Germination

AstrasGrow For the germination of the new Orange Bud Seeds, the classic and very reliable "Water–Paper Towel–Coconut" method was used. 🔹 Step 1: Soaking in Water The seeds were first placed in a glass or cup with lukewarm water. After a few hours, most of the seeds sink to the bottom – a sign that they have absorbed moisture and are ready to germinate. 🔹 Step 2: 24 Hours in Paper Towel After the water bath, the seeds were moved to a damp paper towel. They stay there for about 24 hours until the sprout becomes visible. The paper towel is kept moist but never soaking wet – perfect conditions for a stable start. 🔹 Step 3: Moving to Coconut Once the sprout has pushed out about 2–5 mm, the seeds are carefully placed into a coconut medium. Coconut provides good aeration and prevents waterlogging – ideal for healthy, strong roots from day one.

AstrasGrow 🌿 Week 2 – Vegetation: The Little Ones Are Gaining Momentum The babies have successfully completed the germination phase and are now visibly entering the early vegetative phase. The first true leaves (Serrated Leaves) are fully developed, and the plants are beginning to build strength and structure. • The little plants are stable in the substrate from WizzysGarden - Living Soil and are orienting themselves towards the light – a very good sign. • The first leaf pairs are a vibrant green and free from discoloration. • The leaves are nicely symmetrical, indicating healthy genetics and good starting conditions. • The root growth is visibly strong: the plants appear firmly anchored and are growing evenly. • The substrate is loose and moist, but not overwatered – ideal for the early phase.

AstrasGrow The young plants are developing steadily and are responding very well to the Living Soil. This week, they were fed with cane sugar to keep the microorganisms in the soil active and continuously releasing nutrients. Additionally, there was a light dose of WizzysGarden fertilizer to ensure the basic supply. After their somewhat slower start, they are now really picking up speed: You can see daily how they are gaining size, leaf mass, and strength. The leaves look healthy, vibrant, and show a nice, even green – a good sign that the soil biology is kicking in and the plants are feeling good.

AstrasGrow The Orange Bud is now clearly picking up speed. Here, plant whispering was also used to give the ladies a strong energy boost and prepare them ideally for the upcoming flowering. Afterwards, the plants were topped to promote growth and create more side branches as well as stronger tops. The development looks promising – the ladies are really stepping it up now!

AstrasGrow Transition to Flowering – First Signs Visible The topped / filmed tips are now clearly growing further and showing very good development. The plants are responding robustly and stably to the previous measures. To better supply the lower shoots with light, four large sun sails were intentionally removed. This allows more light to reach the lower areas, promoting more even growth. One plant is already showing the first signs of flowering – a clear signal for the transition to the next phase. For this reason, the grow will now officially be referred to as flowering week.

AstrasGrow Unfortunately, the lady started to form seeds herself... so I had to let her go. I would have liked to give her another week. But I think she still looks good.

AstrasGrow For just being a 12/12 test (going straight into flowering from the start), I'm quite satisfied. Unfortunately, one didn't make it, but the risk of seed formation was too high for me.
