birdmountain Since the supply of Euforia has run low and many beautiful shoots have grown on the mother plant, I'm going to try a short 12/12 hour grow. The cuttings are now in the grow box, and hopefully enough will root. The cuttings were dipped in Clonex and placed in soaked Eazy-Plugs, where they will hopefully form roots. During the rooting phase, I still use 16/8 hours of light and switch to 12/12 hours of daylight after transferring to the final pot.

For your 12/12 hour grow with six clones in a 60x60 cm box, I recommend pots with a volume of 5 to 7.5 liters.
The 5-liter pots are the most suitable. With six plants in such a small space, 5 liters is big enough for nutrient supply and small enough to fit all the plants and avoid overcrowding the grow box.
If you use 7.5-liter pots, it will already be very tight.
Optimal range: 5 liters to 7.5 liters per plant.
In a 60x60, 6 plants are already relatively tight (equivalent to about 16.6 plants per m2). 5-liter pots are a good choice as they still provide enough nutrient buffer but don't take up too much space, allowing you to accommodate the 6 clones better. 7.5-liter pots would also work, but it will be very tight, and the risk of overcrowding increases.
Since you are working with clones and switching them to 12/12 immediately (or after a very short growth phase), the plants will stay smaller than if you had a long vegetative phase. Smaller plants need smaller pots.

birdmountain Out of the total eight cuttings, only five have survived due to a faulty heating mat control, and one of them is still struggling. Rooting took a week longer than usual. They have now been planted in purchased Terra Preta soil. After an acclimatization period, the light cycle will be adjusted.

birdmountain Unfortunately, only three of the cuttings managed to develop enough roots and cope with the soil. The ones that made it have grown well and overcome their issues. A few new cuttings, see background, look pretty good so far. They should show their roots soon. Then they'll be placed in seedling soil before being transplanted into the five-liter pots.

birdmountain The three remaining ones are developing splendidly. The new cuttings have all developed roots now but are too small for a 12/12 hour grow. I will abort this 12/12 attempt. When I put the small mother plant in the tent, the tent will be filled enough and switching to 12 hours would be possible. The cuttings could continue to root and become a new mother plant. My 3L pot mother plant is at room temperature between 18-20°C and a maximum of 20 watts LED.

birdmountain Unfortunately, the entire heating system in the house broke down for 10 days, and only 21° C was reached during the day and 17° C at night. They handled it well (we did too with the wood heating).
Against the usual fungus gnats, I water the soil with neem oil to combat the larvae. The older cuttings are developing splendidly, while the mother plant is still in the adjustment phase. The cuttings were topped and have become very strong and vigorous.
There are still some old damaged leaves visible, but the new leaves are large, juicy, and deep green.
The new cuttings can’t possibly catch up with this head start, so I will add another mother plant (Granddaddy Purple) in exchange for the young cuttings; let's see how it performs indoors, it hasn't been great outdoors for me so far.

birdmountain Since the new cuttings are still too small, I added a Granddaddy Purple mother plant to fill in. It has a similar size. The Euforia cuttings are really catching up, probably because they are sitting in unused, fresh soil. I'm watering with neem oil against fungus gnats; they're still around, but there are noticeably fewer.
The switch to 12/12 hours has been made, and the cuttings are starting to stretch.

birdmountain The grow seems to be under control now. The temperatures are fine, the humidity is right, the plants are growing and going into bloom. The multiple treatments with neem oil, both in the watering and as a leaf spray, have worked; there are currently no fungus gnats in sight. The lower shoots and leaves have been removed to ensure better air circulation. First fertilization with organic fertilizers. birdmountain There's not much to report from last week. The light intensity has been increased to 80%, which corresponds to 65000 Lux on my measuring device. The buds are doing their best and growing despite all the challenges. The heating in the box is a bit weak, which might be causing the discoloration of the leaves on the plants closer to the wall. The Granddaddy Purple smells a bit more intense than the Euforia. Fungus gnats need to be dealt with again, and the humidity needs to be lowered.

birdmountain Die Blütephase ist in die letzte Runde gegangen. Ich fahre nun die Düngergaben zurück, bzw. beende sie. Das Farbspiel ist beeindruckend, auch wenn es auf Mangelerscheinungen hinweist. Interessanterweise läßt sich die Granddaddy Purple davon nicht beeindrucken, obwohl sie in der gleichen Erde wächst. Ich gebe der Euforia noch ca. 2 Wochen bis zur Ernte.
The flowering phase has entered its final stage. I am now reducing the amount of fertiliser I use, or rather, stopping altogether. The play of colours is impressive, even if it indicates deficiency symptoms. Interestingly, the Granddaddy Purple is not affected by this, even though it is growing in the same bed. I am giving the Euforia about two more weeks until harvest.

birdmountain This grow is turning out to be quite promising in terms of scent and quality of the buds as it enters the final stretch. The trichomes are still completely white with no signs of browning, which will likely change in the coming week. Some leaves have dried out and have been removed. The fan has to run a lot at night to keep the humidity at 55%. During the day, 45% humidity is no problem thanks to the lamp. The yellow-orange coloring of the leaves continues to shift to reddish before they dry out. The Granddaddy Purple, however, is maturing without any signs of leaf discoloration. It has remained denser and smaller. The pH level of the water is set to about 6.5.

Euphoria is a pretty easygoing strain that's great for cuttings and mother plants. Its yield isn't particularly high, and the smell is old-school spicy. It handles dry conditions well and also thrives in a grow box. It will definitely be grown again.

birdmountain I actually planned to harvest only once the trichomes turned slightly brown. However, I saw photos of sample grows on the Dutch Passion website where the trichomes were just milky – and according to the caption, those plants were already ready for harvest. So, I finished this grow. The cut plants are hanging in the grow box with the lights off and drying. The fan and heater are still on, heater set to 25°C, and humidity at 42% for starters. It's the first time I'm drying in the grow box. After the initial difficulties with the cuttings, I dropped the 12/12 plan. Cuttings for such a grow need to be available in sufficient quantity and well-developed, otherwise it can end badly. But after that, the Euforia ladies developed well. Probably the potassium content of the pure Terra Preta was way too high, as they are sensitive to that. Next time, less fertilizer, adjusted soil, and already suitable cuttings. 😁🙏

The mother plant grew without any issues in the small 5L pot. Unlike the other Sativas in the tent, she had no problems with the high potassium content. She has a fruity scent. The smoke report will follow in a few weeks.

birdmountain She was the substitute for missing cuttings in this grow. She never really performed well outdoors, so I decided not to propagate her anymore. Maybe a mistake...
She has a pleasant, fruity scent, and her buds are quite large and hard for the small pot. She stays small and handles high nutrient levels in the soil well. Bye-bye with a tear 😴 is all I can say. However, she has now been crossed into many different strains. 😉

Your plants are looking nice, healthy and green! But I also see some browning of the pistills. Are you sure you don’t have a hermie in your tent? I found one in my tent last week and it pollinated my other plants 😱 But maybe the pistills are brown because of another reason…?

@India_Calcoen, thanks for pointing that out, but they can't be Hermies, as I've already cut clones from them several times and brought them to flower. It must be this soil, because all other factors are identical: watering, fertilization, and light. My mistake must have been using this “Terra Preta” soil on its own and also indoors. It's probably better suited for outdoor use.
