Aircoholic That was 5 grows in a row of Anesia Seeds and while this time I'm growing one of them as well, I was craving some cheese. Mhhhh cheese! Everything is better with cheese! And as everybody knows, the best cheese grows in organic living soil - at least that's what I heard, and I want to find out. The recipe is simple, take some old living soil mix from a previous plant, let's say 1/3. Add 1/3 fresh Terra Preta, 1/3 of Canna Terra Professional to fluff it up a bit - the roots are really into that! Also add some mycorrhiza to keep the roots company and some basalt rock dust for some long-term silica and pH buffering and this should be ... hand on, I start sounding like I knew what I was doing here, which I don't. I'm just stumbling through the dark, hoping to make some guesses that don't turn out to be completely terrible. Look, all I want is some decent, no good, no fine cheese, don't look at me like that!

Aircoholic She's off to an excellent start, starting to roll into vegetation like a good healthy wheel of cheese. She lifted her head out of the substrate and cracked through the seed shell after 5 days - not the fastest I had, but still perfectly normal and fine - she can take all the time she needs! Now it's about keeping the soil moist enough for her roots to spread all the way through. I want to sail the seas of cheese in the end, not drown the cheese in a sea of microbes and RO water.

Aircoholic Not much to report just yet. She's focused mainly on the roots (not shown in the Foto), building her foundation for a big harvest - at least that's what I'm hoping is going on. She's looking all healthy and well above the substrate, so I don't see any reason for action of any kind. But for how long??

Aircoholic She's growing as beautiful as I've ever seen cheese growing. So far, everything growing according to plan. Not time for Topping yet, but I'm considering feeding some EMs to stimulate root growth.

Aircoholic She's growing so fast. Topping didn't stop her, now I'm curious what she'll be up to. Can't wait for her to stretch, although I'm a bit worried that the ceiling in the grow room might be too low...

Aircoholic Big cheese is growing wild! She's started to stretch significantly, she's also started to show first signs of very early flower - first pistills - but not quite enough to call it flowering just yet. Next week I'm sure she'll have transitioned properly. Giving her some LST help with 3d printed braces, to help her grow tall and bushy. So far I only gave clean RO water, without any amendmends or nutrients, will start feeding CalMag, EM-1 and Growzyme soon, to keep her happy during this phase.

Aircoholic The cheese keeps on growing, stretching really nicely now. She seems to like the nutrients I feed her soil, I fed her a delicious ACT today, let's see how she reacts to that.

Aircoholic No idea if her stretch is about to stop, or if it goes on for a little longer, but her Buds are already nicely developing and even show first signs of trichomes. She reacted well to the ACT and her soil is home to at least one worm, whose castings I found on top of the soil one day. Happy soil, happy plant, happy grower!

Aircoholic She's (pronounced: Cheese!) in full flowering mode now - I'll try my best to keep her happy, feed some nutrients that make the biome in the soil happy, maybe some ACT, maybe some Top-Dressing with worm castings. Gave her some millet-water (from washing millet before cooking - same idea as with rice-water) about a week ago, and she responded really well, with her sugar leafs growing nice and big with more and more trichomes. She also starts to smell in her own characterisitc way - delicious!

Aircoholic Buds are growing, Trichomes are being manufactured, the aroma is getting stronger and it smells so damn nice already - love the smell of young cheese! She looks pretty dark green, a little too dark green for my taste. It seems like someone had a little too much Nitrogen. I'm trying something new this time, well it's not a new invention or scientific discovery or even breakthrough, it's just new to me. It's woodash. Plain old ash from burned wood. 1/2 teaspoon as top-dressing have been added, let's see what results this experiment will produce. Also, she drinks less, but is not nearing harvest yet - I suspect some dry areas in the soil. My solution is a deep watering, basically putting her in a large enough bowl (not fat-shaming her, she's just a big girl!), watering her 4L RO water (with some CalMag) and letting her sit in the runoff and hope she'll absorb some of it and rehydrate the dry areas.

Aircoholic We're entering the phase where there's not much new to report. The buds keep growing nice and strong, she's producing trichomes, that form a white layer and a lovely contrast to the dark green of the leafs. The leafs are still a little too dark for my taste, which indicates too much Nitrogen in her system, but it starts to slowly fade to a more healthy lighter green on some fan leafs. She gives off a lovely aroma already, even though it still smells 'unripe', I can't stop smelling her buds. Now I'm trying to keep on route for a delicious harvest.

Aircoholic Turns out the woodash really wasn't that great of an idea. I mean, on the bright side, it helped mobilize the Nitrogen in the plant, so there's less excess now, but as is the case in complex systems, you change one parameter and it causes nutrient issues as a consequence. That's a lesson learned, right there. Okay, now trying to steer against and help the microbes in the soil to recover. Next week, I might brew some delicious ACT, but I don't want to overdo it, but I also don't want to wait too long into flower for the microbial kick to hit.

@Aircoholic, Cool growmie 👌❤️ Seen some beautiful grows based on living soil and the no till version of it, seems a bit "slower" but much healthier looking plants, it's like watching them grow out in the wild, pretty cool 😜👌

@yan402, it really is a beautiful process to observe! ❤️ You're right, it's "slower", but also more chill, less intervention - it truly feels like watching them grow out in the wild, just letting them do their thing. I like that comparison! 😊👌

Suggest shifting focus to bloom nutrients rich in P & K. Deep watering is a smart move to fix dry pockets and ensure even soil moisture. Keep RH around 45–55% now that buds are thickening to avoid mold. Wood ash adds potassium, but go easy – can spike pH. She's on track – good luck fine-tuning
