i decided to give my girls their first cut. i used the so called Fuck I Missed technique in which there is the possibilty to grow up to even 8 new main stems. i'm currently stil thinking if i should do this multiple times or use topping. next week i will post the results from the cuts and hopefully they are all done correctly. the plants are getting a great smell even though it is still weak.

the results of the FIM cuts are great, all the plants are showing 4-6 new main cola's as intended and are looking great and healthy. the Sapphire scout is with 38 centimeter currently the tallest plant followed by the Sugar Breath's with 32 and 28 centimeters, the gorilla Breath's tend to have the most indica genes when looking at the development and length with 23 and 25 centimeter heights. this weekend the girls will be placed outside but more info will follow! today 13-05-2019 i transplanted all the plants outside, the root development of the girls were very good but unfortunately i forgot to make a nice shot of it. they look beautifull in the garden. the first two plants are the Gorilla Breath's, in the middle i placed the Sapphire scout and the last 2 plants are the Sugar Breath's.

so the girls have been outside for their first week now and some of the plants have bleached like leaves. could this be from the switch to outside? i didn't place like a lamp above them when growing inside so could it be because of the intensity of the direct sunlight compared to growing behind a window?

the leaf bleaching seems to be over since the new growth is nicely green. i think the reason was the PH level of the soil itselve. The plants are still growing nicely and are starting to get more bushy as intended. when the branches are long enough i will mainline them to the outer sides of the cage. i removed all the lower growth, as this will never recieve enough sun to become good quality weed

the plants are growing like crazy. They become more bushy every day and are showing healthy new growth. I'm almost able to mainline the branches through the cage to begin creating nice bush shaped plants. i'm thinking of lollipopping/stripping the smaller growth at the lower parts of each branch to focus the growth at the upper part of the plant. let me know what you guys think of this idea

the ladys grew a lot last week due to the combination of hot sunny weather and plenty of rain, the highest plant which is now 79 centimeters grew an astonishing 16 centimeters in just one week. i have mainlined all the branches through the cages and tried to spread them evenly. during the mainlining i broke one branch of one of the Sugar Breath's. i have taped the branch but it doesn't look like the branch will make it. we will see how she does next week and otherwise it is an unintended topped branch so no worries. Curious out!

as the second week of June is just on it's end and the weather has had it's ups and downs with a lot of rain and some nice sunny days the plants keep growing day by day. The tallest plant reached a height of 86 centimeters or 33.85 inch so i'm getting close to the 1 meter mark. But hopefully they will grow much bigger as they have plenty of time left. Last year i a grew Blue Dream and a Chocolope in pots which reached a total height of 1,38 meter, which both yielded 30 grams each. What i should mention about the plants from last year is that the seeds weren't bought but came out of a friends weed. So this year it was all out with premium seeds, more knowledge and experience, great soil and hopefully the best weather

another week had passed and i am in full joy. the weather is really good lately with a lot of sun and rain in the evening. gorilla breath #1, the Sapphire scout and Sugar breath #1 are literally becoming bushes. the gorilla breath #2 and the Sugar breath #2 aren't quite growing nicely as the others and tend to have gaps in their canopy which have to be filled up. since i am only home in the weekend i don't have the amount of time to spend on the plants as i wished. they are becoming stronger in smell by the week and have a really complex smell with hints of diesel, cinnamon and vanille from the Sugar Breath's, some hints of diesel, grapes and berries from the Sapphire scout and hints of Chocolate diesel with vanille from the gorilla Breath's.

and another week of pure madness. the girls are growing around 15 centimeters a week now and keep developing side branches after side branches, i added some pictures to show this. especialle the gorilla breath #1, the Sapphire scout and the Sugar breath #1 are truly amazingly beautifull. i haven't done much lately except for watering them since the temperatures are between 26-37 degrees Fahrenheit here. i have been thinking to try and defoliate them a bit but i can't even get through the canopy easily. so would you guys still suggest to strip some leaves down from the bottom or is that more a trick for inside? and how about a second caging or a net to keep the branches from Breaking? is this advised, because i certainly would think so.

soooo.... they become bigger and bigger and bigger. QUESTION: leave a comment on how big you think they will be when the flowering starts and how big they will be when they are fully grown. so how tall and how wide. tip: they are currently growing 10-15 centimeters a week. and the biggest plants are around 1.30m-1.40m wide.

