I have been growing these for quite some time. Root bound in a 2 gal pot about 2 weeks ago got transplanted to a 5 gal. These are waiting a couple more days til my flower tent is empty then I’ll weave them into a 3.5 inch square Scrog. My plan is to have a top come up in each square and really optimize the space and quit indoor for the summer and try my luck outdoor with some autos.
I am growing:
Sonoma seeds Cali Kush CBD. This strain can be up to 20:1 cbd
Crop Kind seeds CBDream. This is the second pheno I’m trying.
And I got a free pack of 20 random seeds from Peak Seeds. The 2 of the 6 I popped seem to be more indica in structure. I chose them cuz they grew the best and I want 4 indica to keep canopy height even throughout stretch. I may add a Northern Lights and or a CBDream 1 depending on space.
I am using a mix of 33% sunshine 4, 33% coco and 33% perlite and it seems to be doing well in the drainage department. I’m really looking forward to making this my best grow yet.
If anyone has a good tutorial or video for thinning out and maximizing top cola size I’d love to see it, Cali kush is bushy as F, I topped it a bunch. How many tops for a 2x2 space per plant in 5 gal pot?
Seems on my last grow I must have had a hermie that I didn’t see. I have found a bunch of seeds so 👎. I did a quick clean of the tent before this round, but is there anything anyone would suggest before I have buds starting? Spray for foliage and or tent walls etc.
Biggest preventative that you can control is making sure everything is cleaned between grows. Some genetics are semi stable, others you can stress the plants into hermie. Just have to spend time and catch them in time before they pollinate the girls.
Wait one more week. Certain genetics wake up around week4-5 and then catch up super quick. My green gelato showed just stretch and some pistols until week4-5 and then budded and at week 9-10 I harvested. Just because a seed company tells you it’s between 8-10 weeks doesn’t mean it’s just that. So don’t waste all the work and time by tossing them away.
@DankBudz, thanks for the response. I’m going to leave it for now. I had a chat with @Mrs_Larimer and got some advice. We’ll see what the next couple weeks brings.
@MaryJaneUSA, Yep, I'm at 3 weeks on my gorilla zkittlez and buds are much smaller than the other strains. But I have every bit of faith it's going to be just as heavy as the other ladies.
Maybe even heavier ! Would NEVER toss away flowers with 7 weeks left personally.
Crazy shit can happen with these plants in a short period of time.
Good luck SAC87 ! Hope shit works out for ya!
Iam so sorry thst you are pissed. I opened the pictures and thought wow, what a nice grow. Ive been watching your video , and i can see preflowers...... is it possible that the tmps are above the 28 degreee=?
and yes its like mmjd said some strains need longer toshow flowers.... and need longer to be ready..... well i wont cut the whole bunch down, ad start with clones who may have the same genetics...... iam quie sure in 2 weeks you will have some nice flowers.
and last question are they a little yellow or is it the light=? if they are i would up the nitrogen a little because they need it atm... and until finishing the stretch
@SAC87, ok... i would say stick with the calnesium the hole time( in flower too) and for the next 2 weeks add some nitrogen too... they will need it... and i would guess they are 7-10 days slower than "regular".. but what is regular.......... ive seen classic sativa strains flowering a looooong time.... altogehters it a beautiful grow.. very well done.. and i like your nutrient handling.....happy flowering time... greetings
@MaryJaneUSA, ya from past strains it seems the flowering time is a general rule. Have you found that longer strains take longer to transition to flower? @Mrs_Larimar, ya the temps got up to 85 and more a couple times I’ve found til I found out one of my timers was not working right, but only a short time til the fans came on then would be around 77.
The “end of day” pictures are lights off, so if you’re talking about yellowing in those I can add more nitrogen. I do find this bulb looks quite yellow as it’s dimmed to 50%.
If you could look at those and tell me why you think about the nitrogen.
If I have stunted with heat how how far behind would you say I am?
Thank you for the help.
@CommanderCannabis, @MaryJaneUSA, ya it’s a Scrog technique that has made a pretty decent screen of green. There’s 4 plants weaved through a trellis in 5 gal pots
@Mrs_Larimar, I don’t think They were flowering the whole time. I think my environment may have overridden my light cycle if that’s possible....but I think I’m done. I’m currently trying my samples the second time through from July 2 and like the effects so ✂️ ✂️
@Mrs_Larimar, thank you very much for your advice. It was very helpful. The Cali Kush CBD is stretching a lot in comparison to the others and ruining my flat canopy haha.
I think I’m 2 weeks behind because of a crapped out MH bulb I used the first 2 weeks to try to keep them short.
I have to agree with the others, GREAT CANOPY! You have more energy than I do, close enough is good enough for me now haha
Well done.
Also, here at day 14, your plant are showing signs of to much light, I see you mentioned purpling witch goes with not enough mag, and or too much light...
Maybe next grow back the light up 6ish inches or dimmer/less light...
Other than that, clean space, GREAT CANOPY, you should do well
Look forward to final result
@Fun_Growin, the purpling seems to to be decreasing, I’ve been pumping them with extra Cal mag. I had my 750 w hps 42” above the canopy creating (according to my lumen meter) about 35,000 under the arc tube and 25,000 on the edge. I have read that you want ball park 50-75,000. My growth doesn’t seems to be as far along as it normally is and I’m getting quite a bit of stretch. I am wondering if I need more light. I normally run the 750 at about 30”, then have light issues in week 5. So my thought is do 750 at 32-36” then dim to 50% in week 4ish. I have a picture from today at lights out and everything is nice and green, no yellowing. Any help would be appreciated.
