HillNSage They all came up nicely! A is stretching the least and C is stretching the most. Watering with a spray bottle when the top looks dry. A few sprayes per plant per day! At first I forgot to check the pH and ended up giving them tap water with a pH of 7.84 oops! Thatโ€™s probably why their growth has been so slow in the beginning. Iโ€™ve started using properly adjusted water since I noticed, so hopefully theyโ€™ll pick up soon. Also the starter pots are really small โ€” I might go for slightly larger ones next time.

HillNSage The seedlings were still a bit slow in the small starter pots, growth was clearly being held back. By the end of the week I decided to transplant them into their final pots. When transplanting I buried them a little deeper, since they had stretched a bit. I also added mycorrhizae to the soil to support root development. Before filling the pots I soaked the soil thoroughly outside the pots, so the medium would be evenly moist all the way through. The roots looked healthy, just not quite developed enough yet โ€” so Iโ€™m glad they have more space now. Hopefully the extra root space will give them the boost they need next week!

HillNSage I did my first watering on Friday, July 11th. Since I was going away for the whole weekend, I gave them a good soak โ€” 4 liters in total. It was also really warm that weekend, so I was a bit worried about the humidity. My current humidifier can only be either on or off, and on its lowest setting it lasts about 24 hours. To help keep the tent humid while I was away, I also filled the entire floor of the tent with about 2 cm of water. As you can see in the pictures, they grew really well over the weekend!

HillNSage This week I received a new humidifier (AC Infinity CLOUDFORGE T3) that can manage both humidity and VPD on its own. Super convenient โ€” especially because my Spider Farmer humidity sensor broke. Luckily, their customer service was great, and theyโ€™re sending me a replacement soon. For now, the Spider Farmer sensor is still handling temperature, and the AC Infinity humidifier is in charge of humidity. The plants are looking great and growing fast! I did their second watering exactly a week after the first one. I mightโ€™ve pushed the EC a little high this time, so 5 days later I gave them another watering with only Power Roots (1ml/L). As for the individual plants: Plant A is doing well but seems slightly behind the others in development. Still, sheโ€™s catching up, and I decided to top her to help her bush out a bit more. Plant B has always lagged a little โ€” she was one node behind the others during early growth. Thatโ€™s why I chose not to top her. I'm going to leave her completely untouched as an experiment to see how an untrained plant compares to the others. Plant C is clearly the strongest and fastest-growing so far, with the biggest leaves and the fullest shape. I topped her as well and plan to train her later, depending on how she keeps developing.

HillNSage The girls are responding well to topping and training, and theyโ€™re starting to fill out the tent nicely! This week they got two waterings โ€” one at the start and one at the end. For one of them I added a bit of mycorrhizae for extra root support. Runoff EC looks alright now. I did a lot of leaf tucking on all three plants to open up the canopy. Plant A โ†’ Just leaf tucking for now. The two main stems are dominant and the side branches arenโ€™t really stretching past them yet. Plant B โ†’ I couldnโ€™t resist some training โ€” bent the main stem into a horizontal curve so the tops are more even. Plant C โ†’ Tied down some side branches to spread them out and create a more even canopy. Overall really happy with how theyโ€™re responding to training.

HillNSage The tent is really filling up now and the girls are almost ready for flower! This week I decided to bring in CalMag as a precaution. My tap water isnโ€™t particularly soft, but with strong LED lighting and the plants growing fast, I figured itโ€™s good to have that extra support ready. I gave them a small โ€œhalf wateringโ€ while waiting for the CalMag to arrive, then continued as usual. Runoff values are looking stable, which is great. I also increased the light intensity a little bit. Training is basically finished at this point โ€” from now on itโ€™s just a matter of leaf tucking, removing a leaf here and there, and making small adjustments. By the end of the week the tent was completely full, and I already decided to flip them to 12/12. Iโ€™ll log that switch as the start of the next week in the diary, but by now it was clear they were ready to flower.

HillNSage Big change this week โ€” I flipped the girls to 12/12. The first signs of stretch are already showing. I gave them two waterings this week: First one with just Terra Bloom and CalMag, second one with Terra Bloom, CalMag, Power Roots and Power Buds, following the Plagron schedule. Runoff came out around pH 6.2 and EC 1.3โ€“1.6, depending on the plant. Everything looks stable for now. Leaf tucking and defoliation continues to keep the canopy even and allow light to reach the lower branches. The structures feel strong, and I improved airflow (hopefully) with a clip fan positioned at stem height to move air just below the canopy. At the very end of the week I noticed some yellowing leaves. This could be related to the rapid growth during stretch, but also possibly from too much light, since the tops are now quickly reaching closer to the lamp. I raised the light a bit to compensate. The only challenge is the high humidity and low temperatures (for summer) โ€” VPD rarely goes above 1.0 here, which might become a concern later in flower. For now the plants look healthy and Iโ€™m happy with how theyโ€™re starting to transition.

