Budoken Only one plant made it to the nft system, other one died, maybe because of transplanting too early. It had very little root growth and progress overall. This healthy one has been poking roots through the cube aĺl week, and is now ready to start it's real growth phase. Hoping to see fast progress once those roots start growing along the nft tray. Light 25%, bottom feeding light nutes

Budoken Good growth after transplanting to nft. While I was away for a day, plant had started clawing/curling down leaf tips. Possibly nitrogen toxicity or ph too high (was 6.2 when checked). Diluted reservoir with some lower ph water. Light at 50% now.

Budoken Solved the issue with clawing and twisting leaves by adding air stones in the reservoir. The plant perked up within 24 hours and is growing well now. 3/4 strength nutrient solution and 75% light power.

Budoken Catastrophe nearly avoided. Pump had failed one evening, noticed it the next day and the plant was badly wilted (~12h without water). Lost quite a many leaves but otherwise it bounced back really well luckily. This single point of failure is one big downside of this nft setup.
Instead of changing whole res, topped the remaining veg solution with flowering nutes since the plant is still stretching a bit. Still using 3/4 strength but girl seems to eat well and ec is dropping slowly so will start feeding full strength soon.
Overall, quite happy how things are progressing. Will start cleaning the underside soon and get rid of the branches that dont seem to make it to the canopy level.

Budoken Week went smoothly 👌Plant has been hungry, ec dropping from 1.0 to 0.7. Ph has been drifting a little high around 6.2, added some ph- to bring at down a touch. I had to top some nutes too, added both Vega and Flores. Also decided to do defoliate quite a lot of leaves from top and middle, plant is so bushy. Trying to get better light penetration and air flow. Light is running 100%.
At the end of this week, made full res change and flush, now start running full Flores dosage. Let's see how the plant will react.

Budoken Solid week, mainly just adjusting the ph down and topping the reservoir with 20l more of nutrient solution. Ec 1.6 was bit too much I believe, minor tip burn appeared. Dialed it down to 1.3-1.4, and it seems to be ok.
Had two leaf plucking sessions, removed a bunch of shadowing leaves from the top and lot of leaves from the middle. There are so many branches right next to each other, I need to keep clearing leaves to allow even a little space around each.
I also installed a new fan, Ac Infinity T4, seems really good with many options from it's controller and mainly is a lot quieter than the old one I have.

Budoken Minor ph issues with it rising to 6.5, some rust spots appearing on some of the leaves. I was too busy this week to keep a close to eye to it, just adding some ph down twice. Did a full res change and will try to monitor the ph more closely next week.
Buds are forming nicely and the smell is becoming more prominent. Still plucking some leaves every few days to allow light to lower branches. It's my first try with an autoflower and totally blown away how big this plant is getting! Maybe around 4 more weeks until it's finished?

Budoken Week went well and buds are gaining size, no ph issues this week. Yesterday decided to tackle the overcrowding issue and create more space between the branches. Removed a lot of leaves (for the last time) and bent many of the branches through different holes of the net. There were many bud sites that hadn't seen proper light in weeks. Unfortunately one of the main branches snapped off from the base, tried to duct tape & zip tie it back but I'm afraid it won't recover.
Well, it was my own fault but a good reminder to not handle the plant too roughly this late.. and also to make some support for the rest of the branches before they gain their final weight.
I'm considering trying some Bloombastic or similar bloom booster for the last half of flowering.

Budoken The branch I snapped last weekend definitely didn't make it, left it there for the pics (as a warning 😄).
All seems good in the tent, buds are swelling. I noticed that the plant started to grow lot of new pistils, wonder if it's foxtailing from stress or just final push?? Shouldn't be light stress, as it is happening evenly all over and some of the buds are much further from the light. Could be stress from the damage I caused. I also added a dose of Rokzbastic so maybe that P-K boost just gave it some new energy.. Anyways, not too stressed about it, as the plant doesn't seem to be close to finish yet. Two more weeks perhaps?
Next week will go with 1/2 strength Canna aqua and 0.5ml/l Rokzbastic (total ec 1.6) solution I topped the reservoir with.
Also bought a cheap usb microscope to check the tricomes and to post some close up pics too. It has maybe 50-60x magnification, definitely not 1000x as advertised, but that I already expected for the price.

Budoken Not much to do this week. Nutrient solution was too strong, plant doesn't seem to need much anymore and ec kept rising from 1.6 to 1.8. I drained the reservoir, flushed the system twice with water, and then filled it back with the same solution but diluted it to ec 1.0.
Pistils are starting to do darken, except for the new bud growth that has emerged. Will continue to keep an eye on it during next week, harvest ia not that far away. Will flush for 2-3 days once the plant is done.

Budoken Getting to the harvest window soon! I've been going back and forth with how close the plant is to finish and what kind of solution I should be running. Decided to keep minimal feed going.
That foxtailing is throwing me off, from above it looks like nowhere near but I've been looking at the the lower parts of the buds where the maturation is further. Trichomes are mostly cloudy, but no amber, only in few selected spots.
I will start doing a partial harvesting next week.
Buds are getting frostier by the day so I try not to rush, but I also dont want to take them too far.
Extremely happy with the strain. The size, resistance, potency and ease of growth surprised me. A solid choice for new and experienced growers.

Budoken Harvest:
200g dry total
Two big jars full of trims and aery buds.
Final update: this is a bit overdue, I've been enjoying the fruits of labor too much perhaps 😎
Buds have been curing for a month in Grove bags, the big one has 100g and the rest are in smaller bags. Didn't need the mason jars, instead I put the trims there. I really like those Grove bags, so easy to use, initial drying and then just filled the bags. No need to burp, just set and forget.
Really happy with the outcome, now I have smoke for few years 😂 Many of the buds were a bit fluffy, maybe just because there were so so many bud sites. The main branches were dense and heavy. Also, the foxtailing made some of them look not so perfect but I don't mind really.
Smoke is pleasant, flavorful and good high. No anxiety, just relaxed and happy.
Still need to decarb and make oil from all the trims, it'll make a big load of cookies etc. which I really like. Gives a steady 2-3h high hopefully.
Now I will be having a break for some time, since the current location is not the best for growing. Hope to get back into it soon though, I didn't remember how much fun it is until doing this project again after a long time ✌️
Trouble in paradise, a week ago I noticed spots of mold in few branches farthest from the fan. So I cut them off and put to waste. I also decided to cut all the remaining big branches as a safety measure. Rest of the plant was harvested a week later and now the project is wrapped apart from drying and curing.
Overall, it's been fun despite of making some mistakes along the way. But I will take the learnings for the future projects. This was my first autoflower try and I've been positively surprised by it's qualities. Plant was resilient and didn't care that much about any issues it had. It grew bigger than I expected and was actually overcrowded. NFT system worked great, as did the nutrients.
The first batch of buds are almost ready to go to curing and the rest will take a week or so to follow. I will try curing in Grove bags and in mason jars. I will post a final update once I get to trim the rest and also try the fruits of labor 😎
