Runtz Auto / Barneys Farm

RabbitHole Seeds were planted directly into a 12-liter final pot with Plagron Grow mix and a cup-sized indentation of Light mix after they finally germinated in the papers (3/3 props to Barneys Farm :) ). After about 24 hours, the ladies then saw the light of my tent under a simple inverted cup to maintain humidity. Once they seemed stable enough, I removed the domes and adjusted the humidity in the tent to 65. After another light cycle, I noticed that one of the 3 ladies is stretching a bit; she's at 5 cm while the others are at 3 with relatively compact growth. I've now corrected the humidity to 60 and increased the light intensity to 190-200 mm/s. The clip fan is also giving the stretching lady a light breeze about every 10 seconds. Now, towards the end of the first week, I've only done daily checks, measuring temp - humidity - light with a PAR sensor. Currently, it's relatively warm here, who would have thought :D .. at the beginning of the heat, I had everything adjusted to VPD, but now I've gone back to 70% humidity since I was steeply hitting the 75%+ humidity where the risk of mold formation in the substrate became too high. I'm only referring to the values I get from the sensor hanging 15 cm above the plants; I'm just at the point of being too lazy to calculate the different zones in the tent to determine the actual humidity. Currently, I'm doing well like this. The tent temperature is still well regulated, clip fan 1 is on the lowest setting, and the AC Infinity is set to 25 degrees. I've also slightly moistened the substrate edges with pH-adjusted water to avoid over-fertilization (the pot edges had already dried about 5-6 cm deep; I want to avoid dry spots). RabbitHole Hello dear Growmies, here’s my weekly report :) :) Since I initially relied too much on my own light measurements, I had to adjust the lamp distance a bit during the week, as I noticed that one of the ladies was leaning slightly towards the lamp. The temperatures (summer...) also gave me a bit of a headache; adjusting the lamps and the heat from outside was really not easy to handle. The current solution is a VPD of 0.8 kPa, which I achieve by strategically using 2 clip fans. One at the height of the seedlings and one at lamp height to directly swirl the heat generated. The Cloudforge is really working hard, but it’s manageable for now. I set the exhaust to 27 degrees to have any chance of maintaining the humidity. Currently, it looks like the ladies are handling it well. If needed, I’ll adjust it down again. On day 8, I watered lightly, mainly around the edges. About 200 ml. pH adjusted with Cal/Mag - Roots. On day 12, the same, but this time more towards the center. Light mix retains or holds liquids better, so at the beginning, I only watered the edges. On day 14, about 300 ml were poured per pot, pH adjusted with Cal/Mag - Roots - Zym. I think I was also too cautious with the watering; the ladies are developing really well considering the starting and weather conditions, and they occasionally let their leaves droop slightly. Since there were relatively high temperatures for 2 days and everything else was in the perfect range, except for the light situation, I believe the ladies experienced slight root stress due to beginning dry spots in the substrate. I suspect the interface between light and grow mix, as I mainly watered the edges at the beginning. Now everything should be back on track, and the weather is supposed to cool down a bit :D so fingers crossed, smoke some tea, and wait. I’m looking forward to the coming weeks and will keep everything documented here. So far, it’s going really well for indoor and summer :)

RabbitHole It's hot, not just a little, no, it's really really hot :D The ladies are currently struggling with it a bit, but they're still holding up bravely. I topped the first plant at the beginning of the week because I wanted to stay on schedule since they are autos 😅 The next day, the other two followed; I wanted to wait a bit longer until the new shoots had pushed out a bit more. They all handled it well since I was lucky with the weather and caught a good window of 2 days with moderate temps, which I believe contributed significantly to their relaxed response. Following the resulting boost in the side shoots, I started with LST about 24 hours later. It was adjusted as needed. When the temperatures rose again, I unfortunately reacted too late with the VPD, which led to slight tacoing on a few leaves. That has been adjusted now, and to better manage the heat, I also had to raise the lamp again. I measured the PAR value individually for each plant and am currently trying to stay in the range of 250-300. That should be enough for the ladies and not get too warm. I have fabric pots that are on drain stands for better air circulation, but the downside is that the substrate from below, since I water without drain, is currently drying out quite quickly. To counteract this, I also "bottom-fed" them for 20-30 minutes this week - 2 liters of nutrient solution in a large bucket, pots in. For 2 liters - about 1.5 ml CalMag, 1 ml Power Roots, EC measured and pushed with CalMag to 700. Then I adjusted the pH. I watered the edges or from above as needed, usually only around 300 ml per plant. I just replaced the addition of Power Roots with 0.5 ml Pure Zym. Additionally, I rotate with 5-liter ice bottles (climate is on the way) and have optimized the clip vents from time to time. I also trimmed the edges of the pots a bit to get more air under the leaves. In hindsight, I should have filled them a bit more. That's it for the week 😊 I'm keeping my fingers crossed for everyone who is also struggling with the temps, and wishing everyone else a good week :)!

