10" hang height at 100% = yes death
120" hang height at 100% = no? maybe
20" hang height at 20% = mot likely fine
Most manufactures give you some basic hang heights and intensity settings for stages of life like seedlings. veg, bloom. They almost all suggest a hang height of somewhere between 12-20" for the most even lighting map with minimal hot spots.
How long the light is on, its intensity and hang height all go into determining how "strong" the light is. 700w is a lot of wattage. but so is 200w if its much closer and on longer.
Look up the term DLI and PPFD. get to know them. Your DLI is the best metric to measure your lighting needs. When I found mine, I realized I was cooking my plants with to much light.I needed to drop down my cycles from 18/6 to 16/8 and adjust its hang height to 30 inches. It has been said the upper limit is 40DLI, I am for 35-37 as the closer they grow to the light. the more the DLI increases.
