zorn_des_kinski Welcome to my second grow diary and my 4th grow in total! Jack Herer has been on my list for a while now and when there was a sale at Sensi Seeds I immediately got a 3+1 pack. I´ve never had the opportunity to try this strain but I heard so much praise that I´m already very exited for the harvest 😊
I germinated it using the papertowel in a ziplock bag method. After only one day the root was visible and i planted it into a 0.5l transparent cup with some holes in the bottom. I put some black tape on it so the roots won´t be exposed to light. Another transparent cup was used as a humidity dome. On 19.06.2025 the cotyledons were unfolded, I count this as day 1.
My plan for this plant is to try 4 or 8 fold mainlining and start the flowering phase early as I´ve heard that this strain likes to stretch a lot.

zorn_des_kinski Even though the temperature and humidity are far from ideal the plant develops well. Today on 25.06 i removed the humidity dome and she looks happy. Lighting is at ~40%, no circulation fan so far.

zorn_des_kinski In the last week I repotted the plant into its final 12l fabric pot. We had a proper heatwave in Germany - outside temperatures went up to 37°C (98.6°F) where I live, and in the tent, temperatures reached 34°C (93.2°F) - way too hot. Luckily, the plant didn't suffer as much as I did, she grows happily along and doesn't seem to mind. When watering I used 0.5ml/l CalMag and 2ml/l Alfa Boost, pH adjusted to 6.5. I'll carefully start using fertilizer with the next watering.

zorn_des_kinski I began training her into a 4 fold mainline by topping above the third node when she had 6 nodes in total. I gave her a few days and then removed all growth below the third node. Some gardening staples were used to bind down the emerging side shoots horizontally. After the initial top I only watered her with pH adjusted water and a bit of CalMag and Alfa Boost. Now I wait for the side shoots to develop 3-4 new nodes and will then cut next to the first nodes. Temperatures decreased a bit but I'm still looking at 29-31°C in the tent.

zorn_des_kinski Continued mainlining-training with the second topping right after the first nodes of both sideshoots, as well as bending down the four newly emerging shoots horizontally. Also removed leaves that were covering new growth on them.
Got a slight fungus gnat infestation which I treat by spraying and watering with neem oil emulsion.