RabbitHole Hello, here’s my weekly report on the high summer indoor grow :D.. Right at the beginning of the week, the ladies went into pre-flowering. I only did a bit of LST and minimal defoliation to push as many shoots as possible and removed the smaller shoots that were likely not going to make it anyway. The ladies are drinking a bit more than at the start, and I switched from bottom feeding to watering with drainage. 4 liters per plant. About every 3 days. Since it really got warm, I had to turn on the climate control. I actually wanted to see how it goes without it out of curiosity, but it felt a bit too risky since everything was going really well. All three got topped and handled it well. VPD has been maintained consistently since the beginning, and aside from slight temp spikes, I haven't had any major issues. Only one plant is being a bit fussy with me due to the slight defoliation, and for the past few hours, it's been drooping a few leaves, but since everything else is fine, I'm optimistic that it will be okay during the evening check. 😊 The light was adjusted again to about 40cm, at 700 PAR with the addition of an Exhale CO2 Bag.

RabbitHole Week 5 was pretty relaxed overall. I made a few small changes like hanging a stronger light since the PAR values weren't matching up anymore. Adjusted airflow and climate because the temps have also slightly increased with the stronger light :D .. The lighting time was also cranked up a bit to push the flowering a little more. Here and there, I selectively defoliated; looking back, I was definitely too hesitant with the training on one of the ladies, which means I have to check on her every other day .. Currently, I'm watering every 2-3 days with 4 liters each time, with slight drainage.

RabbitHole Week 6 everything is great, the ladies are doing well. At the beginning, I suspected that one of the plants was going to fail due to the substrate placement; it always looked a bit different from its sisters throughout the grow. However, I now think I just got a different pheno. It's currently outpacing the others, which surprises me since that doesn't indicate stress flowering. The other two are developing relatively synchronously, aside from slight size differences, which makes me more convinced of the pheno theory. All in all, they're doing very well for summer indoor. I'm planning to move to a larger tent, even though it unfortunately doesn't fit the phase at all. When watering, I'm really struggling not to damage the buds, which is especially hard with drain watering :D... VPD is currently at 1.2 during the day and 1.0 at night. I've also been a bit gentler with watering since I had slight nutrient burns, and with the bushy lady, I'm now lightly defoliating every other day, as I don't want to overwhelm her completely. I really should have gone wider with the LST.

RabbitHole Week 7. It got really really really tight :D I then, with a heavy heart, moved the ladies into an empty tent, set up a bigger one, and relocated them. I really went for it and got everything done in an hour. It wasn't an ideal move, but I thought it should go relatively stress-free at this stage, and since I'm a bit limited in space, it unfortunately had to be that exact location. I have to say I underestimated the summer; with the dehumidifier I brought in, I had significant temp spikes, which is why I had to put it directly in the air-conditioned tent. It would have been smarter to take the bigger one right away. I'm now watering full throttle again with slight tip burn; I'm just making sure it doesn't spread too wildly and measuring each mix carefully for EC. I'm now absolutely diligent with VPD, 1.3 during the day and 1.1 at night, with a constant temperature of 24 degrees. My airflow is good with climate control connected directly to the intake hose, dehumidifier with the same, and 2 clip fans, which is why I'm trying to get a bit closer to the ideal rather than working preventively overall.

RabbitHole I have the Bushy Lady :D (I know the name is off, but I'm not good at naming things) and I really defoliated her strongly this week, removing a lot of weak, shaded shoots that were just pulling unnecessary energy. The intervention was intentionally late to avoid too much constant stress from the move, summer temperatures, and ongoing defoliation. However, it was necessary - the lady had too many mini bud sites that wouldn't have developed any significant mass anyway. Since the trim, she shows no signs of stress, but a short pause was noticeable. I think it’s completely within reason even if it didn't go ideally. Buds are getting denser overall. Tip burn is still there, but intentionally. VPD currently steady at 1.1 - 1.3, day temp 24, night 22. I'm currently just fluctuating by 0.2 degrees. I can hardly wait to see what comes out despite the slight difficulties.

