Germination
1mo ago
Enochian Perhaps I am getting too ambitious but having tried a single strain photoperiod grow, a 12/12 from seed micro grow and an experimental outdoor grow I now find myself with a soon to be empty tent so I have germinated 4 auto seeds. 3 x Sunk and 1 x F1 Milky Way Auto. I have some reading to do on Growdiaries and elsewhere for best practice for Auto's but I am looking forward to this new challenge. Any advice is welcome; this is my first year at growing and I want to explore the learning curve as much as possible. I am happy with my tent's environments for Veg and Flower so I now want to cover different strains, methods and genetics. Peace. Bran and Merlin want to get in on the act too. 😁

Enochian Transplanted into final pots. Chose 5 Gal pots as one skunk seed did not pop so had a little extra space beneath the lights. All 3 got off to a good start. Using all mix and Jack's magic mixed with a little Dolomite lime. I shall continue using the biobizz organic nutes as I believe they would suit Autos comfortably. All is good in my garden again this week except that I forgot (again) to label my seeds when I potted them. I know I have only 2 Skunk and the F1 Milky Way but at this stage I can't tell which is which. Other than that I love growing stuff.

Enochian Swapped into the flower tent to make better use of the environment and they have loved the extra light. Been watering with a little Grow nutrient and PH balanced water only. Temps gave been a little high and humidity a little low so added a small humidifier and used fans to cool air. Veg Tent will be empty within next few weeks leaving me time to plan my next cycle. Maybe a single photo grow with a longer veg period. All is good in the gardens again this week.

Enochian Did a little defoliation in the week to allow light to reach under fan leaves and she has put on a lot of growth afterwards. These ladies are loving the light and temp this week. Responding well to my environment with a VPD between 1 and 1.4 during the day. Autos seem to grow at an accelerated rate due to amount of DLI compared to photo's. All is good in the garden again this week.

Hi folks. While bending leaves under netting main stem snapped too easily. After looking at stalk it appears to be hollow! Is this normal?

Xylem and phloem are vascular tissues in plants that transport water and nutrients. While phloem is made of living cells, xylem is composed of dead cells that form hollow tubes, known as vessels, with a central hollow space called the lumen. This hollow structure allows for efficient transport of water and dissolved minerals from the roots to the rest of the plant. Xylem primarily transports water and minerals upwards from the roots. Phloem transports sugars (produced during photosynthesis) and other nutrients throughout the plant. Interestingly the hollow space can act as insulation, helping to regulate the plant's internal temperature. Air temperature changes faster than water, and a hollow stem can help the plant respond more quickly to temperature fluctuations, preventing overheating or chilling. Generally faster she grows the bigger the hollow.

Enochian Thanks to all who answered my 'Hollow Stem' question. Never knew stems could be hollow. Ya live n learn. Once again all is good in the flower tent, these girls are really going for it. All in flower as of a couple of days ago. Got a good routine going now. Water n feed in the morning and by lights out humidity is back around 55%. Creeps up during dark hours but not enough to worry about. Got a Titan F1 as a freebee so hoofed it into tent with others couple days ago n she already above ground. PPFD 300 for Titan and 600 for taller plants which works out well, I think. Will increase to 800 slowly until they finish. Happy grower😀
