Lowbuds Gave them a good bend using wire to develop bottom and side branches in preparation for the flowering space where i'll be using a net to try to cover the space as much as possible, probably moving to flower next week. Moved the plants to the tent now that it's free, going for another week of veg to develop more roots in those big pots, started feeding with TNT complex and a touch of H2O2, net is installed.

Lowbuds Switching to 12/12 after one week acclimation in the tent. Lamp is at 75% for now and about 70cm from canopy, still struggling to find the right height/intensity ratio on this lamp, will slowly ira crank it up to 100% monitoring yellowing of the top leaves. Started fertilising with Bloom Complex and some boost to help trigger flowering. Plants healthy and growing nicely :)

Grow Questions

Lowbudsstarted grow question 3mo ago
At which point should I do a defoliation and clean the bottom third of the plant?

Ultravioletanswered grow question 3mo ago
Different wavelengths of light have different penetration depths. The first 2 to 3 layers of leaf will recieve ample blue and red and green for robust bud growth. Only even begin to think about defoliation once your canopy has a a excess of 2-3 layers deep other wise you are reducing plants ability to perform gas exchange which is a precursor for photosynthesis. The cannabis plant is hardwired as such. Anytime a leaf consumes more energy than it produces the plant will initiate pcd programmed cell death, it will strip all the mobile nutrients from said lead which will turn yellow, this yellow is carotenoid and still capable of photosynthesis. Eventually the plant will detach once it has remobilized everything it can. The only time you want to defoliate is to expedite what you already know plant won't "utilize" later in flower. How do you know? Well thats where experience comes in, you won't know until you watch a plant defoliate itself, then all you do is "defoliate" that which you know won't be used. (wasted energy) There are mechanisms within the plant thay are made to protect from herbivory, pinching leaves as if it was being eaten can trick the plant and trigger responses but this is more during terpene production and the benefits will be a % or two at most. Large Buds don't develop because a lack of energy they lack the ratio of colors to produce proper buds, Green light will penetrate 6, 7 layers, if you supplement side red and blue, you can give th lower parts the 1:2;1 they crave almost removing entirely the need for any defoliation at all. Pruning is another thing.

Lowbuds The first pistils showed up yesterday, Also did a strong lollipoping in the lower branches, removing most that is under the net, might have been a bit extreme on the Zombie Bride but she's been the stronger plant since beginning so I hope that wasn’t too much and that they’ll benefit from it. Still feeding with bloom complex and booster, added some alpha boost to stimulate micro life Lamp is still at 75% but brought it a bit closer Midweek Update: Took them 2-3 days to recover but they're back on the grow track now, added some Power Zyme to last feed and it seems to have boosted them, lamp is now 85%, Zombie Bride still a bit behind but nothing bad

Lowbuds Plants have recovered for trimming, bloom is fully on and the stretch has started. From now on will let the bud site defelopvertically as the horizontal plan is full. Lamp is now 50cm at 90%, no burn so will increase it to 100% this week The plants are getting thirstier, they drink a liter per day, one day with feed, one day plain water, might start to give them 2L every two days instead. Will also cut the booster dose in half for the stretch period. It’s a bit of slow start compared to my last run but i was planning minimum 10weeks in flower anyway.

Lowbuds The bloom is fully on now and buds are forming rapidly, the stretch is on and the plants have gained 10cm the last days. Zombie bride is the most stretchy one and definitely caught up with the others, it’s now biscotti Mintz that’s a bit behind. Pollen starts to form already Still no burn from the lamp, saw some tiny insects in he other day and as there are many in the woods nearby I have to monitor this carefully with garlic spray All in all it’s a pleasure to open the door in the morning they just look beautiful. See you next week!

Lowbuds Despite the heatwave and the tempartures a bit difficult to manage, the plants are doing well, the stretching seems to have reached a stop and the buds a starting to develop, lamp is now at 100%. Will probably start feeding a half dose of phospo plus this week to support the second part of flowering. I’ve also noticed brown leaves under the canopy, I will try that add a fan down there for better airflow

Lowbuds Plants are doing great, especially the zombie bride, definitely one step higher than the other ones, beautiful structure and strong development. Since the lamp is at 100% the pistils have started browning, especially on the gealato kush but I already noticed that on the last run and they still have a good time in front of them. Beautiful smell and sticky hands, fat and frosty calyxes already Biscotti Mintz seems a bit behind and is still developing it’s budsites while the other have already started bulking Realised I’ve been a bit late with feeding phosphorus plus and will correct that this week and maybe add a handful of worm hummus for good measure. Also been spraying with garlic from time to time to repell the few aphids I’ve seen, hard to control with hot weather and windows opened, threw a ladybug in there to help