what a week! we had a whole week with temperatures ranging from 33-42 degrees Celsius, and heavy rain in the weekend. the girls have nonetheless been growing like nothing happened. a couple of weeks left untill the flowering starts (26th of August in my region). i found some coloring on some leaves, could this be a nutriënt deficiency? i am thinking of applying super cropping on two or three of my plants, they have some shoots that are way taller than the rest of the plant so that this could help me to regain that even canopy. is super cropping they way to go or should i simply top them, as i am not sure if the stems will be laying horizontally after the super cropping and could have the possible danger of Snapping during flowering??? -----------------update----------------- i supercropped gorilla breath #2, Sugar breath #1 & Sugar breath #2. one of the branches of Sugar breath #1 snapped partially so i taped her up. i'll show the results this weekend.

they have not been growing much in lateral direction more horizontally since i used the super cropping on my plants to maintain that nice and even canopy. so the super cropping helped a lot with the even canopy. only downside is that the branches didn't come back up and keep hanging down what stimulates the same branch to make even more side branches ( don't get me wrong, yes this is good but since it's hanging i'm nog sure if it will support the weight). i added some aerial pictures like last time, to give a better view on how bushy they are.

so the weather hasn't been the best. the temperatures were ok but it was windy, it rained a lot and it was clouded. they are not growing as hard as before so i think they are making ready to start flowering. as adviced by larimar i will be using Bamboo sticks to support my plants. i might even get some nets but i will have to find good ones first. as an update on a couple of weeks ago i adres pictures of all the super cropped stems. they were done in three plants : gorilla breath #2 , Sugar breath #1 & Sugar breath #2. it already is an more even canopy and hopefully i can run a test, i would like to see if the super cropping really stimulates in giving bigger flowers. so i have my control group which are the left over stems and the super cropped stems.

the stretch has begun. in just 9 days the flowers are gonna start to form. i've been trying to give the plants more support. i placed a bunch of Bamboo through the cages to support the branches and placed a net on the smallest plant. ( the net's holes were too small, so i cut it up. only problem, since i can't reach the other plants that well i can't do the same for them. yet.) i'm working on it, i haven't had that much of time lately to work on the plants and the weather isn't helping either. most of the plants reached the height of 180 centimeters and maybe 190 before flowering. curious how big they will become when it all starts.

in about 3 days according to the textbook the flowers will start to form (26th of August in my region) and i am really seeing more and more pistils showing up in the plants. when looking at the grow rates, i'm having the Idea that this is the first stretch week + the forming of a lot of pistils. next week would be the first week of flowering / stretch even tho i have had the feeling this had already commenced. the plants are ready to explode and begin giving a stronger aroma, can't wait for the smell and cola's during flowering. i shot some photo's this morning, but didn't have that much time. Today i went on vacation for a week, so the next update will be uploaded around the 2nd of September.

yeah! flowering has officially begun. three of the plants show strong Signs of flowering, these are the gorilla breath #1, gorilla breath #2 and the Sapphire scout. Both of the Sugar breath's tend to take a little longer as they do not show that much signs yet. the Sugar breath #2 has had An explosive growth week and is really showing her stretch. most plants are above the 200 cm mark, they have crushed all my expectations if i look back at last year when i was just starting and experimenting a lot. last week i got a lot of tips and tricks from some awesome growers on this platform. they shared a lot i didn't knew before which i'm trying to implement to my grow. i bought a jar of dark molasses which i will be using throughout the watering of the plants. i'll be using 1,5-2 spoons on 5 Liters of water. they will stimulate the soil microbes and give me the nutes my plants began missing during the last weeks. i haven't add that much photo's this time, do you like it like this or should i add more? and what kind of photo's? the plants from left to right in the picture and the current height of the plants are: gorilla breath 1#: 212 cm gorilla breath 2#: 208 cm Sapphire scout: 198 cm Sugar breath 1#: 195 cm Sugar breath 2#: 180 cm

the bud formation is ridiculous. they are getting so damn frosty and smell amazing. the buds are already bigger than last year when i was still experimenting a lot. i'm really checking the plants daily for budrot and other pests or problems but still not a thing. let's keep it like this. some branches are beginning to hang a little bit so i'm going to support them a bit more. i have the feeling that the plants really enjoy the molasses additive to the soil since i have not been seeing that much yellow leaves turn up lately.

