Got rid of the Gnats after the treatments to the media surface with soap mixture and H2O2 spray of the surface of the pot followed by scrubbing to remove the fungus growing on the side. Coincidentally the new marigold plant has two full blossoms. The temps outside are getting higher and the A/c cycles more, so my tent is actually staying cooler. The Aroma is getting strong and lemony pungent. The tent is vented out the window on a 2nd story over looking the back yard. often when there is just a slight breeze blowing the right way, the yard is filled with the happy aroma of the Hindu Kush!
I like weed.
As you can see by the pix Ive been trichome hunting. This is an Indica auto and my target trichomes would be mostly all cloudy to milky. I belive after looking tonight (6-28), that they are pretty much there. The pistols are mostly red and some bud leaves are showing a tinge of color. The fan leaves are starting to fade all over. I remove yellowed leaves as I see them. The buds are large and very dense. I am worried about botrytis like what happened to my giant critical purple buds. I am also somewhat confident because the temps have averaged 78% with lights on and only in low 80s a couple of times while they have been budding. The Main cola is 12" long and very thick and dense. Two of the side colas are almost as big as the main one, and the rest are also looking like they will be good big buds.
I will probably harvest tomorrow night.
Wow, that's an impressive harvest! Congratulations! I perfectly understand your problems inspecting the trichomes. I also tried almost everything and what's working best for me is just taking close-up fotos and then checking them in magnification on the PC. It's not perfect but the best I could find. In the longer run I want to gain enough experience to be able to judge from the general appearance if a plant is ready for harvest.
@Buddha2, lol...I can be slow sometimes. I guess your referring to my old man eyes needing extra magnification. 😵 its true..."My legs are grey. My ears are gnarled. My eyes are old and bent." 😆
Nice plant will be getting tent that tall. My 1st tent and grow I have ran into issues with space I running out of space. Nice tall looking plants with big buds
That’s an impressive yield while having some issues! Do you use Boveda packs during your curing time? Could help keep them from drying out further.
Great job man!
@ArborFarms, Thanks! Eventually I'll dial in my dry area. I do use the bovida packs once they go in jars. I also utilize a hygrometer to monitor the humidity in the jar with the main cola (40g). I didnt put them in right away to let the moist middle balance out the dry outside. I put the BV packs in about 2 hours later. They have seemed to balance out and curing nicely.
How high of an EC do you think the solution was that caused the burn? I was surprised to see the burn while also seeing 400ppm (which is a great number for this stage). Also your pH is perfect
@HomegrownGenetics, The feed water was 1.4ms. My target was .8. I was supposed to add water from a tank that had plain ph h20 to use to dilute solutions. I was high...lol...and I spaced out on the dilution part and didnt realize until the next day when I went to water again. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you always have Good Big Buds.
I think your space situation is going to work out to your advantage. I would accept it as you "planned it" as a SOG style grow all along. It is what you are doing to this one plant. She will focus on one or two monster COBs as she flowers and I think you will be very happy with the results. She is looking very good.
