Sisyphus She’s off to a strong start in Week 1 of veg—healthy early growth and no concerns so far. I’m spacing out waterings every 3 to 4 days, allowing the soil to dry out between sessions to avoid overwatering. To promote stronger root development, I’ve been watering in a circle around the base of the plant rather than directly at the stem. This encourages the roots to stretch outward and establish a broader foundation early on. Nothing major to report yet, but everything’s moving in the right direction.

Sisyphus Growth continues at a steady pace, and I’m really pleased with the plant’s overall health and structure so far. She’s starting to stretch a bit, showing strong development across the main stem and early branches. I performed a topping above the 4th node around day 19 to encourage a bushier growth pattern and more potential bud sites down the line. She handled it well, with no signs of stress. Water intake has been bumped up slightly—about 0.5 liters every 2 to 3 days—to keep up with her increasing thirst. So far, everything is tracking well for this stage of the grow.

Sisyphus After topping her last week, the growth has really taken off—almost overnight, I’ve seen about eight new bud sites emerge. It’s been incredible to watch how quickly she’s responded, and I’m thrilled with her overall progress. She’s definitely become more demanding in terms of water—currently taking in a good soak about every two days. I’m keeping an eye on her thirst levels while still being cautious not to overdo it. To help control the environment, I’ve started running a dehumidifier to gradually bring the relative humidity down, aiming for that sweet spot as she continues to mature. I also did some light low-stress training (LST), gently tucking a few of the larger fan leaves under the new bud sites to make sure they’re getting maximum light exposure. So far, it’s paying off.

Sisyphus This week brought a little more low-stress training (LST) and my first “haircut”—just a few lower fan leaves that weren’t going to contribute much. Their stems were thinner and light-starved, so it felt like the right time to let them go. The bud sites are really starting to take off now, and compared to other Green Crack Auto grows, she seems right on track. I’m hoping to see some vertical stretch and a bit more bushiness over the next week as she transitions into full flower. Watering has increased to about 1 liter every two days to match her growing appetite, and I’m still gradually lowering the relative humidity to stay within a safe range. I also raised the lights a few inches to keep pace with her vertical growth and to maintain an ideal light distance. Additionally, I’m working to slowly bring the pH down to around 6.2—taking it step by step to avoid shocking her. All signs are pointing in the right direction, and I’m excited to see how she fills out from here.

Sisyphus We’ve officially hit Week 5, and she’s showing some impressive growth—both vertically and across the canopy. One of the most exciting developments this week has been the explosion of new bud sites. They’re popping up all over, and it’s clear she’s transitioning nicely into the flowering phase. Humidity is still a challenge in my climate, so I’ve kept the RH around 45% with the help of a dehumidifier. The plant seems happy with that range. I also removed a few larger fan leaves from the lower canopy—just a light defoliation to improve airflow and light penetration. I spaced the pruning out over a couple of waterings to avoid any unnecessary stress. Since I have a second Green Crack Auto growing about a week behind, I’m considering setting up a SCROG soon to keep the canopy even between the two. Water intake has gone up—she’s now drinking closer to 1.3 liter every two days. I’m adjusting slowly and keeping a close eye on her to avoid overfeeding. Lastly, I raised the lights a few inches to accommodate the stretch and continued to slowly lower the pH to around 6.2 to optimize nutrient uptake. Lots of forward momentum this week—really exciting to see everything starting to come together.

