Germination

JamrockGrows Hey guys, newbie grower here! 8/06 - I put them in a glass of water to let them soak up some water for 24 hours and then I planted them in paper starter cups. 9/06 - Taproots were around 1 cm when I put the seeds in the substrate. 10/06 - one of the seeds already sprouted after just 24 hours in the soil. This is the quickest I’ve ever seen a seed sprout. Now hopefully the next one. 12/06 - Transplanted the seedling slightly earlier than my other grow to allow for more root growth. I want to try this method to see if I will adopt this for the future. 14/06 - I accidentally dropped something on the seedling and the stem snapped, however this morning I went to check and there is still growth since yesterday. I hope this means all is good. Have a good day everyone! Peace

Hi everyone! Just a question about the BioBizz light mix: How long should I wait before feeding the plant? I plan on using bio-grow by biobizz. And how long will water with the mixed nutes stay healthy for the plant? Thanks

Ec can range from 0.3 to 1.8 before problems will occur, the light mix is around 1.2 giving it the flexibility of being able to add a little extra salts if you wanted in first couple weeks but it's generally not recommended, don't want the ec too high as it's generally recommended to begin a seedling on 0.3 ec but absolutely not necessary although running a seedling at 1.8 would cause unwanted water stress early in life. Once she has her structure and hits vegetative stage, start feeding normally. Best advice to new growers would be to grab yourself a ec metre for soil and keep tabs after each watering, once ec gets low, reapply, always saturating your pot to 5-10% run off. Water water water till ec tells you too, if it gets a little high, flush and reset. Gluck

Is mixing soil with root juice and water prior to transplanting a seedling beneficial? I’m worried that if I’ll add additional water on top it would become too much water. Thanks

Yes it is!! But take in count a few things, first, just add a bit of water to have the soil moisted but not soaked. And then, if you are going to water the plant immediately you don't really need to mix the soil with water. Just transplant and add water with the root juice =)

I just dropped a piece of paper on the seedling by accident about an hour ago, I am supporting her with some garden wire since then but what are the chances she will be ok?

JamrockGrows Hi everyone! 16/06 - We are officially in veg now and the plants are coming along nicely. Despite one of them having a damaged main stem, it’s still shown steady growth which I’m happy about. 21/06 - Watered each plant 500ml with 1ml biogrow and 2 ml root juice. One plant fell over due to a weak stem but is now supported. Have a good day everyone! Peace

JamrockGrows Hi everyone! 23/06 - Today marks week two of veg. They are looking very different to the other strain I’m growing which is exciting. Despite both of them having taken some damage to their stem, they bounced back. 28/06 - After letting them grow for quite some time I decided to apply LST to both of the plants to create an even canopy height when I flip. Have a good day everyone! Peace

JamrockGrows 30/06 - We are in week 3 of veg now. I implemented LST on these plants instead of topping. I have two other plants I’m topping and I just want to play around a bit with different options as this is my first run where I made it so far. I am still trying to maintain an even canopy and I’ll be building a frame for a scrog net in the coming week. 01/07 - Watered both plants 800ml of water with 2ml of root juice and 1ml bio grow each. Have a good day everyone! Peace
