Amnesia XXL Auto

I placed the seed in directly in soil on 3/23/19 and covered it with a clear glass. It took 3 days to germinate and is just now at 4 leaves.

Not a whole lot of growth in the second week but I’m expecting her to explode at any given moment.

Still crushing right along. One more set of leaves and I’ll start LST.

The amnesia xxl is the same age as my gorilla glue that has gone into pre flower. She isn’t growing as tall as fast but she’s stalking up. Last week was a round of LST and this morning I topped her just to keep from having a Christmas tree because I’m limited on height until the main tent finishes up and I can get her under the big lights. Even then I o my have 6 feet to work with. Hoping she stays in veg for another 7-10 days so I can get some height out of her. Feeding this week was straight water.

I moved the autos from the budget tent over to my main tent that has brand new lighting with an HLG 550v2. They have all responded well to it. The amnesia is still in veg but looks like she’s pre flower. Kind of surprised she’s gone 5 weeks but that’s ok because it’s given me time to top in week two and do some LST. At this time I’m just going to let her do what she wants from now on to see just how big she can get. I switched nutes to general hydro because of my impending switch to NFT after they are done and I’m comparing growth from my last photos of SSH to see if there really is a difference. Being in a 5 gallon fabric pot she can drink a ton of water with very little runoff. There is also co2 in this tent so I’ll update that.

She stretched pretty good for a soil plant. I’m going to chalk it up to being moved to the hlg 500v2 and giving her some space with 800 ppm of co2. Pretty tight nodes but that’s fine by me. Just wanted to update how this girl is exploding. Had to selectively take a few leaves to get some light down into the center of the canopy and if it’s anything like before I’m sure she’ll respond well. This amnesia xxl by Dinafem May be my favorite to date so fr but we’ll know more about that in 4-5 weeks.

It’s hard to believe this amnesia haze is only in week two of flower! She is kicking butt and LOVING the HLG 550v2 as are her neighbors. I got a little stretch out of her but it appears that’s about it. The colas look like they’ll be about 8-10”. I moved the light down for a day and gave them 85,000 lux and while they are still reaching I don’t think they liked it as much as 65k so I brought it back up. I did take a few of her pie plate sized leaves of just to let a little extra light to the lower sites as well. Thanks for looking and happy growing!

Fearing that I had a buildup of nutrients as my Moby Dick did I did a very large watering of 1.5 gallons to flush her out and take a runoff sample to check the ppm. It came out at 1600 and now I’m on day 3 with still moist soil so no doubt this will slow things down as an over water. I think she’ll be dried out tomorrow and I’ll wait yet another day to let her perk up before I water her again with only ph correct water and a little hurculean harvest and check the ppm to make sure I have her straightened back out. On one hand general hydroponics in soil makes them grow larger but you end up with build up making it necessary to feed with lower amounts less often and with Oregon’s best organic nectar for the gods you get a tasty smaller yet possibly denser product that doesn’t build up as much but still can. The ever loving learning curve of trying to master the grow but I’ll tell you this. If someone ever says they had zero problems on a grow they either don’t know what a good one is or the have been doing it longer than you’ve been alive and you had better take their word as the gospel. Day 29 of flower and I couldn’t be happier with the way she’s coming together. The real magic should start this week and she should start to fill out. Everything is stating to connect and I pulled some branches apart to make sure there was ample light and air to every part. So far my favorite auto to date.

This amnesia is the first auto I haven’t stalled out with over watering or nutrients and I’ve learned that less is indeed more with them. For whatever reason it seems like they get nutrient build up if you don’t watch them closely and at this point she seems happier with 1/2 or even 1/4 nutes or less. I’m getting away from soil on autos for that reason and I’m not 100% sold on fox farms ocean harvest late in the game for any plant as it changes and it makes life harder in my experience even with photos. This lady is starting to really stack up and do her thing and it’s definitely my favorite auto to date.

Starting to fade a little on this last soil grow for a while. She’s started to fill in and I estimate about two more weeks before she gets the chop.

I had a late lockout not by watering too often but too much at once trying to get back to back ppm runoff readings and it was 4 days twice of the roots looking for oxygen. I know I can do better with it because I love the strain I’m going to take it to the hydro setup. Those first 4 weeks are super critical to make the last 8 count. Over all it was fun and Dinafem never lets me down with great genetics and customer service! If you’ve grown or are growing it share your data to help make mine better if you have a minute.
