Hello thanks for having me. So all of my velvet Krush seedlings and the Afghan are much smaller than the others. They also all still have quite purple stems. I’m worried about the VK as the leaves are curling downwards did I overwater? Or do they need some food?

Good week some massive growth overall, lost two of the VK :( very sad but a learning experience. Basically had been watering all plants the same amount but these two were much smaller and I think I drowned them. This is actually week 2 since seeds popped but I can’t change my first post.

Plants are 18 days now since popping from seed but I messed up with the weeks so I may skip 2 weeks just to even things out for my ocd ;). Just finished transplanting used RootRescue MS-CS Transplanter inoculant as it came as a free sample with some insect frass (sweet). 3-5 gallon smart pots. Everything looking good so far I believe. Just a tiny bit of yellowing on one of the hashplants will check back in 2 weeks with updates.

Transplanted everything a few days after the last diary into 5 gallon air pots. Started a cover crop and added some mulch after everything sprouted. Began training week 4. I’m intending on keeping 4 max inside the tent. Will be Peanut butter breath, Dragons Blood Hashplant, Afghani, and Velvet Krush. Other 4 x2 pbb 1xDBHP and one unknown bag seed will be going outdoors soon.

Hello back again girls have new shoes and are looking healthy. I’m seeing a slight curl in the tips of my leaves. Possibly over watering? I’m very green but I would rule out any nutrient toxicity or deficiency. Tent was recently moved to the basement and now temps and rh are nice

Brother your grow looks great. It's a very common to be a bit heavy handed with the water in the beginning. Everyones guilty of it. It's a fear that not giving it enough water then going to work when you get home your plant will be dead. You can try lifting up the pot and start to get a feel for the weight of it before and after watering. Ideally the plants like a modest wet/dry cycle. With a slightly drier soil the roots will grow out in search of water. If you over water your roots get lazy and can rot. In the future you can add 25-30% perlite to your soil mix to loosen it up and provide more oxygen to the root zone and better drainage. If your still having difficulty determining if shes too wet try using an electronic moisture meter to give you a rough idea how moist different levels are in the pot. Good luck, happy growing

Bought a PH kit the cheap one with the vial and drops realized I’ve been watering and foliar spraying around 7 maybe slightly higher. Adjusted PH before last foliar to 6.5 roughly also maybe slightly under and WOW. Noticing the chlorophyll coming back strong and evenly. Wasnt a major issue but I had been wondering about it seems to be solved now. Also super exited both DragonsBlood have the bleeding trait!! Thank you to everyone providing answers and tips for me. Going to flower in another 2 weeks or so.

Have been having some problems with RH, I currently have my 2x4x5 tent in my basement. The temperature in the basement is 18-20 and the humidity 50-65. I have been running a dehumidifier on continuous for several days and still having trouble with RH currently with my fans on maximum for exhaust and inside the tent I can get to lowest 57 Rh. At night the temp drops to about 18 and humidity goes to about 65. Daytime temps with oscillating fans off are 21-22. On around 24-25. Rh gets lower with fans on. Tent is sitting on the floor of an unfinished basement. I tried putting a styrofoam sheet under to insulate but this increased temperature way to much. I’m only running 320 watt led so one option would be to add more light which would increase temp and decrease humidity. Or use a small dehumidifier inside the tent but I’ve heard that won’t work so well with my Negative pressure setup. The other Option is an air conditioner either right outside the tent or inside. What do you think?

Plants seem like they are slow to start showing flowers, I had to swap out one of the dragonsblood hashplant as it’s either a herm or male I’m getting a microscope tomorrow so will go over all plants thoroughly and double check sex. So far 1 confirmed male. Photos 2 days after a leaf stripping. Also figured out my RH issues see video.

Buds are forming fast and strong on the peanut butter breath! The Afghani landrace actually showed it’s pistils first but hasn’t really started to form buds yet. Dragonsblood and the bagseed either Deathwing or Rain of Frost are confirmed female with 40x microscope. So it’s looking like I might have a staggered harvest somewhat which I do not mind at all. I’m assuming it’s genetics that are causing the PBB to perform so quick really pleased with it so far all seeds germinated and we’re healthy from the pack.