okay after a whole week with rain, and one more week go rain to goi just have to face it, budrot and stemrot have been found. i added pics of the stemrot i found on the Sapphire scout, took away the branch and got rid of the whole infected area. the bud with budrot had been cut off, it was at a very very early age, Just a tiny spec. Because of what i found i took pictures of the trichomes. looks milky to me but today week 7 ended and 8 began so i'm skeptic in chopping them down, even tho i don't want to lose it all due to botrytis. i'm planning to chop down the 2 gorilla breath's and the Sapphire scout in about 2 weeks, Because the week after i'm on vacation and then they are right in the 3 week zone of being good to harvest. today i'm setting up a sort of roof for them. update : the roof unfortunately isn't going to happen due to not having high enough attachment points. soooo.. i would like to kindly ask to have a look at the close ups from the trichomes and guess if they are in the harvestable zone or not. because i'm not sure.

disaster struck.. during a heavy storm the cage of the gorilla breath #1 which was the best looking plant collapsed. the stem didn't break but every attempt to place it back failed. i ended up using rope attached to a pole and then to the cage to make it kinda better. unfortunately due to the fact that the plant laid down on his side for a couple days, i found multiple spots of budrot. so... the plan is to chop her down tomorrow. the trichomes aren't quite ready yet but i guess i'll have to save what's left. the other plants are hanging more by the day as they are really bulking up, i had planned to chop down the gorilla breath's and the Sapphire scout next friday on the 11th of october. then they'll have finshed their 9th week of flowering but the gorilla breath #1 is probably going down tomorrow, what do you think? should i do it tomorrow or Just wait another week and keep checking daily

no signs of pests during the grow. only one time i had ants trying to infest one plant but easily got rid of them by using cinnamon around the stem. she grows easy and is fun to train, you don't have to be an expert. in the late flowering i got some budrot in both plants and stalled the harvest by inspecting and cutting it away daily, haven't lost a lot due to it. i would recommend this strain as she is a high trichome producer, big yielder and easy to grow plant that gives nice buds with a good smell and greath high. she is a strain that makes you talkative, giggly and euphoric and is surely gonna give you a good sleep. be sure to go easy on her as she is a strong breed. an amazing strain to grow. she creates colourfull purple buds filled with trichomes that is really good for the chilling occasions, be sure not to have to go somewhere as she will last long and prepare for a joyfull evening with lots of laughing and good talks. i'll post more pictures after the drying process!

I see PISTILS!👍 It's about to get really stanky up in there..I sure hope you have some fragrant ornamentals strategically planted to throw your neighbors off the scent..spearmint or peppermint, basil, rosemary, etc...juvenile delinquents, too lazy or unable to grow their own, will catch a whiff from blocks away on a windy day and follow their nose right to your garden...👹 One other tip for you... As closely planted and bushy as they are, once your buds have formed pretty well, it will become your new mission in life to prevent bud rot after you have precipitation. If it rains and doesn't immediately get sunny with a breeze, but remains calm and cloudy..take the time to go out and grab their stalks and shake them vigorously to cause as much water as possible to fall to the ground. Flowers getting wet is all part of nature, they can handle it...but to leave them wet for an extended period will cause botrytis which spreads like wildfire and completely destroys your produce. The way they are situated, it really might even be worth it for you to buy something like this and roll it out after it rains and get some air moving all through them: https://www.amazon.com/gp/slredirect/picassoRedirect.html/ref=pa_sp_atf_aps_sr_pg1_2?ie=UTF8&adId=A06180922K0DC1PZHMMK8&url=%2FMaster-PROFESSIONAL-MAC-24DCT-EP-Velocity-tiltable%2Fdp%2FB07PF5DBWP%2Fref%3Dsr_1_2_sspa%3Fcrid%3DDXHPAP40HG7M%26keywords%3Dcommercial%2Bfans%2Bhigh%2Bvelocity%26qid%3D1567487407%26s%3Dgateway%26sprefix%3Dcommercial%2Bfan%252Caps%252C179%26sr%3D8-2-spons%26psc%3D1&qualifier=1567487407&id=2427301466624495&widgetName=sp_atf or even a pair of these: https://www.amazon.com/STANLEY-ST-310A-120-Heavy-Duty-Utility-Blower/dp/B07RKLCG8X/ref=sr_1_15?crid=DXHPAP40HG7M&keywords=commercial+fans+high+velocity&qid=1567487407&s=gateway&sprefix=commercial+fan%2Caps%2C179&sr=8-15

