from your mistakes and move on. Thanks again for the hundredth time to everyone who’s helped and advised. These girls would be hacked down laying in the back field as deer food without it. 👍🏻

Day 36- 42: There has been some growth this week. I did slight defoliation on all but the CbDream (at this point) to expose buds sites and open up the canopy. Seems to have helped. I have a ton of dead leaves in the underside from lack of light and some yellowing up top when lights are on. I upped the nutrients so that I’m not nutrient deficient after my watering. I’ll watch it for a couple days as the lights out pics are pretty green. Did a watering of 5 ml/gal of hygrozyme, carbs and heavy bud pro. It went in at 5.9 250 ppm and came out between 5.9-6.0 and 600-650. So F-W-F-W seems to be working. Thanks for checking in. Hopefully I start getting some big nugs to put up.

Day 42-49: I had some growth this week primarily on the R3 and some on the CbDream. Very slow on the R2. I’m wondering if it’s just sub par phenotypes. Idk anymore haha. Just waiting to see what happens here. Don’t think I’ll pack it right full next time. And try to concentrate more on 8-12 tops on a manifold rather than 30 smaller ones. Live and learn. I bought an Inkbird heat and cooling controller, seems to be holding my temps and 77 in the day and 69 at night. I decided to go back to week 4 ratios to see if that helps, they aren’t overly different so we’ll see. Runoff for Cali Kush and R2 which are closer to the heater is 5.75 1000 and R3 and CbDream is 6.05-1.2 1400, so plain water for the next couple waterings.

R3 is looking ok, CbDreams pistils are darkening and the buds are getting bigger. R2 has a ton of leaf, with full size fans coming off tiny off shoot branches. It may be better for a sog where it could be removed and defoliated better. Smell is getting to be slightly noticeable even with the carbon filter in place. Just going to keep running it for a few more weeks and see what happens.

Day 56-63: So They seems to be getting bigger and the ones that have bud are tightening up. I’m just letting them go and get what I get. The one in the back left corner is all leaf and is shadowing all bud sites. I’ve defoliated it numerous times and it just leafs right back over in a couple days. The others will have some bud or enough trichomes to make concentrates. The pistils are turning red on the CBDream. The Cali kush buds are getting bigger, but still very light and fluffy but still has a couple weeks to go so hopefully we can get a bit of weight. The smells are quite strong and fruity.

Well they’re coming along. The R3 and CbDream are getting close to start flushing, the pistils are 60% amber. I’m going to have to check the trichomes. I defoliated R2, I’m thinking it’s a kush as there was a ton of single point leaves as does the Cali kush. It also seems to be at a similar point as the CK indicating a longer flower time. Smell is quite powerful, a lot of fruit aromas. The CK is flopping all over because of its spindly branches and bud sites at the top. I have them tied up for support. Hopefully I’ll be done in a 2-3 weeks. Thanks.

This week I did a defoliation, heavier on 2 than the other 2. I will do the other this week. I have started to flush the 2 on the right as they have 50%+ red pistils, 0 red on the left 2. I am hoping to harvest in the next 3 weeks 🤞I am going to rig up some kind of trellis to hold up the Cali kush. They’re flopping over already and I’m hoping to get a bit more weight out it in the next weeks. Going to start checking trichomes and see where they’re at.

Day 83: Not much has changed in the past week. I set up a trellis net over the Cali Kush to hold it up. I am continuing to flush the R3 and CBDream and still feeding the CK and R2 for another week or so. The smell is very strong once tent is open. Top buds on the R3 and CbDream are looking pretty good, pistils are mostly red. CK has 25% red and R2 is about 5%. Thinking I’d like to harvest July 2 if everything comes together properly.

Almost done with R3 and CbDream both are around 500 ppm. One more flush should do it and a couple days to fade out. Cali kush pistils are darkening at a decent rate and R2 is a slow goer, hopefully only about 10 days more for those. Just waiting to finish. Buds are pretty dense on the R3 and CbDream should get an okay amount off them. Have been flushing with florokleen, had good results with that. Going to be checking trichomes next week before I harvest. Looking forward to being done, this has been a trying rounds. Hopefully it pays off with some good medical effects.