Lowbuds They growing nicely and smell lovely 💚 Ran into a few issues this week, trying to control the thrips a friend brought over with him (how nice of him) with garlic + soap spray and today I installed sticky fly traps. they are still here but controlled, it might be already a bit late in flower for a good shower. Also ran out of bloom fertiliser over the weekend and there’s been some big leaves yellowing and dying under the canopy, nothing bad, it was a but crowded down there anyway so they’ll benefit from a better airflow, will fix the feed today as I got hold of a fresh bottle Buds are now swelling but they ain’t that big, probably my fault trying to be safe on the light and nute side, next time I’ll dial it up earlier. Thinking of removing the net and installing it a bit higher to spread better the tops and maybe elevate the gealato kush on the left which is a bit lower than the other ones, any thoughts on that?

Lowbuds Plants doing mostly well but there is a mold issue to keep an eye on. Otherwise The plants are doing great, getting sticky and frosty, leaves turning purple. I thought to cut them in 10days more or less, maybe a bit longer for biscotti Mintz that somehow keeps growing larger buds and hasn’t started ripening yet. Was away for the weekend and noticed some bud rot under the canopy, removed the infected part and sprayed with H202 it wasn’t too bad and I added another fan down there. I also took the chance to remove the net which was damaging leaves and causing them to die and rot. RH is a bit too high at the moment due to the weather so I took the opportunity to have a good defoliation down there as well. From now on I’ll just feed them water once the pot is completely dried out.

Lowbuds They are living their last days, chipped the Zombie Bride today as it was more than thirsty and hang it up for dry Alien OG goes in one or two days and biscotti Mintz is somehow still getting bigger, milky trichomes and not so much amber so she’ll get another week

Great strain, second time growing it, kept it a bit longer this time to get calmer effect. Taste delicious, sweet diesel and creamy with a kushy back note, the taste kinda lingers on your tongue for a while and calls for another puff soon after but beware! The effect is potent, definitely happy, all your worries go away and kind of euphoric, just keep in mind that you wont keep something in mind for very long after smoking it. For the appearance, the buds are a bit small, popcorn style, but very dense and frosty with fat calyxes and bright orange hair, quite easy to trim. It has not been the most productive compared to other stains but that can be improved with better care and it's largely compensated by the quality. In all very happy with this strain from Gea Seeds, thank you guys for the free seed that started this, i'll definitely keep a mother of this one.

Amazing plant to grow, strong development, huge leaves and strong stems. Does really well with LST and lolipopping, nice stretching, nice dense and sticky buds with hints or purple, all very identical in shape and size and it smells delicious! Also did resist very well to mould even with 80%+ RH in the last week. Will definitely grow again. Trimming it was a pleasure, all very similar buds easy to trim, nice and round, no fluffy material, just quality stuff even if a bit on the small side. They show pink purple Colors on the inside of the buds and the outside is really frosty with trichomes contrasting again the darker leaves. The trim was also covered in pollen. Nice flowery and citrusy nose with earthy notes. Definitely a banger Taste flowery, sweet and creamy and the effect is full body relaxation, spaced out mind (zombie/amnesia vibe) in a calm psychedelic way, perfect to enjoy a trip at the zoo

Very easy plant to grow, nice bulky buds, resisted well to high RH and bud rot. It has a very sweet and gassy smell, I cannot wait to try her. Now hanging with the others for 7-10 days. Just put this one in jar, pungeant smell of overripe orange and pine, but thick like a soap or shampoo. It smells somewhere between Tropicana cookies and Gelato from my previous grow. First taste is more neutral, woody, with touch of leather. The buds were a bit fluffy and leafy due to not enough light under the canopy resulting in 20gr of lower quality and 30gr of decent looking buds. Lot of pollen, very resinous and sticky, gorgeous scissors hash. Effect on the relax side, full body relaxation and easy train of thought. Will grow again, maybe without a scrog of this time. After one hour, it's also a heavy hitter, but with mental clarity

Decided to chop this one down as well to make some space, it grew really nicely so far and produces the largest buds of this run. Smells citrusy and piney. Will see after drying. This one was the Most productive, with 40g top buds, also larger buds than the other ones, and 24gr lower stuff. Smooth smoke, Perfect for daytime, clear mind and Body relaxation.

I break them, that only make them stronger and I do that every grow. Once I top, when lower branches reach ups one,I bring them down to side and then choose what I leave, but ⅔ plant goes away in Lolipop.
