DogDoctorOfficial Week Report All Amnesia Skunk girls are growing beautifully and very consistently. No exceptions so far — they are all behaving almost identically, which is always a great sign at this stage. 🌿 Growth & Structure • Plants are reaching the 4th to 5th node • If we count cotyledons / single leaves, we’re already well into structure • True leaves (with more than one finger): currently 2 full sets and developing nicely • Internodal spacing looks healthy • Overall vigor is strong and steady They are doing exactly what we want them to do right now: 👉 Building roots and structure, not rushing the top. Uniformity All plants are: • Very similar in size • Very similar in structure • Showing no standout weak or dominant individual (yet) For now, we are keeping all of them. If they all continue performing, we may simply grow them all. If later one shows weakness, we’ll decide then — no rush, no forcing decisions early. 🍃 Leaf Health Earlier on, some funky-looking leaves appeared during early growth. This is now completely dissipating as new growth comes in: • New leaves are clean • Shape is normalizing • Color looks healthy and balanced This confirms it was just early-stage adjustment, nothing structural or genetic to worry about. 🌡️ Environment & Feeding • EC / TDS: same as the rest of the room • Temperature & humidity: shared conditions, stable • Medium: Pro-Mix soil No special treatment — and that’s the point. DogDoctorOfficial 🌱 Amnesia Skunk — Week 5 (12/12 from seed) First real signs of flower & structural development Welcome to everyone joining the diary at this stage 👋 Here’s a quick recap, followed by a detailed Week 5 update. ⸻ 🔁 Quick recap — how we got here • 12/12 from seed from day one • Winter run, cold & humid external conditions • Focus on plant-led growth, minimal stress • No topping, no aggressive defoliation • Structure built through leaf tucking, gentle bending, and light LST Both plants have developed very similarly, with compact structure and strong lateral branching. No major phenotypic differences so far — which makes this run especially interesting to follow. ⸻ 🌸 Week 5 overview — transition into flower This week marks what feels like the first “real” flower week: • Clear bud sites forming • Vertical growth slowing slightly • Side branches pushing up evenly • Plants staying compact and well-balanced They’re stacking nicely and responding very well to the gentle training approach. ⸻ 🌿 Training & canopy management No heavy interventions here: • Continuous leaf tucking • Gentle branch bending • Very light LST, only where needed to open the canopy No defoliation beyond what’s absolutely necessary. The goal remains: let the plant decide, we just guide So far, this approach is paying off. ⸻ 🍽️ Nutrition & irrigation strategy (important update) ➕ CalMag introduced this week Not because the plants are deficient — but because: • We’re using rainwater + dehumidifier water • These sources are very low in minerals • Calcium & Magnesium need to be present before demand spikes This also explains the EC adjustments this week. ⸻ 🚿 Hand-watered plants • EC: 1.43 • pH: 5.9–6.0 • Water temp: 22.8°C Carefully adjusted to support flower transition without pushing too hard. ⸻ 💧 AutoPot-fed plants (6 plants) • EC: 2.29 • pH: 6.01 • Water temp: 22.8°C AutoPots are running mineral-only inputs, as organic inputs don’t perform well in this system. Higher EC here is intentional and controlled. ⸻ 🔍 Plant handling All plants are regularly: • Taken out of the tent • Checked for weight, water demand, and overall condition • Then returned to their position This helps ensure each plant gets exactly what it needs. ⸻ 🌡️ Environment (winter realities) • Outside: ~5°C, RH 92–96% • Grow room: • Temp: ~21.8°C • RH: ~58% Not ideal on paper — but the plants are not complaining, so we adapt and keep observing. ⸻ 💡 Lighting • PPFD: ~700–850 (depending on plant size and position) • Plants are praying consistently, showing good light response We let the plants “decide” how much they want to push. No forcing — just monitoring. 🔦 Under-canopy lighting — phased introduction By the end of this week, we’ll be plugging in the under-canopy lights. The canopy has already grown past the main light plane, and the goal here is not to blast the lowers — but to signal the plant that light is present from all directions. Why we’re doing this: • Encourage lower and inner bud sites to stay active • Reduce the “shade shutdown” response • Support more uniform flower development • Improve airflow and plant posture as branches respond to multidirectional light Important note: This will start very gently — low intensity, just enough to be perceived. DogDoctorOfficial 🌱 Amnesia Skunk — Grow Update Week 6 From Seed · 12/12 From Seed (Early Flower / ~Week 2 Flowering Transition) Quick Recap (for new joiners) This run is 12/12 from seed, and we are now at Week 6 from seed, which places us roughly in early flower / second week of flowering transition, depending on how one prefers to count. No aggressive interventions, no forcing. This grow is based on observation, leaf positioning, and letting the plant express herself naturally. Amnesia Skunk has shown: • Strong vertical intent • Beautiful internodal spacing • A structure that responds extremely well to simple leaf bending She is clearly in flower mode now and transitioning smoothly. ⸻ 🌡️ Environment Update (and Why It Matters) • Day temperature: ~28°C • Humidity: ~65% Outside temperatures are still on the cooler side, but inside the room things have shifted naturally. As