I took some samples late last week, inspected trichomes and sampled it in the vape. Trichomes are from half clear half cloudy to 3-5% amber. I’m thinking the CbDream and R3 will be cut really soon, they are fading quickly. The Cali Kush and R2 are coming along quickly. CK was fed lightly as the residual nute levels were low and R2 was water only. Hoping the CK and R2 will get a bit denser, but if not whatever. The effects were all nice, R2 gave me an unreal appetite, CK did nothing (which is its intended purpose), CbDream had light indica effect without impairment. R3 was like a super lemon haze/headband, mild euphoria and head pressure, good for chilling. Looking forward to getting these processed and the next run underway. Thinking some Durban Poison, CBDutch Treat and something else.

Last day. I will be chopping tomorrow, this has been a long grow and I’m ready for it to be done. I took clones of Crop Kings Durban poison and CBDutch Treat and the northern skunk from peak seeds. Going to do a 9 plant sog 🤞as I’ve realized the downfall of mixed genetics in a Scrog. You’re at the mercy of longest flowering plant. No problem, live and learn. Tent is very fragrant from floral to spice and fruit with skunk. Overall a great smell. There will be more to follow in the harvest section. All I’ve done since last week is water and let the medium dry out, a couple days in full darkness and here we are. Thanks, Happy growing 🌱

Great strain for what I was looking for. A nice mellow chill, but not heavy in any way. Super sticky, slight citrus scent. Smooth smoke. So pleased with it that I’ve got another one verging right now. Only downfall is it didn’t harden and get dense, hopefully I can change that this round.

This strain is very relaxing. Great as an evening smoke. Slowed down time. A 45 min tv show felt like 2 hours, but not uncomfortably. Tons of trichomes as far as anything I’ve grown, would be good for dry sift. Has a floral/sandalwood scent and increases with burn (not the greatest aroma) we’ll see after it cures more. I’d describe the effect as pleasant, relaxed, 2/10 euphoric, uplifted, a bit of a body muscular “pump”. I’m thinking this may be Peak Seeds Texada Norther Lights but that’s a guess and will never know haha

It’s hard to know exactly how much weight I got, but it’s all for me, so I dont really care. It trimmed up really nicely, not a ton of leaf. This strain is very relaxing. Great as an evening smoke. This strain is great, whatever it is haha. It is from a mixed pack from Peak Seeds. Nice and relaxing, great for evening smoke. My wife loves it in prep for sleeping. Calms her anxiety and brain right down, but still able to have conversations, watch tv and cheers her up allowing her to let loose and be goofy. Overall a great pheno. Smell is kinda sandalwood/floral. Not the nicest smell, but the effect is nice, especially for a shift worker needing to sleep during the day. Im wondering if it is northern lights or an NL cross. There really isn’t much of a smell to it.

This is the second seed of Crop King CbDream that’s I popped a while ago. This pheno has a sour over ripe berry smell that intensified when ground and the sour is palpable on the tongue when smoked or vaped. Effects are minimal when taken in smaller amounts, but can hit hard with a lot of head pressure when overdone, this may subside with longer cure. Buds aren’t super dense, but I haven’t really been able to get rock hard buds ( any tips would be great). Effects are more indica with more relaxed and calming with some laziness. Kept about half frozen fresh for rosin or water hash, and there was a lot of fluffy shit on the bottom. Learned a lesson about how and why lollipoping is important, and not having too many tops. Anyway, some is better than none. Thanks, Happy Growing 🌱

Wait one more week. Certain genetics wake up around week4-5 and then catch up super quick. My green gelato showed just stretch and some pistols until week4-5 and then budded and at week 9-10 I harvested. Just because a seed company tells you it’s between 8-10 weeks doesn’t mean it’s just that. So don’t waste all the work and time by tossing them away.

@DankBudz, thanks for the response. I’m going to leave it for now. I had a chat with @Mrs_Larimer and got some advice. We’ll see what the next couple weeks brings.

