the last few days have been great, nice sunny weather with some rainy moments. the plants are bulking up and the flowers are really becoming bigger by the week. the smells are great during a hot sunny day, they smell pretty strong already.

I see PISTILS!👍 It's about to get really stanky up in there..I sure hope you have some fragrant ornamentals strategically planted to throw your neighbors off the scent..spearmint or peppermint, basil, rosemary, etc...juvenile delinquents, too lazy or unable to grow their own, will catch a whiff from blocks away on a windy day and follow their nose right to your garden...👹 One other tip for you... As closely planted and bushy as they are, once your buds have formed pretty well, it will become your new mission in life to prevent bud rot after you have precipitation. If it rains and doesn't immediately get sunny with a breeze, but remains calm and cloudy..take the time to go out and grab their stalks and shake them vigorously to cause as much water as possible to fall to the ground. Flowers getting wet is all part of nature, they can handle it...but to leave them wet for an extended period will cause botrytis which spreads like wildfire and completely destroys your produce. The way they are situated, it really might even be worth it for you to buy something like this and roll it out after it rains and get some air moving all through them: https://www.amazon.com/gp/slredirect/picassoRedirect.html/ref=pa_sp_atf_aps_sr_pg1_2?ie=UTF8&adId=A06180922K0DC1PZHMMK8&url=%2FMaster-PROFESSIONAL-MAC-24DCT-EP-Velocity-tiltable%2Fdp%2FB07PF5DBWP%2Fref%3Dsr_1_2_sspa%3Fcrid%3DDXHPAP40HG7M%26keywords%3Dcommercial%2Bfans%2Bhigh%2Bvelocity%26qid%3D1567487407%26s%3Dgateway%26sprefix%3Dcommercial%2Bfan%252Caps%252C179%26sr%3D8-2-spons%26psc%3D1&qualifier=1567487407&id=2427301466624495&widgetName=sp_atf or even a pair of these: https://www.amazon.com/STANLEY-ST-310A-120-Heavy-Duty-Utility-Blower/dp/B07RKLCG8X/ref=sr_1_15?crid=DXHPAP40HG7M&keywords=commercial+fans+high+velocity&qid=1567487407&s=gateway&sprefix=commercial+fan%2Caps%2C179&sr=8-15

@the_curious_grower, I've been a victim of bud rot and plant theft, so unfortunately, those things are always at the front of my mind. As heavily laden with flowers as your plants will become, you'll want to put on a wetsuit before you shake them 😁 Don't trust mother nature to dry your plants out with a nice breeze after a thorough rain...be prepared!

love the comment, i have some lavendel plants in the garden, but i doubt they will mask the scent when in full bloom.. i know man, i didn't think at first i would accomplish in getting the plants this big, but space is really an issue at the moment. the first plant (the one on the left) has the most room and is currently the biggest because of that. she doesn't have that much of a battle for the light.that's a really good tip, shaking of the rain, in my country it can rain very often with pretty low temps so i should definately do that. the placement of the plants which is almost the middle of the garden supplies them with good wind between all the houses.

damn that is suh a shame man. I can't Imagine the feeling having to cut away buds and whole branches due to rotting and losing so much of your yield. hopefully we will get some good dry last weeks. i rather water them myselve then, instead of the rain.

@the_curious_grower, as the saying by @Silverback_Guerilla.... now our enemies is rain, cold, humidity… the tip of shaking plants after rain is a basic but very good tip…... that you have to follow especially if the blooming stage is Advanced and buds well formed…showing resin 3 years ago i got a nightmare end of summer and autumn...rain all days on the 2sd and 3rd Week of september….with cold temps and wind….i saw all my plants attacked by mold….😭😓 and even if i cutted rotten buds i lost the major part of my yield and few plants…. I hope this year will not be the same for all outdoors growers….🙏 Ôm nama Shivaya 🕉️

Looking good Curious. Let those babies bush up. As for outdoor techniques just look up growers from Humboldt County or any where in the emerald triangle in California. They grow monsters there and have been since the hippy days. IMO they are the best
the_curious_grower

thanks for the tip cannacanuck, i will definately be checking them out. i have been following "kaligrownbudz" on YouTube aswell, he is experienced in growing nice bushes.

@the_curious_grower, Check out our friends from Mendocino county "Mendo Dope"👍 The boys have a YouTube channel and they grow monsters in the hills 👊 Big beautiful plants being grown as nature intended 👌 With love from Humboldt County✌️ Kind regards Team-HSO..

Well I think we can safely say these are no longer plants rather small tree's 👌 Really impressive growth mate and by the look of things it's time for these ladies to enter bloom 🤗 Big plants, very healthy looking with maybe a little bit of extra feed needed for the plant yellowing up a little early 👍 Apart from that we are impressed 👏 Please keep the outdoor updates coming my friend 👊 With love from Humboldt County✌️ Kind regards Team-HSO..

Shad, yes ! keep the plant's side shoots pointing as upright as possible when you design the second cageing , this will keep the weight nice and hopefully lead to a bigger plant with bigger buds ! hope this helps ! 🚀

well if you have no signs of budrot on the other pants , let them grow... and start to harvest your injured one. Budrots sucks totally , in my opinion every bud that shows a sign of it throw away.. because it spreads and dont stop during curing. I tend to open up big buds to look into, and if i see a weired spot of budrot, i trow it away .... i had some hard lessons to do it like that... But back to the other pants.. you can defoilate them and take away most of the fanleaves, so your work is minimized on harvest day... but only if harvest only 10-12 dys away,,, and they get more airflow
the_curious_grower
the_curious_growercommented5 years ago
yeah that's what i'm doing. i took down the gorilla breaths and the sapphire scout since they had Signs of budrot. i left the Sugar breath's in the garden since they didn't have any signs and weren't as far into flower as the others.

oumaan you got such a nice Garden. I like your Pictures too, especially the Closeups. And its a good thing t give them a roof. we will have more Rain in the upcoming week.So lets pray for a lot of sunny and dry days, so the Ladies get ripe
the_curious_grower
the_curious_growercommented5 years ago
thanks, yeah come on give us some nice Sunny weather for the last weeks ! based on the close-up trichome pictures, can you tell from it if a lot is milky? i want to harvest asap due to this weather. the roof idea has unfortunately failed due to not having high enough points to attach it to
