Auto White Widow, first try LST/Topping

Started germination on 5/5. Day 1, Germinated 4 seeds on damp paper towel inside plastic bag. Placed on top of heat mat for 24 hours. (3/4 were sprouting well, 1/4 cracked and barely sprouted) Day 2, Removed from paper towel, placed in cup bottoms with neutral soil and mycorrhiza added. Moistened soil and wrapped with plastic wrap. Sat on top heat mat. Day 3, Removed sprouts from cup bottoms and placed in 5 gallon cloth bags. 2 plants per container, filled with Kellogg's soil/perlite/peat moss/mycorrhiza mixture. Mounded for watering purposes. Going for a SoG technique. Day 4, Good progress, most leaves have turned darker green and beginning to look for the light. Watered drip line to ensure mycorrhiza developed. Day 5, WW2-4 both grew 1 inch, WW1-3 both gained 1/2 inch. Most leaves appear normal, except WW4 which has slightly dropping cotyledons (the one with slight yellowing) Day 6, WW1-4 all gained roughly 1/2-3/4 inch, all roughly the same size now. Yellowing on WW4 is gone, signs of secondary leaves visible. Half a watering today. Day 7, WW1 is the tallest at 2.1 inches. Barely visible secondary leaves. Don't think it's stretching because WW1 had the best access to light. WW2-4 are all the same height at 1.8inches and bigger secondary leaves. Everyone seems happy and healthy for their first week.

Day 8(5/12)- Today we have a good watering, and began LST! Using a method involving 'light training', where we use the light to move the plants around bamboo steaks. A technique used to cultivate certain melons, so you can just grow it to the shape you want without bending or chance of breakage. Pre-setting sticks while young will prevent any potential root damage. Little note, don't stick the skewers in very deep. Just enough to hold up the plant. Let's see how they do! Day 10(5/14)- lots of good growth, everyone receptive to training. WW1 is much more sativa like than the other 3, and WW2 is the most indica like. Hopefully we'll make it to the second stake by this week! Day 11(5/15)- So I started a batch of raw sugar wine to be turned into sugarshine, and we're using the run off CO2 for the plants! 1/2" polytubing in a stopper, with holes around the plants. This one gallon ferment will last roughly 21-35 days and give ample CO2 to help the plant. And we get delicious drinking liquid 😉😊 Day 14 (5/18) Great leaf growth. Third set coming up and second set is fanning out. Watered with raw sugar infused water.

Start week 3 (Day 15, 5/19) Day 15, 5/19- Good growth all around. Day 18, 5/22- watered with a touch a calmag for prevention measures. Began LST to get the stem totally horizontal. 2 plants per pot, going for a half moon spiral.

Day 21(5/27) Topped WW1 4th node on 5/26. Seems to have responded well. WW2-4 all trucking along with 4 nodes, fifth starting. All have 3 inch horizontal growth and at least 3 inch vertical growth. Once they get another inch we'll tie em down the other way. 6/1 Doing well. Cola formation on 1+2 are doing great.

6/3, Day 28 Tent Day! Everyone is trucking along. Tiny flower sites showing. Everyone got fed and watered today, and we rehomed into a Grower 4x4 tent. Whoever says autos don't like topping 🤷 These two girls are really doing well, we'll see what topping at node 3, node 4, and no topping of the same plant yields. All LST the same way

6/10, day 37 Explosive growth on the colas. Main stem is about 8 inches horizontal and the colas are about 6-7 inches tall each. Topped plants have bigger, more flowered colas than the non topped. LST makes such a huge difference in growth, as opposed to the natural Xmas tree. Couldn't be happier and cannot wait to see how these ladies turn out compared to the Stunted Gal.

6/17 Great cola growth. 1/2 was droopy for a few days and had a few lower leaves turn yellow. I think this is due to the soil being compacted when I had to move everyone around. I aerated the soil a bit and she seems to have perked back up. 6/22 Changed nutrient program to flower only. Buds are filling out and the stink is coming on!

6/24 These ladies have been stretching and getting hairy. I can see trichs forming near base of leaves, moreso on the topped than no topped. Topped are much easier manage than the untopped and growing quicker so 🤷 whoever says topping/topping autos is bad. Happy growin' y'all! ✌️😎💨

7/1 Switched lights from 2x 600 watt LED to 2x 1200 watt Bestva Reflector LED. So much better, tent got an upgrade too. Airflow, light, and new nutrients from Humboldts Secrets. So far, the ladies are LOVING it and have begun to get fat. Smell is pretty normal, piney scent that's got a little fruity/citrus note. I'm think 2-3 more weeks will do her justive. 7/8 Most trichomes have turned milky (80%). Most hairs are still white and the ladies are swelling nicely. We've stopped the Flowering 2 nutrient regiment from Humboldts Secrets and started our flush. Still using molasses until the last 4 days, then we'll stop all watering and pick the whole plant the week after. Looking like we have 10 days to go (ish) if everyone decides they're ready! Happy growin' y'all! ✌️🌱🌲😎💨 7/12 Placed the girls into the "suffocation" chamber. Sounds scary but quite a few peer reviewer studies show that pre-fermenting the plants, or pre-curing them is more beneficial than flushing. Simply "sufficate" roots with water by 1) shutting off bubbles in hydro or 2) keep soil/less medium saturated att all times for 36-72 hours. I still use a molasses and Terpinator solution for this "soaking" to keep enough nutrient to keep her going. Benefits include terpene production and enhancement and minor 'bud bulkage'. The second part of the chamber includes 0 light. This isn't for terpene or trichome enhancement but for starting the breakdown of chloraphyll to lead to a smoother and better tasting product. Man these gals are SHORT. Very heavy lowryder influence via growth, but very white when it comes to flowers. Perfect for anyone who is limited on space/height/stealth. Will update on palatability and smoked after cure.