@MaryJaneUSA, Yep, I'm at 3 weeks on my gorilla zkittlez and buds are much smaller than the other strains. But I have every bit of faith it's going to be just as heavy as the other ladies. Maybe even heavier ! Would NEVER toss away flowers with 7 weeks left personally. Crazy shit can happen with these plants in a short period of time. Good luck SAC87 ! Hope shit works out for ya!

Iam so sorry thst you are pissed. I opened the pictures and thought wow, what a nice grow. Ive been watching your video , and i can see preflowers...... is it possible that the tmps are above the 28 degreee=? and yes its like mmjd said some strains need longer toshow flowers.... and need longer to be ready..... well i wont cut the whole bunch down, ad start with clones who may have the same genetics...... iam quie sure in 2 weeks you will have some nice flowers. and last question are they a little yellow or is it the light=? if they are i would up the nitrogen a little because they need it atm... and until finishing the stretch
Mrs_Larimar
Mrs_Larimarcommented6 years ago
@SAC87, ok... i would say stick with the calnesium the hole time( in flower too) and for the next 2 weeks add some nitrogen too... they will need it... and i would guess they are 7-10 days slower than "regular".. but what is regular.......... ive seen classic sativa strains flowering a looooong time.... altogehters it a beautiful grow.. very well done.. and i like your nutrient handling.....happy flowering time... greetings

@MaryJaneUSA, ya from past strains it seems the flowering time is a general rule. Have you found that longer strains take longer to transition to flower? @Mrs_Larimar, ya the temps got up to 85 and more a couple times I’ve found til I found out one of my timers was not working right, but only a short time til the fans came on then would be around 77. The “end of day” pictures are lights off, so if you’re talking about yellowing in those I can add more nitrogen. I do find this bulb looks quite yellow as it’s dimmed to 50%. If you could look at those and tell me why you think about the nitrogen. If I have stunted with heat how how far behind would you say I am? Thank you for the help.

THAT IS A SEA OF GREEN! Great technique.
SAC87
SAC87commented6 years ago
@CommanderCannabis, @MaryJaneUSA, ya it’s a Scrog technique that has made a pretty decent screen of green. There’s 4 plants weaved through a trellis in 5 gal pots

@CommanderCannabis, i believe this is screen of green; scrog, not sog..

@Mrs_Larimar, I don’t think They were flowering the whole time. I think my environment may have overridden my light cycle if that’s possible....but I think I’m done. I’m currently trying my samples the second time through from July 2 and like the effects so ✂️ ✂️

How did you do the canopy shots=? looking awsome
SAC87
SAC87commented6 years ago
@Mrs_Larimar, Thanks, I just hold a pair of blue HPS sunglasses in front of my iPhone camera to cancel out the yellow and hold it above the canopy.

@Mrs_Larimar, thank you very much for your advice. It was very helpful. The Cali Kush CBD is stretching a lot in comparison to the others and ruining my flat canopy haha. I think I’m 2 weeks behind because of a crapped out MH bulb I used the first 2 weeks to try to keep them short.

I have to agree with the others, GREAT CANOPY! You have more energy than I do, close enough is good enough for me now haha Well done. Also, here at day 14, your plant are showing signs of to much light, I see you mentioned purpling witch goes with not enough mag, and or too much light... Maybe next grow back the light up 6ish inches or dimmer/less light... Other than that, clean space, GREAT CANOPY, you should do well Look forward to final result
SAC87
SAC87commented6 years ago
@Fun_Growin, the purpling seems to to be decreasing, I’ve been pumping them with extra Cal mag. I had my 750 w hps 42” above the canopy creating (according to my lumen meter) about 35,000 under the arc tube and 25,000 on the edge. I have read that you want ball park 50-75,000. My growth doesn’t seems to be as far along as it normally is and I’m getting quite a bit of stretch. I am wondering if I need more light. I normally run the 750 at about 30”, then have light issues in week 5. So my thought is do 750 at 32-36” then dim to 50% in week 4ish. I have a picture from today at lights out and everything is nice and green, no yellowing. Any help would be appreciated.