plant mass increased, lighting intensity was raised, and under-canopy lighting was introduced, the room itself became a stable heat source. This allowed us to raise temperatures without adding external heating or forcing conditions. This balance is important because it keeps plant metabolism active but relaxed, especially during early flower. VPD Perspective At ~28°C and ~65% RH, we are sitting in a comfortable early-flower VPD range, supporting: • Active transpiration • Nutrient mobility • Strong gas exchange Nothing extreme, nothing restrictive. ⸻ 💡 Lighting & Atmosphere (Why These Numbers Work) • PPFD: ~600–850 (depending on plant size and position) • CO₂: ~900 ppm The PPFD range allows: • Smaller or lower sites to stay productive • Taller tops to push without stress This avoids the classic mistake of lighting only for the tops and forgetting the rest of the plant. CO₂ at ~900 ppm is intentionally moderate, not excessive. At this stage, it supports: • Faster carbon assimilation • Better light-use efficiency • No need to overfeed to “match” the CO₂ Everything stays balanced. ⸻ 🌬️ Airflow Strategy (This Is Not Random) • Vortex extraction • Cross-winds with multiple fans • Constant, gentle movement across the canopy The goal here is movement, not wind. Vortex extraction keeps fresh air cycling efficiently, while cross-winds prevent: • Microclimates • Stagnant humidity pockets • Weak stem development Leaves move gently, stems strengthen naturally, and flowers stay dry and comfortable as they form. Fresh air, no stress, no stagnation. ⸻ 💧 Feeding & Nutrition Strategy (Why the Change Now) • EC: 2.4 • pH: 6.5 This week marks a clear nutritional transition, guided by plant signals rather than calendar dates. Why pH 6.0+ from now on? As plants enter flower, nutrient uptake priorities shift: • Less focus on pure vegetative nitrogen pathways • More demand for elements tied to flower formation, enzyme activity, and energy transfer A slightly higher pH improves availability and balance of these elements in soil-based systems. The plant is clearly asking for it — posture, color, and growth rate all confirm this. ⸻ 🌱 Nutrient Change Explained • Removed: Terra Grow • Introduced: Terra Bloom — 5 ml/L Why remove Terra Grow now? Terra Grow is nitrogen-forward, designed to push vegetative mass. At this stage, excess veg-driven nitrogen can: • Delay flower focus • Encourage unnecessary leaf production • Blur the plant’s hormonal transition Why introduce Terra Bloom now? Terra Bloom supports: • Flower site development • Structural energy needs • Balanced nutrition without over-pushing foliage This is not a shock change. It’s a handover, and the plant is responding cleanly. ⸻ 🌿 Plant Structure, Leaf Work & Expression Amnesia Skunk continues to show excellent structure. • Leaf bending is the primary training method • No topping chaos, no forced stress • Just guiding light and space This method has: • Opened the canopy naturally • Preserved apical dominance while improving lateral exposure • Allowed the plant to stay confident and upright A few fan leaves were removed during photography — not as a defoliation event, but because they were funky, expressive, and worth documenting. DogDoctorOfficial 🌱 Amnesia Skunk — Grow Recap (from seed to now) Strain: Amnesia Skunk Auto-Flower: 12/12 from seed Current age: Week 7 from seed Flowering reference: Week 3 of flower (by morphology, not calendar) How we got here • From day one, this run was intentional: 12/12 from seed, no veg phase. • Plants established quickly with strong root development and steady internodal spacing. • Early structure showed vigorous lateral branching, typical of Amnesia-leaning genetics. • Transition into flower was smooth — no stall, no stress signals. • By early flower, canopy density increased fast, especially in a full 8×8 room (~27 plants). This is where room logic started to matter more than single-plant logic. ⸻ 🌡️ Environment Snapshot (current) • Day temp: ~28 °C • RH: ~65% • EC: ~2.4 • pH: ~6.5 • Height: ~40–80 cm • Lighting: LED (multi-layer canopy + under-canopy) On paper? Some growers panic at 28 °C in flower. In practice? This is where understanding beats numbers. ⸻ 🍃 LED, Leaf Temperature & VPD (the part most skip) Under LED lighting, room temperature ≠ what the plant feels. Unlike HPS, LEDs: • Don’t dump infrared heat • Keep leaf surface temperature 2–4 °C cooler than ambient So when: • Room temp ≈ 28 °C • Leaf temp ≈ 24–26 °C • RH ≈ 65% 👉 Leaf VPD lands right in the comfort zone for early–mid flower. And the plants confirm it: • Deep, relaxed green • No tacoing • No stress-praying • Strong internodes • Uniform nutrient uptake across phenotypes That’s real data. We’re not ignoring numbers — we’re letting plant behavior be the final authority. Stability fixing something that isn’t broken. ⸻ ✂️ Defoliation — why it was heavier this week Let’s be very clear: This was not aesthetic defoliation. This was functional, room-driven defoliation. Context matters • 🏠 8×8 room • 🌱 ~27 plants • 🌬️ Airflow, humidity pockets, and light penetration scale very differently at this density A single plant might not ask for it — but the room did. Why we defoliated • Improve airflow through a dense canopy • Reduce micro-humidity pockets • Let photons travel into the canopy, not just hit the top • Reset apical dominance • Refocus energy toward flowering sites Yes — it was heavier than initially planned. But: • Genetics are strong • Roots are dialed • Feed is stable • Plants are healthy Healthy plants recover fast. Stressed plants don’t.