RabbitHole In week 9, the plants have finally come out of the stretch and entered full bloom. White hairs have appeared everywhere, and the first buds are clearly showing up :) Especially noticeable: the strong development of plant 3, which has really pushed ahead. Plant 1 had a somewhat more uneven phase. Many bud sites, but there was a brief stagnation in between because I had to reduce the number of flower sites again to better distribute the energy. That slowed her down a bit, but you can already tell she's getting back into it. In terms of training, I selectively intervened again this week: removed small shoots to keep the center airy and improve light penetration. At the same time, with plant 3 (Cola pheno), I noticed the risk of unstable, long colas, which I proactively supported with plant stakes. Unfortunately, the climate control (VPD around 1.4-1.6) didn't go so well due to the outside temperatures. I allowed a bit more RH to achieve a somewhat acceptable VPD of 1.4 consistently. But overall, it was a very productive week that laid the foundation for the upcoming bud explosion that I'm really hoping for :D

RabbitHole Week 10 was the week it clicked - the plants are now really showing where the journey is going. Plant 1 (the bushy one :D), which I've been treating like a project from the start, has turned into a bush monster :D Bud sites everywhere, packed in tight, and despite all the interventions, it's now growing very homogeneously. By selectively spreading out individual shoots, the center could be opened up again. Now more light is coming in, which should help the lower buds :)) Plant 3 (Cola) remains the surprise: long colas that are already filling up strongly with flowers, stabilized by supports. Plant 2 (currently the mini) is a bit smaller in comparison, but is also making solid progress. Overall impression: the tent is now fuller of flowers than ever before :D The anticipation for the harvest is rising, and now it’s deciding how dense and compact the buds will be in the end. :D

RabbitHole The week went overall very stable :) The climate was kept quite constant in the target range, and I watered every 24 hours with 4 liters of EC 1.5 each time. Unfortunately, with the bushy plant, I overdid it a bit with the EC two weeks ago and had some light nutrient burn, but it hasn't spread further, so I took it a bit easier again :D Now the ladies look healthy and strong overall. All three are now in the middle of the bulking phase, and the buds are noticeably getting bigger :))) I expect to harvest in at most two weeks, as I can currently only use one tent due to space constraints ^.^.... From this week on, the pictures were taken with a new camera, which captures the details much better. Overall, a calm week with stable conditions, almost a bit too cold here and there, but the bud development looks top-notch; the ladies are really giving it their all.

RabbitHole Happy Sunday everyone! :) Here’s my weekly update on the High Summer Auto Grow =D All in all, the week was pretty stable, climate and setup are running well. The ladies are still in late flowering, and it looks like they will probably need about 2 more weeks until the end. 2 of them are developing quite parallel, and judging by the pistil color, I’m assuming the 2 weeks. Only the big cola is finishing faster and will be harvested earlier. The microscope showed about 10-15% clear, 75-80% milky, and 5-10% amber. I find it really hard to assess that. This week, I decided to defoliate the two parallel ladies again. Looking back, I was too cautious with the little bonsai-like one to avoid stress. I could have pushed it a bit more. Overall, it looks great and is so resinous that even its own leaves stick to it :D :D :D The bushy lady =D remains a phenomenon... Despite being in advanced flowering, she keeps pushing out fresh shoots. In hindsight, I should have trained her much more consistently because she spreads her energy over so many shoots :D I’ve also had to support her with stakes because she’s, how should I put it, falling apart under her own weight? :D Still really exciting to have experienced such a plant, it almost feels like a reveg in flowering. I’ve easily removed the same number of standing flower sites over the grow. Last week, I was convinced I would harvest them all at the same time due to space constraints... Well, the plans have changed once again :D who would have thought... I’ve now prepared a small 80x80 dry tent under a larger clearing operation. I know it’s a bit over the top, but quality has been beyond question for me from the start. Now the focus is on trichome checks and stable climate :)