@the_curious_grower, I've been a victim of bud rot and plant theft, so unfortunately, those things are always at the front of my mind. As heavily laden with flowers as your plants will become, you'll want to put on a wetsuit before you shake them 😁 Don't trust mother nature to dry your plants out with a nice breeze after a thorough rain...be prepared!
the_curious_grower
the_curious_growercommented6 years ago
love the comment, i have some lavendel plants in the garden, but i doubt they will mask the scent when in full bloom.. i know man, i didn't think at first i would accomplish in getting the plants this big, but space is really an issue at the moment. the first plant (the one on the left) has the most room and is currently the biggest because of that. she doesn't have that much of a battle for the light.that's a really good tip, shaking of the rain, in my country it can rain very often with pretty low temps so i should definately do that. the placement of the plants which is almost the middle of the garden supplies them with good wind between all the houses.

damn that is suh a shame man. I can't Imagine the feeling having to cut away buds and whole branches due to rotting and losing so much of your yield. hopefully we will get some good dry last weeks. i rather water them myselve then, instead of the rain.

@the_curious_grower, as the saying by @Silverback_Guerilla.... now our enemies is rain, cold, humidity… the tip of shaking plants after rain is a basic but very good tip…... that you have to follow especially if the blooming stage is Advanced and buds well formed…showing resin 3 years ago i got a nightmare end of summer and autumn...rain all days on the 2sd and 3rd Week of september….with cold temps and wind….i saw all my plants attacked by mold….😭😓 and even if i cutted rotten buds i lost the major part of my yield and few plants…. I hope this year will not be the same for all outdoors growers….🙏 Ôm nama Shivaya 🕉️

Looking good Curious. Let those babies bush up. As for outdoor techniques just look up growers from Humboldt County or any where in the emerald triangle in California. They grow monsters there and have been since the hippy days. IMO they are the best

Well I think we can safely say these are no longer plants rather small tree's 👌 Really impressive growth mate and by the look of things it's time for these ladies to enter bloom 🤗 Big plants, very healthy looking with maybe a little bit of extra feed needed for the plant yellowing up a little early 👍 Apart from that we are impressed 👏 Please keep the outdoor updates coming my friend 👊 With love from Humboldt County✌️ Kind regards Team-HSO..

Shad, yes ! keep the plant's side shoots pointing as upright as possible when you design the second cageing , this will keep the weight nice and hopefully lead to a bigger plant with bigger buds ! hope this helps ! 🚀

well if you have no signs of budrot on the other pants , let them grow... and start to harvest your injured one. Budrots sucks totally , in my opinion every bud that shows a sign of it throw away.. because it spreads and dont stop during curing. I tend to open up big buds to look into, and if i see a weired spot of budrot, i trow it away .... i had some hard lessons to do it like that... But back to the other pants.. you can defoilate them and take away most of the fanleaves, so your work is minimized on harvest day... but only if harvest only 10-12 dys away,,, and they get more airflow

the_curious_growercommented5 years ago
yeah that's what i'm doing. i took down the gorilla breaths and the sapphire scout since they had Signs of budrot. i left the Sugar breath's in the garden since they didn't have any signs and weren't as far into flower as the others.

oumaan you got such a nice Garden. I like your Pictures too, especially the Closeups. And its a good thing t give them a roof. we will have more Rain in the upcoming week.So lets pray for a lot of sunny and dry days, so the Ladies get ripe
the_curious_grower
the_curious_growercommented5 years ago
thanks, yeah come on give us some nice Sunny weather for the last weeks ! based on the close-up trichome pictures, can you tell from it if a lot is milky? i want to harvest asap due to this weather. the roof idea has unfortunately failed due to not having high enough points to attach it to
the end.
