Day 8 - I think I have this soil thing down pretty good now. All four soil girls managed to pop up and thrive. They seem to be a little bit bigger than the girls from the first grow on the same day, most likely due to better lighting and less fear about watering.
I love you, man! π Too soon? So did you veg her for 65 days at 18 hours and then give up on auto and switch to 12-12? Even that would be 2.25 grams per watt and absolutely legendary!
@Tuffgong, I appreciate the morale boost! Yeah the plant cost me an extra $300 to grow because of that debacle, but the yield has far more than made up for it so I haven't been *too* bitchy about it. :-D
@Hexus, Barney's should send you replacement seeds and a medal! And, for starting out with an autoflower scrog and ending up with an unfettered photo period grow, you deserve Best Adapted Screenplay. π
@Tuffgong, Well at day 49 she hadn't flowered and she was buried under a net with three other girls. I had to get her out of there and order a light to finish her off, separated from the rest of the grow because of the lighting schedule. The autos were all on 24/0. I put the 32x48 tent up on day 49, took the scrog apart and put her in there under the only extra light I had, which is a seventy dollar blurple, for 24/0, until the new light arrived. So for 14 days in the middle there she was under a 120w blurple, kinda in a holding pattern. Surprisingly she still grew fairly well during that time, but I didn't want to start her flowering under a cheap blurple, you know? So on day 63 the new light showed up, and I let her sit under it for 24 hours straight, to see if the amount of light and low distance was going to shock her. It didn't so I switched her to 12/12 on day 64. So it was a bit of a mess. :-D
Looking great man. Just wondering, did you do any defoliation? Cause I have a grow almost as big, but mine is an auto, and I think I might have to defoliate because it's mess in the center.
@grower_not_shower, It's been a mixed blessing as it was supposed to be an auto and I had to buy another light to finish her, but she is just so chunky and eeewge that I can't hate her for it.
@grower_not_shower, I did! As soon as her pompoms started coming together tightly I took many of the biggest fan leaves off of her colas. I also removed pretty much every leaf that was below the net, over the course of a week or so.
@@mrmateo, She didn't auto. Was day 49 before it was certain that she wasn't going to flower, and day 63 when I got a good enough light to flip her with. Lots of details on the weekly diary logs.
@urbi09, I am sure that it is NOT an autoflower. :-D
You have to dig through the weeks, but you'll notice that weeks six and seven said flowering. She wasn't flowering. By the time I was *Certain* that she wasn't flowering, it was day 49. I then had to get her out of the main grow and into her own space. The only extra light I had was a cheap Amazon Blurple, so I decided to order another 320w Shenzen Meiju and left her at 24 hours under the blurple until it showed up. The day it showed up, and the day she was switched to 12/12, was day 63.
As a result her title is a little misleading. She is a flowering string that didn't flower.
Looks really nice.I think if she's done stretching I would cut the grow and go with the bloom nutes. They don't really need as much nitrogen but do need the phosporus and potassium to build buds. You should maybe do the same with your ghost toof. Just my opinion.
@Philindicus, They are both mid transition from Maxigrow to Maxibloom as we speak. :-D
Right now the Ghost Toof is at 75% bloom, and the Glue Gelato is at around 50/50.
Started switching the Ghost Toof much earlier because changing out the DWC tank is a less common thing. Just topping off, but with each topoff it's getting more bloom. Technically at this point the topoffs are 100% Maxoblooom but it's still mixed up in there.
Glue Gelato was switched to 50/50... I think two days ago, so when she gets fed today she's getting 75/25 in favor of bloom. Will also start hitting her with the Mammoth at the same time, give her a few days to see what horrible deficiencies it causes*, and adjust accordingly.
*Mostly kidding.
wow, what a journey this one was! I got stressed out for a sec when I saw how many weeks, haha... the payoff looks incredible though. have you circled back to sample any of this stuff now that it's well cured?
I just got my first Barney's Farm and Mephisto seeds and am looking forward to trying out more autos!