Hi @PapaSmurf416! Nitrogen plays an important role in your plant's health: this type of yellowing usually means that your plant is not able to find enough Nitrogen. Too much Nitrogen = dark leaves, stunted flowers, big stretch. Not enough Nitrogen = yellow leaves, lack of vertical stretch, bottom leaves dying. Your slight Nitrogen deficiency is related to the plant doing its "stretch" cycle. Once your plant enters into flowering stage, she focuses on vertical stretching for a few days, before putting all its energy into bud expanding and resin production later. In your situation, I won't worry that much, the stretch should be over now and your plant is going to need less N and more P+K. What's your soil and what's your feeding schedule? Depending on those elements, you will probably need to add some P+K into your next waterings, to help flowers to expand. Hope this will help, keep us updated and happy growing! 👊

So I’ve been having issues with the design of my leds (never listen to friends with no experience with growing) anyways my solution for the heat of the leds is to dim down to 40% power I’ve also changed the angle of my led setup you can see in pics. Also added a 400 watt hps for 200$ it’s dimmable as well so now I’m running less wattage with a greater spectrum and much more lumens.

So I’ve got 3 strains flowering right not the Peanut butter breath is the fastest she’s stacking nicely, getting some really kushy aromas off the bud. Afghan landrace is super busy I’ve probably defoliated about 6 times now hopefully that’s the last, getting a classic hash spice aroma. And the random bagseed which is Rain of Frost OR Deathwing not sure. It’s stretching like crazy right now caught back up with the PBB and the bagseed has been mainlined. It has the most interesting smell of the 3 with some funky cheesy notes.

Great week the Afghani Mazar I Sharif landrace has put on a crazy amount of bud growth, looks like a heavy snowfall in winter. Smells very spicy and earthy. I wish I had some pollen to breed this pheno it’s incredibly short and squat and looks like it will yield heavy, great for tents or stealth grows. The peanut butter breath is still putting on weight has thrown out a few more flowers and I’m seeing the leaves are just starting to fade darker possibly black or purple, smells like children’s breakfast cereal marshmallows and sugary diesel. Incredibly frosty. The bagseed Rain of Frost has stopped stretching finally she’s 33 inches just beating out the PBB, still continuously Throwing out new flower I may lollipop the bottoms another few inches to promote larger flower growth at the tops.

Peanut butter breath is fading strong now getting dark purple in the leaves and a little bit in the bud. All crystals are still clear no cloudiness yet. Afghan is still stacking and gaining a lot of girth on the main buds, some nice peach pistils. The bagseed is definitely the rain of frost and not the Deathwing, I’m seeing strong GSC characteristics. Intense aromas hard to tell any apart but the tent smells like diesel gas spices and breakfast cereal marshmallows. I’m expecting at least two more weeks of flowering.

Still clear trichomes throughout maybe a few white/cloudy but no amber yet. Buds are continuing to fatten up nicely PBB is yellowing quite fast this week so I fed her twice as I don’t believe it’s time for her to lose leaves yet. I used Insect frass, oyster shell flour, humic acid, kelp meal, and a bit of diotamaceous earth both for the silica and I had a few fungus gnats. Also did a foliar with concentrated sea minerals (mild full spectrum fertilizer) liquid kelp and AEM. Afghani is getting more of a tropical smell mangos and peach. The Rain of Frost is gassy with some serious Kush notes and a subtle sour at the end. Peanut Butter Breath is getting more intense less sweet hard to describe.

Buds have swelled noticeably insane amounts of purple coming through on the peanut butter breath I think she will be done this week 😍 I see one or two amber trichs but I’m going to let her go at least this full week . She smells very intense gassy kushy and sweet with a lucky charms marshmallow vibe. The rain of frost has no amber yet I’m guessing at least 2 more weeks for her also no fading leaves yet but I hear that’s strain dependent not necessarily going to happen. She smells the strongest I would say, very funky almost a blue cheese in the background but upfront is sweet and kushy. The Afghani Mazar I Shariff is kind of disappointing so far to be honest, although she gained a lot of mass this last week perhaps I will change my mind. She smells very old school if that makes sense with a tropical fruit background. I’ve just given plain water twice this week will continue with plain water until harvest.

Pbb has been chopped! Saw a decent amount of amber trichomes and the calyxes were quite swollen also she has been fading beautifully for quite some time now. Went into the dark for 48hours then I trimmed any dead leaves off and a few larger easy to reach leaves. She’s hanging in a dark tent now with a fan blowing at the bottom of the tent. Ducting to my flower tent to keep it from stagnating. Frost is starting to fade and swelling quite well. Afghani is getting a much more complex smell not as sweet as before still looks like looks like at least 2 weeks for her. They have all just been getting water for a while now.

