Germination
2mo ago
MindFlowers68 The seed(s) were soaked overnight with regular filtered water that was aerated. Seeds were then placed in 1 gal plastic pots. I usually start my seeds in 5 gal fabric pots but I was limited on space. Also doing more strains at one time than usual so I can have some variety of clones available for friends and family. Instead I decided to germinate my seeds in 1 gal this time and see how things went but had a harder time with a few of them. It was not until the seedlings got fee compost tea they started to take off. I was unable to get vermiculite or perlite at the store at the time of starting the seeds so I mixed some violet mix i had sitting around had some mixed in it. The mix was mostly peat and lava rock left over and worm castings with some gia green 4-4-4 and glacial rock dust. Mosquito bits were also added. Once the seeds sprouted I added some microbes and fungi powder. In the future If I have the space will stick to doing my seed starting in 3-5 gal fabric pots.

MindFlowers68 Seedlings all growing at expected rate. Added soluble root zone to the seedlings again, and they got their first feeding. Some liquid kelp and cal-mag. They were only watered once for the whole week. The PPFD at the canopy level was set to around 250 with my my lights at 100 percent at the top of the tent.

MindFlowers68 Everything is looking great with her this week. She was kind of small at the beggining of the week but at the end of the week she was putting on some nice green lush new growth. Was fed once with liquid kelp and cal-mag.

MindFlowers68 Some of the plants showing more signs of yellowing from watering issues and ph issues. Luckily I was able to get a nice strong batch of Boogie Brew compost tea made and gave them all a nice soak and bath with it. Within two days all but one of the plants bounced back. Now that the plants are able to fend for themselves a little better was a good opportunity to try to harden them off the ones going outside to the elements outside. I did so by placing on a shaded part of my deck for a few hours. I was also able to get my tent inside ready and they were moved from the small cool grows tent to my 4x8 tent with my big lights. I adjusted the light to be around 500 PPFD at canopy.

MindFlowers68 I am liking what Im seeing with the structure of this plant. I gave a slight haircut to the bottom and topped the main stem and tucked the leaves, watered once with my normal feed and left her alone and by end of week shaping up good and looking like I will be able to take a few clones soon.

MindFlowers68 With the other plants put of the tent I can start thinking about getting my scrog net in and begin developing the canopy level. I usually have already vegged plants moving from another tent into this flower tent and have to bend quite dramatically to get to fit under the net but this time I should be able to train her into without snapping branches like I seem to do. I'm also hoping that I can cut a week or two off of my veg time too in the process. She got plain water early in the week and the cal-mag/kelp solution towards the end of the week. Going to top dress and fed with some compost tea this week to get those feed roots going and try to mulch the top to prevent them from air pruning off. I haven't really been able to think about mulch because of the other plants I had in he way. I dont think i want to use pine shavings like i did last time just because it makes it harder to top dress if i have to.

MindFlowers68 I was able to get the other plants out and set up the scrog net this week. Got topped off with BSF frass and neem seed meal and watered with 600 ppm compost tea early in the week. Later in the week was given water with a little cal-mag to ph it down. I set up the scrog net halfway through the week and looks like I caught it at the perfect time. I still need to clean up the bottoms but I was waiting until I was ready to take clones. I should be able to get them this week. Also readjust light intensity at the canopy level.

MindFlowers68 Mainly just tucking this week along with feeding and watering. Been trying not to defoliate at all until before i flip to flower. I found out that my yellow leaf tips are actually from underwatering not overwatering like I'm used to. I also noticed that my widow had the same problem that spot i wonder if its because its next to the air inlet. I top dressed with a mix of my dry amendments, and dry boogie brew boost and base. Along with frass Gia green 4-4-4, rock dust, fish bone meal. Watered in with some fish hydrolysate followed by my kelp and cal-mag solution. They also got some boogie brew later in the week.

MindFlowers68 Overall shes growing great and filling the net very quickly. She is showing some tacoing more on the upper leaves and some slight yellowing. Not sure if it is too much airflow or what but she seems to be drinking a lot. The other plant in the tent is looking okay, but also the plant I had in the same spot as this last run started to do the same thing so I'm wondering id it it more environmental microclimate thing. Its nothing I don't think she wont outgrow but it has my attention and I have a close eye onher. I only watered once this week with compost tea, kelp and cal mag 700 ppm.

MindFlowers68 She is growing so fast. Shes filled the net up and starting to go into the neighboring net. I was going to flip to flower after this week but decided to go one more and let the other tent catch up too. I was able to clean up everything under the net that is unneeded or in the way and took cuttings along the way. Then I top dressed with 1 cup GG 4-4-4, 1 cup fish bone meal, 1/3 cup each of neem seed meal, insect frass, and GG glacial rock dust. Then added the compost tea grounds on top then water in with boogie brew. The plants got one other watering just cal mag to ph it down earlier in the week. I moved the light up as high as i could with some clips i had laying around to try and see if that helps the slight tacoing and to give a little extra headroom for flower. The light seems to cast better on the tent now as a result and the heat of the light is held farther away from the canopy.

MindFlowers68 Shes taking off like crazy and stretching like I already flipped the lights. The tops still start out tacoed and slightly yellow but as soon as the leaves mature a little they flatten out and green fills in where they were yellow. I figured at the rate shes going and the amount of water being taken up shes just a little hungry. I watered 3 times this week first with epsom salt and potassium sulphate. Second time with liquid fish. And lastly with compost tea. She drank almost 8 gallons one day, and two days later was thirsty again.

MindFlowers68 Going into first week of flower shes stretching a ton. The node spacing is getting closer though and looking real nice. Still not exactly sure whats going on with the taco. I fleshed the pot and got a high pom ready but i assume all my other plants are similar. I think maybe just been under watering her. I watered twice heavy this week with runoff and bumped the light up and by end of week praying super hard. So hoping she'll start to bounce back soon. I top dressed the soil because the level was so low and I think that may have been leading to some stress as well. Overall shes hige and looking amazing. I added another net because I anticipate heavy buds I don't feel like trying to support after the fact.

MindFlowers68 I used the two extra high cfm bars from the kit to add to the gorilla tent. The temps are hotter than I would like but the plants actually seem to be liking it. The lights running a little brighter and running the dehumidifier in the lung room at night is helping keep the humidity an vdp in check but at expense of being a little warmer. It should start to cool down though and I will adjust the lights after stretch. Got watered twice this week once just cal mag to ph water down and second a nice batch of compost tea. The plants are stretching fast and hard and putting on buds quick too. I did another defoliation on the underside and removed a few fan leaves here and there to improve the airflow.

MindFlowers68 She seems to have stopped stretching for the most part which is good because she is massive. My fans in the back are hardly viable anymore, I will need to try to raise it a little. Buds are a little bigger towards top of canopy but the depth itself is almost the whole area between the two nets. I may take a few fan leaves to make some room for light and to increase the airflow as the 6 inch fans are having a hard time penetrating the jungle like canopy. I will try to remove as little as needed. The yellowing has gone away. Its weird i though it was partly cause from too intense loght but when I ramped the wattage the temps increase too and the yellowing went away. Weird. Unless I do have everything dialed and excess C02 and wasn't pushing light enough but i was already sitting around 1000 ppfd. I have the light pretty much maxed out and getting 1400 in center and 1100 on edges.
