PapaTerps Day 1 - seed popped out of its container and dropped into a plain glass of water, placed in a dark cool room.
Day 4 - after a couple of days in the water, she wasn't looking like she wanted to pop, so I added an extra seed in to preempt failure, as I have already lost three seeds this winter. But thankfully, the next day she had popped and a big Taproot had emerged - the second seed has also popped open, so I will be growing two of these beauties this winter 🤘🏻 I will grow the first seed in a 20L pot and the second in a 10L pot.
Day 6 - she has appeared from the soil 🎉 she needed some help getting her shell off, which I removed with a tweezers. Watered with 100ml of plain RO tap water.
Day 8 - fed with another 100ml RO tap water, pH'd to 6.3. she's growing nicely, however, her partner in crime has not yet appeared from the soil. I brushed away some soil to look for her, only to find the seed with its tiny tap root and little progress made, so I've throw that second seed out.
Day 10 - she's progressing nicely, she's just starting to grow her second set of leaves, so from next week, she'll be in veg 🎉

Day 12 - she has started growing her third set of leaves, so from today, I consider her in veg. I've watered her today with 250ml of RO tap water, with the pH at 6.3, which came naturally 👍🏻 this has been happening a lot lately, usually the pH comes to 6.8-7.0, but I guess my new RO filter is doing a great job👍🏻

Day 16 - watered with 500ml of RO tap water with nutrients. Shes growing "okay", but shes not where I expected her to be; I might have to raise the light a few cm to get her to stretch more, because her node spacing isn't good; barely 1cm between each node level.

Day 22 - watered with .5L of RO tap water with nutrients, pH'd to 6.3. She has started to grow a bit better as of last week, she has grown to a size which allowed me to start some LST on her, by pinning down her auxiliary branches and removing a few of her larger fan leaves.
Notes:
- Some pistils have appeared on her main stem, which tells me she is entering maturity. I expect her to start transitioning into flower soon; barely three weeks of veg, it's pretty fast - I'm not expecting a huge yield off this one...

Day 32 - watered with 1L of RO tap water with nutrients, pH'd to 6.3. She has been growing really well this week - I've added the bloom nutrient to her feed, as she has now started her transition into flower; her pistils are showing all over her stems/nodes and flower has started to develop at each node also.
Notes:
- I've continued to defoliate her, to ensure light penetration is at max for each node.
- I've also used the LST method, by pinning each auxiliary stem down and away from the main stem, to increase node spacing.

Day 38 - watering upped to 2L, made up of RO tap water with defined nutrients, and pH'd to 6.3.
Notes:
- Amazing growth this week, nearly doubled her size! Lots of bud sites on her now, but she has yet to develop a smell...
- Internodal spacing is almost perfect, with bud sites popping up at least a few centimeters apart!
- I've lolly-popped her lower stems and removed a few of her fan leaves, to improve light penetration, but honestly, she probably didn't need it.

Day 45 - watering upped to 2L, made up of RO tap water with defined nutrients, and pH'd to 6.3. She's growing impressively well, she visually looks like a piece of art and her smell has started to fill the tent; sweet candy. Internodal spacing is perfect, all bud sites are getting decent light at minimum 🤘🏻
Notes:
- she's growing really well, other than some light LST and removing a couple of leaves, I've basically just fed her and let her grow 👏🏻

Day 51 - watered with 2L of RO tap water with defined nutrients. She's has stopped growing and is focusing all her energy on bulking now, as her flower gets taller and thicker, and her arouma is now filling the tent; a rich, sweet smell, really beautiful. 👌 I have to say, I'm very impressed with her, she is so beautiful and requires little to no work, this week was the first time I've had to perform any real defoliation on her since she entered bloom and it was only to remove smaller fan leaves around the bud sites, to allow more light to get to them.
Notes:
- Looking at her today, I would say she's around 2-3 weeks from harvest, which would be one of my fastest seed-to-harvests ever 💪

Day 56 - Watered with 2L of RO tap water with defined nutrients, pH'd to 6.3 - for reference, I usually water when the moisture content of the soil reaches around 8-10%, then I water until either I see a good amount of runoff, or the moisture content reaches around 30%, then I let it settle to around 25%. This week, she has mainly been focusing on bulking her flower, so other than removing a couple of fan leaves to allow light to reach bud sites, I haven't done much with her; really, other than a small amount of training and defoliation, as well as a little bit of lollipoping on the lower stems, its pretty much all I've had to do with her - she has been really easy to grow!! Looking at her today, I would say shes about 10-15 days away from harvest, max!
Notes:
- she has entered the last couple week of her lifecycle, so I've moved her into the center of the tent, to give her the best light concentration.
- she was showing signs of Calcium deficiency, so I've upped her CalMag from 0.5 to 1 ml/L
- her internodal spacing is amazing, I can see each individual bud site grow, which has been really cool.
- from a structural perspective, shes the best looking plant I've ever grown! If she smokes well, I will grow this strain again.
- I will begin flushing her from the end of this week, to prepare her for harvest.

Day 63 - This beautiful girl is less than a week from harvest, so for the past two waterings sessions, she has received just pain RO tap water, pH'd to 6.3. This process is known as "flushing" and it is essential to remove salt built up in the soil and plant. I will flush her over the next few days, allowing her soil to dry back to around 10% before I flush her again - I will do this step three or four times before I harvest. I've also removed a good portion of her fan leaves, to allow any bud site that might have been covered, to get a final weeks worth of direct light.
Notes:
- she is foxtailing in some parts, but not in others and the PPFD is in a normal range (800-1200) for this stage, so I'm assuming this is a genetic defect!? The Papaya Zoap and Do-Si-Dos, which are directly to her left and right, are a couple of weeks behind, and are not showing signs of foxtailing... Either way, she is just for me, so I'm not too worried about it, if anything, it makes her more beautiful!
- her aroma is very sweet with some earthy undertones, very typical for Runtz.
- the color on her cola's has changed in places, from green to purple, which is just beautiful!
- around 90% of her trichomes are milky with around 2-5% being amber and 5% clear.
- the majority of her pistils have turned orange, with some white pistils appearing from new growth only.
- I could have started flushing her a few days earlier, but she still looked like she was bulking; that has now stopped.
Nice strain, great structure and really easy to grow but is susceptible to foxtailing, which will decrease the total yield. Her smell is strong sweet with earthy undertones and her buds are big, but not very dense because of the foxtailing... I will add a smoke report once she's finished her dry and cure.

Day 66 - harvest day 🎉🎉 around 80% of her pistils had turned amber with white pistils only showing on newer growth. Around 95% of her trichomes had turned Milky with around 5% being amber. She has been flushed three times, so I was happy to harvest her 🙏🏻 I performed a wet trim on her, cut individual bud sites off and have her bounty drying at a cool dark room at 60% humidity for 10 days before she's put into glass jars and cured for about a month. Smoke report to follow.