HillNSage The yellowing leaves I saw at the end of last week disappeared right away after raising the light, so it really seemed to be just light stress. The plants are stretching nicely and everything looks on track. Iโ€™m still doing quite a bit of defoliation โ€” removing large leaves for better airflow, and also cutting away some small branches that clearly wonโ€™t make it to the canopy. Overall the girls are looking healthy and I think the grow is going very smoothly.

HillNSage My ladies stretched a lot this week! Clearly settling into flower now. pH and EC have been stable, and everything looks on track. They're right at the point of really starting to bloom, so the next update should be amazing! Iโ€™ve also added the Vivosun tent kit, which gives a LOT more space to work with - it really makes a huge difference, as you can see in the photos. I added a second fan as well, so one is just above the canopy, while the other is just below. Steady defoliation continues, and Iโ€™ve been removing the lower budsites that wonโ€™t make it to the canopy. (I would probably remove more on a second grow, but I could not find it in my heart haha.) Also had an unexpected visitor in the tent this week; a little grasshopper (unfortunately not alive anymore).

HillNSage This week I did the last major defoliation round. I also tied down the tallest tops of plants B and C to the green support stakes around the tent, mainly to improve airflow through the canopy, but also to ballance the height of the canopy. The runoff EC, especially from plant B, came out a bit high, so next time Iโ€™ll give her a lighter feeding and flush a bit more to balance things out.

HillNSage This week I watered twice, each time with plenty of runoff to bring the EC levels back down โ€” everythingโ€™s balanced again now. Runoff pH has stayed nice and stable. Plant B still shows the highest runoff values, while plant A produces the most runoff, so sheโ€™s drinking a bit less. A also seems a little behind compared to B and C. Funny enough, B used to be the one lagging early on when it was on a small platform, but now itโ€™s the tallest plant. A is the one on the raised platform now โ€” maybe thatโ€™s because B wasnโ€™t topped, so she stretched more thanks to that thicker main stem.

HillNSage This week I watered three times: first with the regular feeding, then a half dose, and finally just plain water. They did get a bit too dry once while I was away for the weekend. Plants B and C are starting to show some brown pistils already. Humidity has been staying really high all the time โ€” thatโ€™s going to be a real issue soon. Iโ€™ve decided to buy a dehumidifier to keep things under control.

HillNSage Humidity is much better now with the dehumidifier running. I also added a heater because it was getting a bit too cold. Still experimenting a little with the power usage and settings. I watered three times this week โ€” twice with the regular feeding and once with plain water, since I was away for a few days and wanted to make sure theyโ€™d be fine while I was gone. Runoff pH and EC stayed stable. Some purple coloration is showing up on the leaves, especially on plant A. The parts in the light are much more purple, so Iโ€™m pretty sure itโ€™s just natural coloring and not a deficiency. You can see exactly where one leaf covered the other. Overall, they look super healthy!

HillNSage All three plants are getting really close to full maturity now. The tops of A and B are mostly cloudy with just a few clear heads left and the very first bits of amber showing - right around that sweet spot for peak potency. Plant C seems to be a little further ahead though; its top buds already have a small but clearly noticeable amount of amber mixed in with the cloudy trichomes, which tells me itโ€™s entering late bloom maturity. The mids on all three still have a mix of clear and cloudy trichomes with hardly any amber yet, and the lowers are lagging behind a bit more โ€” lots of clear, only partly cloudy heads so far. Overall, theyโ€™re all ripening pretty evenly: the tops are ready (or will be in a few days), mids not far behind, and the lowers probably need another week or two. I did two waterings with half dosage and one with just plain water, in preparation for harvest, maybe as early as next week :) Iโ€™m planning to keep the upper and lower buds separate after harvest - the lowers for a more uplifting, daytime kind of high, and the tops for a heavier, relaxing one to smoke before bed.

HillNSage This week has been full of doubt about the trichomes. To harvest or not to harvest, that's the question... I worry plant C might be maturing a bit too far, while plant A isn't quite there yet. Every day I think "just few days longer" x) I haven't given any water this week (just plain water the last day of the previous week), partly because I wasn't home, but I also figured it's fine if they're a bit dryed out, because they will be drying soon anyway. Just a little longer... ;)

HillNSage Finally it was time for harvest ๐Ÿ˜ƒ Feels weird to chop my babies, but it's all for a good cause! After 9 days of drying in my tent, it was saturday night and time for a trimming sesssion with my brother. The buds are extremely sticky, so it was a hard trim and took about 3 or 4 Disney movies๐Ÿ˜… The smell is not so strong now, but that's normal I think. I have the humidity bags that stay between 58-62% and that seems to be working quite well. We obviously smoked one joint of each plant. The smell and taste are just not really there now, but also not NOT nice. I divided the buds over 6 bags: lower and upper parts of all three plants. The results: Plant A: top 30g + lower 35g = 65g Plant B: top 34g + lower 33g = 67g Plant C: top 29g + lower 35g = 64g TOTAAL = 196g

Germination within 24h is crazy fast. Looks like they needed to be closer to the light in the first week. Good idea to plant them deeper. Everything starts to look nice in week 3! Then week four is beautiful, I bet you are happy with those girls. Awesome diary so far, I look forward to more updates as the grow progresses! Welcome to grow diaries community.