Sisyphus We’re now at Week 6 from sprout (July 2), and the girls are really starting to put their energy into flower. Bud sites are stacking nicely, pistils are shooting out, and trichomes are just beginning to sparkle under the light as you can see. Also switched out the LED light to the SpiderFarmer SF2000 200 watt as I wasn't getting adequate PPFD. Defoliation: Did a moderate clean-up, removing around 20–25% of fan leaves that were shading lower bud sites (see pic of the leaf pile). This opened up airflow and light penetration through the canopy. This is my LAST major defoliation as I want to make sure she's going to save up enough nutrients in the remaining fan leaves for bud development. Training: Implemented a SCROG net to help keep things even and keep light hitting the bud sites mid-canopy. I also have the same strain growing in the tent--about 10 days behind--so needed some arrangement. Watering: Upped the amount to 2-2.5L per plant, alternating between nutrient feedings and plain pH'd water (around 6) + CalMag. Plants seem to prefer a ~36-hour watering cycle at this stage, especially with the dehumidifier running. I also ordered a Vivosun AeroDrain D12 dehumidifer as my current one can't handle the current humidity levels and am hoping to get it in the next week or two which will be important for late flower and preventing bud rot. I may do a 20-30% run-off watering in a week or two to ensure there's no nutrient lock-out. Nutrients: Off of Grow Big and upping Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom for added nitrogen. Overall, quite happy with the overall growth and health of the plant. Excited to see it bulk up in the coming weeks. I am already investing a lot of research in what drying and curing approach I want to take -- any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Sisyphus This week marked a noticeable shift in the grow—plant is now clearly prioritizing bud development over vegetative growth. I upped the water intake to 1 gallon per plant, which they’ve been handling well as the buds continue to swell and put on mass. Humidity has been a challenge due to all the rain recently, so I implemented a new room dehumidifier to keep conditions under better control. It’s been helping stabilize the environment, though it’s still a balancing act. The buds are filling out beautifully, stacking nicely along the colas. Trichome development is now very pronounced—sugar leaves and calyxes are frosting up with visible resin, and under close inspection the trichomes are beginning to stand out as tiny, glistening heads. At this stage, I’ve stopped defoliation entirely to allow the plant to focus all its energy on flowering. Only some very mild LST adjustments were made to maintain light exposure across the canopy, but overall, the structure is set and it’s all about bud fattening from here on out. The plants look healthy, vibrant, and on track for a strong finish in the coming weeks.

Sisyphus This week has been all about stacking and swelling. The plant is now showing strong bud development with colas really starting to fill out and harden. The trichomes are becoming much more visible under magnification, giving that frosty sheen across sugar leaves and calyxes. Pistils are still plentiful, but many are beginning to darken and curl, a clear sign the plant is moving deeper into the flowering stage. Environment & Adjustments • Watering at 1 gallon per feeding to keep up with the plant’s demands at this stage. • A new Vivson dehumidifier was brought in to stabilize humidity, which has been a challenge due to heavy rain in the area. This has already helped keep RH in check and should pay off as buds continue to bulk up. • Light height was adjusted earlier to accommodate stretch, but at this stage the plant is focused less on vertical growth and more on bud production. Training & Maintenance • No further defoliation this week — the canopy has been left intact to allow maximum energy capture for bud swelling. • Only very mild LST adjustments were made, but the plant has clearly shifted away from vegetative expansion and is now channeling energy into resin and flower development. Overall Impression The plant looks vigorous and healthy, with dense bud sites forming up the main colas. Aromas are starting to become more pronounced, and trichome coverage is thickening daily. At this pace, harvest is coming into view — likely just a few more weeks until the final push.

Sisyphus 🌱 Week 9 Grow Update – Older Plant This week, the older plant has really stepped into her finishing stretch. She’s dense, resinous, and showing all the signs of nearing maturity. ⸻ 🌿 Growth & Bud Development • The colas are stacking beautifully and have gained a lot of mass compared to last week. • Pistils are curling in and darkening, with fresh white ones slowing down. • Trichomes are thick across the buds and sugar leaves — a mix of clear and cloudy. No amber yet. ⸻ 💡 Tent & Environment Adjustments • Upgraded to a 48x48x80 tent, giving her extra space and airflow. • Running a Spider Farmer 200W alongside a BestVA 100W LED, which is providing much fuller canopy coverage since I have two plants growing inside the tent. • Added another clip-on fan for extra circulation. • Removed the SCROG net — pleasantly, she’s holding up her heavy colas just fine without support. ⸻ 💧 Feeding & Care • Still drinking about 1 gallon per watering, and she’s handling the increased uptake well. • An AeroDrain D12 dehumidifier was added to battle the high humidity and was connected outside the tent via the inlet and exhaust ducts. This has kept conditions more stable during the critical flowering weeks. • No more defoliation — just letting her focus energy on swelling buds and resin production. • I will stop the feedings beginning on week 10. ⸻ 📸 Observations • The buds are really filling out and starting to show that classic sparkle under the lights. • Aroma is becoming much stronger, with a rich, pungent scent every time the tent opens. • Based on trichome development, she’s likely only a week or two away from her ideal harvest window.

