JamrockGrows Hey guys, newbie grower here! 30/05 - I put them in a glass of water to let them soak up some water for 24 hours and then I planted them in paper starter cups. 4/06 - The first seed broke the soil on day 5 and the others on day 6. 9/06 - most recent picture of the seedling measuring at 6cm. 10/06 - I transplanted them into 3 gallon fabric pots and watered with root juice.

Is fluctuating humidity in the grow room a problem for the seedling stage? In other words is it ok if the humidity drops up and down? My humidifier runs out of water during the night and it can drop from 70 rh to 45.

During lights-off the stomata close up, so it is less important during that time. Transpiration slows in darkness significantly. It is technically more stressful to have larger swings of VPD, but i doubt you'll notice a difference with the naked eye and small sample sizes. could set it lower at night... bet the temps drop too, eh? so it doesn't take the same RH to maintain a similar VPD as you do during the day... VPD should be yur guide. temp and rh should jive together.

When should I transplant these? They are 7cm in paper cups and have been in there for 10 days

Now.........those small cups will already be restricting root development. Go to week 7 in my diary "cannabis conundrums" for an idea of how fast and how big roots grow on small seedlings.

JamrockGrows Hi everyone! 11/06 - We are officially in veg and these girls are looking very happy. I transplanted them to a 3 gal pot yesterday. I moistened the soil prior to transplant and gave about 400ml of water. This is my first time attempting a transplant so it was definitely quite a scary process but I feel like it went well. I look forward to seeing more growth. 13/06 - I’m stoked that plants have started growing so much, it looks like they like their new home and the root juice is doing its job well 16/06 - I watered both plants 500ml with 1 ml biogrow and 2 ml root juice Hope everyone has a great day! Peace

The leaves are curling quite a bit, is this a normal part of growth? 300w light is hanging 50cm above canopy at 40% dim

JamrockGrows 18/06 - We are in second week of veg and the growth has been looking good. One plant is slightly smaller than the other but I’m sure she’ll catch up. I’m looking forward to seeing more growth this week. The next watering will be in a day or two and I’ll just use chlorinated tapwater at pH 6.3 to and then after that I’ll be using BioGrow. I will water without nutes to prevent overfeeding and feed when necessary. 19/06 - Topped one of them and I might leave the other one to see the difference in growth. I have quite a bit of space for tall plants. I watered both of them 700ml of pH 6.3 tapwater. 22/06 - I topped the plant in the brown pot 25/06 - Topped plant in black pot again Hope you have a great day! Peace

What is the goal for the canopy? You should work backward from whatt you want at the end. Forming a plan with no defined goals doesn't do you any good. If you need to fill a larger space with ech plant, then you may want to top it a bit higher than someone who needs smaller plants to fill their space. 2-4-8-16? 6-12-24? Each time you top, it doubles the number of colas. if you start with 2 or 4 or 6+ should be a matter of reaching your goal with the greatest efficiency. There's more 'stratification' when you start with more branches... more apical dominance to mitigate and even out for lack of an eloquent way to communicate this idea. I prefer my results that started with 4 branches after first topping, but i only top once more for 8 colas. ~3 colas per sq ft is about all you need to maximize yield and not overcrowd canopy. some genetics may need more if it's the type that produces smaller than average buds.

No, in the end, there is only the underlying mechanism that performs gas exchange and photosynthesis, opinions or personal touch are irrelevant as it doesn't change the mechanics of it, gas exchange happens prior to photosynthesis, taking off top two biggest leaves doing the most work on a plant that only has 4 leaves of any good size, is not of a benefit in anyway shape or form, lateral branching is encouraged by removing the apex and the hormone auxin with it, taking off fan leaves because its what you wanna do is one thing, the very purpose of fan leaves are to collect energy, taking off 50% of a plants photosynthetic mass does not "put more energy into lateral growth", it simply takes away almost 50% of the plants ability to perform gas exchange, thus reducing its DLI capacity, Primary growth metric is set by the plants ability to capture carbon from the air, it might put more growth into the lateral growth, after it recovers from the loss. But loss is still a loss.

JamrockGrows 25/06 - first day of week 3 of veg, the plants are definitely steadily increasing their size and I wish I put them in a 5 gal pot as they will definitely take up a lot of the space gave them. I topped the plant in black pot again so 4 main bud sites, I will top once more for a total of 8. 28/06 - Watered both plants 1L of water ph 6.7. Im trying to keep an even canopy before flipping to flower in the coming week or two. 01/07 - Watered 1L again but added 1ml biogrow, ph is at 6.4 Hope you have a great day! Peace

JamrockGrows 02/07- Already in week 4 of veg, the plants are establishing their main bud sites well. I have topped twice and there are a total of 8 main sites. I will switch to flower in about another week or so just to let the other strain catch up. I also made a homemade scrog frame as I want to try this method as well later down the line. 04/07 - I watered both plants with just 1L of ph water. No nutes as I’m noticing a few burnt tips. Hope you have a great day! Peace