Peanut Butter Breath is a smash, very heavy OGKB gas with a hint of rhubarb and sweet cereal marshmallows. The high is eye watering, washing over you with a sense of calm relieving your anxiety. It then brings on talkative bouts where you just want to share everything before finally relaxing you, stimulating appetite and settling you in for the heavy sedation stone.

75 grams after drying and trimming 20g pure sugar leaf trim two more half zips of icy fan leaves/sugar leaves. Plant was put under 48 hours darkness before chopping and hanging. Hung in drying tent for 8 days with temps ranging from 19-25c generally on the lower end. Rh ranged between 51-63 staying at 60 for the majority of the time. Very easy trimming except for the finger hash/ scissor hash gunking everything up. Thanks to everyone for all the advice and answering my questions couldn’t have made my first harvest without this community!

Definitely night time smoke I tried a small sample after drying that knocked me on my ass. Although there was a nice sweet almost fruity exhale, will be interesting to see how she is in a week or two. Update: she’s really taking on a lemon dominant smell, with an interesting lavender background and sweetness. It’s like a lemon lavender cookie.

Ok so this was my very first seed ever germinated and planted and brought to harvest! Wooo. So this was a bagseed, a cookie cross labeled “Rain of Frost” the genetics were apparently Platinum Girl Scout Cookie x Chocolate Vanilla Lover. She is definitely a cookie leaner, I’m getting diesel, a little pine, a pungent undertone I can’t make out yet. Only 1 day curing so far after a 7 day hang dry. Next update will be the last for this diary as I have the afghani hanging right now. Thank you to the community for being there whenever I needed and supporting me with the knowledge and info you’ve learned over the years much appreciated.

Curing and drying tips or info please! I’m currently trimming fans then hang drying for 7-10 days at 45-60 Rh temps 23-25. Then curing in jars. Once my ideal humidity (IMO) is reached do I still burp the jars? Or will they get funkier sitting closed? Last question of the diary!

All your temps and humidity sound good and your gonna get a lot of answers for this question I had my first grow and temps and humidity of mine were higher I had 30degrees and 74 % humidity they dried 6 days ..put into jars with bovida humidity packs at 62% relative humidity and burped twice a day 10 min for about two weeks .. then I burped twice that week and once the next ...make sure they are not to packed into the jar andv not to wet or they will mold ... Pop em out on paper for 5min mold will grab hold quick and destroy that hard work real quick.. hope that helps but really watch for that mold it sucks ...

@Mrs_Larimar, Thank you so much! I did a very mild foliar feed with some Mountain Organics tonic. I think I had the lights way to low there about 32 inches now from canopy but before was like 18. Underestimated these powerful leds. And yes I had some that were close to a larger circulating fan and whenever I looked at them the movement seemed fine. I didn’t realize once I closed the tent how much more the wind picks up so to speak I peaked through my window and they were wild. So I found the culprit I believe leaving that large fan off for now. Girls will be getting new shoes before next update 👍 cheers thanks again.

Depending on those elements, you will probably need to add some P+K into your next waterings, to help flowers to expand. Hope this will help, keep us updated and happy growing! 👊

@Stick, I’ve got a local supersoil that was amended with some lime and Gaia all purpose since then I’ve mostly been using compost teas. I was thinking nitrogen to, these two plants in particular probably needed some extra N during veg. I just added some liquid kelp and guano but I’m looking into basalt or something for potassium or you think I’ll be ok?

Don't a lot of people when germinating or cloning add in a very mild bloom nutrient? Maybe if you gave them a super mild dose of a PK the purple stems may go away and if not then you are probably right about the genes...

I think perhaps I’ve been overwatering the smaller guys and suffocating them a bit. Also one of the VK has some severe droopyness and burning tips. Will update in 2 days on all. Thank you! I just put in some extra holes in the sides of all the cups. 🤞

@PapaSmurf416, I think the light may have been too close then. With Leds you have to be really careful to judge the correct height, as they start growing more leaves or if you notice them Stretch, bring the light a little closer and monitor it until you find the sweet spot! Looking good though!

@Fruitgrower, Hey at maximum power they produce I think 320 or 340 watts but I’ve only had it less than half power so probably 140. They are Samsung lm561 c strips. I think temps in the tent have been to hot for a while. I raised the light to 34 inches

@PapaSmurf416, could be the light is too hot or too close. What power do the led produce?