Sisyphus We’ve officially hit Week 10 (Day 75 today) since sprout, and she is really showing her maturity. The colas are stacked and frosty, with trichomes now mostly cloudy and around 10% amber on the highest parts of the colas and most cloudy on the lower parts, which means she’s entering peak harvest window. The buds have swelled nicely over the last week, and the pistils are curling in and darkening, giving that classic “finished” look. The leaves are beginning to naturally yellow in its lifecycle as the buds pull in the remaining nutrients from the fan leaves! A great sign. I quit all nutes, and I am only watering with PH'd water (6.2). I had one "oh f*ck" moment: the largest cola collapsed under its own weight over the night -- I had to wrap the stem in electrical tape and reinforce it (first with a broom handle and then a larger garden stake once it arrived the next day). Luckily, the partial break of the stem was repairable and the leaves remain healthy after 4 days. It should continue to mature with little issue (I hope). At this point, it’s decision time: chop now for a more energetic high, or let her run another week for more amber trichomes and a deeper, relaxing effect. I am looking for a more sedative, couch-lock feel, so I plan on waiting another 7 days or so until the trichomes reach 30% amber.

Week 11. Harvest

I just finished running Fast Buds’ Green Crack Auto, and honestly — I’m blown away. From start to finish, this strain was a joy to grow. She sprouted fast, stretched beautifully, and packed on some of the frostiest, densest buds I’ve ever seen in an autoflower. By day 80, I pulled just over 2.25 lbs wet (trimmed) from a single plant grown in a 5-gallon fabric pot under an LED — and every cola was sticky, aromatic, and completely stacked. The terpene profile? Straight tropical. Notes of mango, citrus, and a hint of spice filled the grow room from late flower on. What really impressed me was the resilience of this cultivar — she handled training, light defoliation, and minor fluctuations without a hiccup. Trichome development was out of this world, and I saw amber start coming in right on time for harvest. This was my first run with Fast Buds, and Green Crack Auto made me a believer. If you’re looking for a potent, flavorful, sativa-dominant auto with explosive growth and serious bag appeal, this one absolutely delivers. Props to Fast Buds — you’ve earned a repeat grower.

Sisyphus Wrapped up harvest on my older Green Crack Auto, and I couldn’t be happier with how she turned out. This was hands-down one of the easiest plants I’ve ever grown. No drama—just solid genetics, steady growth, and beautiful trichome production from early flower all the way to chop day. Trichomes: Mostly cloudy with a few ambers creeping in—perfect timing for a balanced head/body effect. Bud Structure: Tight, dense, and absolutely frosted. Wet Trim Weight: 1030g or 2.25lbs (expect lost to .5lbs after dry and cure). Drying Time: Just 3 days in the HerbsNow dryer, and already feeling well on the way to cure-ready. Setup: 5-gal fabric pot, FoxFarm Trio + TPS CalMag, mid-to-late defoliation for airflow. Swipe through the closeups for a look at those trichomes—zoomed in just before harvest. Stoked for the cure (i'll do another post after!) #GreenCrackAuto #AutoflowerGrow #HomegrownCannabis #TrichomeTuesday #HerbsNow #HarvestDay #Budshots #GrowTentLife #FrostyAF #EasyGrow