RabbitHole Happy Sunday to you all :) here's a little update again. This week went pretty stable overall. I kept the setup running as usual and maintained the watering at 4 liters per plant per day consistently. No major changes to the schedule or EC values =) One step was setting up the dry area, so everything is ready for the harvest - temperature, clip fan, ventilation + filter, humidifier for gentle drying. Also, the cola was placed in the dark for 24 hours and is now right before harvest; I'll bundle the reports at the end when the other two are done as well :))) In the main tent, there are now the bushy one and the bonsai. I think both will benefit from the extra space. The bushy one is still showing its massive, bushy phenotype and is extremely frosty :D The bonsai is showing very compact buds and looks very promising as well. Currently, I estimate that the bonsai and bushy one will run for about 1-2 more weeks before they are also placed in the dark. I'm checking with micro trichomes, and my goal is to achieve maximum potency at the maximum couchlock sweet spot before it flattens out, hence the long run time =) Overall, it was a quiet week, with the focus on stability, preparation for drying, and harvesting the cola.

RabbitHole Happy Sunday, here's another update :) This week, the focus was still on maintaining stable climate conditions and checking trichomes with the microscope. The bushy lady was about 70% milky, 25% clear, 5% amber. The bonsai was about 65% milky, 30% clear, 5% amber. So it's clear to me that the planned harvest timing shift is realistic and there's still a bit of leeway. Personally, I'm aiming for a more couch-locking effect =) I did have a bit of a struggle with the climate. Due to the transition and controlling the air conditioning, I had to redirect the exhaust back into the room temporarily to prevent it from shutting off. The handling was a bit tricky in the short term, but it didn't have a major negative impact on the conditions in the grow tent. I'm aiming for temperatures of 24-25 degrees during the day, and at night I drop down to 21-22 degrees. The VPD is currently slightly too high at 1.68, but I built my humidifier into the dry tent, and for the most part, it's regulating itself phase by phase with the two active ladies right now :)) The cola plant is currently drying, so the first phase is complete. A compiled report will come at the end once all the plants are in. I won't mention the wet weight for now—I think only the final dry weight and quality assessment will be relevant :)) Jar checks are currently underway, which are part of the post-harvest management to get everything into the jars in optimal condition. RabbitHole Hello everyone, happy Sunday once again =D We have finally arrived in the final week :))) Unfortunately, there are slight necrotic spots on the sugar leaves, which are a result of the earlier nutrient burn due to my high EC. It's very noticeable in the close-up shots.. I guess I was a bit too close to the edge :D .. These blemishes do affect the appearance a bit, but they probably won't impact the quality of the buds. It actually looks like they are continuing to develop beautifully, and the tent has turned into a real terpene bomb. Just opening it briefly releases an extremely intense nice scent :D :D The climate is set to stable. During the day, the temps are at 24-25 degrees, and the VPD is back to a constant 1.4. The humidifier is active again to reliably regulate for the last week. The buds are visibly maturing further. The trichome check shows a high percentage of milky heads, and the first amber heads are clearly visible. A great sign that we're heading towards harvest soon =) As I mentioned, I'm intentionally letting them go a bit longer for a more couchlock effect :D I would say we are at about 10-15% clear, 75-80% milky, and 5-10% amber for the bushy one. For the bonsai, it's about 10-15% clear, 75-80% milky, and 5% amber. Watering is done daily as usual, and my conclusion for the week is that there were some small visual blemishes, but the ladies are still presenting themselves absolutely strong. They are aromatic and resin-rich. Everything is running stable and controlled, and the last week has thus begun =) Thank you once again for your interest, and for reading this far :) ! RabbitHole Happy Sunday to you all =) The week went as planned, climate maintained, trichomes checked, everything is great =D When the time came, I put the ladies in darkness for 24 hours and then started the trimming. 8 hours later and several glove changes due to stickiness, the last 2 are now hanging in the dry tent at 20 degrees and 60% humidity. I want to mention again regarding the weight that this is a wet trim. That's why the number initially seems really high, but I didn't want to leave it out. For the cola, I ended up with 1,030 g wet, and the other two had significantly more mass, hence my estimate. I will provide the final dry numbers in 1-2 weeks once everything is fully dried. Of course, the remaining sugar leaves and stems will also be removed, which will reduce the weight further. All in all, a very strong finish to this round, now it's on to drying and the subsequent curing process. I wish you all a great week as always, and thank you for your interest :D !
