Hello all She’s growing pretty good now, woul have liked her a bit bigger:). The sidebranches are getting big and strong because of the LS training. And with weather getting warmer it can only go better. The prebloom is getting more and more visable AND smellable. Some leaves are getting eaten by bugs so I’m going to spray some BIO insectecide for fruit and vegtables. Is this safe to use? And how much do I need to use? Thanks for stopping by, feel free to leave a comment.

I posted some pics of the leaf issues (brown spots on the sides of the leaves) I’m having.. could someone tell me what the problem is? I don’t give them any nutrients but the soil is pre furtilized for 1 month. Thanks in advance

It seems she got light nutrition burns, bot nothing you should be worried about. As she grows she can handle this.

I would like to defoliate some leaves that are blocking bud sites. I would cut max 10% of the leaves. I would do that once the nugs are really noticable (2-3weeks into flowering) Do you think this is going to stress her out? And do you really gain much if you cut those fanleave

She looks good and healthy, so if you did I don't think it would stress her out much. For outdoors, I wouldn't defoliate unless it was getting extremely out of control. If I were you, I would keep on rocking with the LST. 👊 Good luck and happy growing!

@CoastGrower Curled or rippled leaves suggest over watering, and that could account for the nitrogen deficiency exhibited by the pale color. Get an $8 moisture meter, and let the soil reach the moist/dry border before watering again. Late in flower, let her get truly dry for a day or two before watering. I don’t really get the widespread popularity of autos, but in your case the Ruderalis gene has strengthened her against cold weather. Leave ‘em be. Plants don’t like to be moved around. Ruderalis grows naturally near the arctic. She can take 50o nights. Adding a heat wrap to keep the roots a bit warmer will speed growth. Or just set out flagstones to warm up in the sun and place the pots atop them for the night. That will help a little Best wishes for the harvest of your dreams! Keep at it!!

@growdoctordc, what you say makes sence :) I’fI move them I will make sure they always face the same to the same direction.
growdoctordc

@CoastGrower, It is standard practice to give plants as much direct sun as possible, and I have always stood by that concept. But a few things we don’t conpletely understand are in play. Plants are stationary creatures in nature. If you move their pots around maybe they ‘’feel’ disoriented, which could result in stress that slows growth. At least be conscious of the cardinal directions when you move them - meaning don’t turn them around at all. Whatever faces west still faces West after you move it. Make sense? I know I have some esoteric ideas about plants that can never be proven. As for direct full sun, I have a friend who grows on his roof, surrounded by trees. His plants get dappled sunlight only. They truly qualify as shade grown. The plants are big bushes and the calyxes are huge and resin filled. Cannabis adapts to ANY and ALL conditions. Even better if you can breed your own seeds, and grow them again and then again. Each generation does better with its relocalization. Eventually you have a landrace strain - a strain originally from another part of the world, that has fully adapted to its local conditions. Enjoy!

@growdoctordc, thanks for the tips. I didn’t gave them water for 5 days and this morning I gave 0.3L. The soil was pretty dry, top 3 cm bonedry. Isn’t it better to move them around so they get the most sun? I move them 3 times a day so they get 12 hours of direct sunshine a day. I grow autoflowers because of the climate.. years ago I used normal seeds but every time I lost so much because of toprot.. these Will bloom when the sun is out the most. I have a Kalini Asia with my mother that’s not a autoflower, wanted to try it 1 more time. Thanks for the tip, goingto buy a thing to check the moist in the soil just to be sure.

you cancelled your question while I think I gave you the right solution to your wrong problem dude ?…. not a nice attitude in my opinion… i maintain it is most probalby white cochineal wich done that because i already had this…. if it was mildew your stem around will not healthy like i told you… I thought you'd be happy to know that you can Always do a good Harvest .. i explained you by chat that is simple to kill by inspecting regulary most early in Morning or later evenning...and i give you info on a product you can find on my main page that you can use even in flowering time….link of white cochineal….but if you are sure of your problem why asking ? ---------------- Man, take our time to help others growers is based on the notion of a virtuous circle in a sense ….be careful if you break it because in the future pppl like me may not come to help you anymore…👍 like i said there is Always a litle possibility i was wrong but i tried to show you and at distance it's not so easy sometimes
the_curious_grower
the_curious_growerweek 12
@Coastgrower, as seen on the pictures i would say it is mildew. it does not look like cochineal since as far as i know those are insects. you could treat your plant by mixing 100 ml milk, 900 ml water and four teaspoons of natriumcarbonate. and yes your plant is already flowering, but the precautions of using this mix on a flowering plant are morely about the milk on fat cola's which might get a musty smell. so go easy on it and best is to use skim milk. another mixture could be two teaspoons of biological appel cider vinegar, half a teaspoons of natriumbicarbonate with 1 liter of water. hopefully it will be all right mate!

lol my friend !! 🤣🤣 it is not mildew at all to my point of view….this kind of white powder' s made by Cochineal (Coccoidea in latin)…. Carefully inspect your entire plant regulary you will find it 👍👌 it s easy to treat if you have the good product 👊 google is your friend 🙏 Ps : you lost one nice bud for nothing….dont waste the others ^^🙏

@CoastGrower, absolutly normal because they suck the sap from the plants…. what is the Brown spot between your fingers on the first pic….can you shot a closer look and wipe the powder with your fingers and crush it between your thumb and forefinger

@Budofpray, the strange thing is that I have small round white fluffy spots on my leaves.. it’s somewhere between mildew and the thing you say.. the buds are riping fast so I hope I will be able to harvest.. just need to keep a close eye on my plant.

@Fredsai, high humidity low winds and some mildew somewhere in my garden or the garden from my neighbours.. hope my last plant isn’t affected by it, cause I want some herb with Amber trichomes for nighttime :).

@CoastGrower, that's crazy man! Is it caused by too much humidity? I will have to study it, too..

@Fredsai, just had to harvest my moby dick, found some mildew spot on some leaves.. but she was almost ready so all is good. When you check your plants often (2a3 times a day) you can manage the mildew pretty good. Now let’s hope my youngest isn’t going to get mildew but I think she will.

CoastGrower
CoastGrower
@@@Anonnabis, when she sprouted and had the first 2 sets of ‘real leaves’ I bend her to 45 degrees so the sidebranches get more sun.. then when the branches get longer I train them. And I tuck leaves under the branches so all the sidebranches get the most sun as possible. It’s the first time that I have been doing it and I think I will never stop. I rather have 20 uniform nugs and not 1 massive cola. Thanks for your comment.

Looking quite healthy. 😁👊🏼. I couldn't see the brown spots even when I zoomed... my eyes or phone not so good.... or both 🤣😂. But even if I could... I doubt I would be able to advise. I just know that if my leaf tips go brown then suspect nutes/EC to high. Perhaps next time or even now, edit the photo where you put a colourful circle around the area. Grow 🌱 well 😎✌️🏼

It seems like a good crop amount IMHO :) I think that earlier crop may affect the power of it but should be tasty and give nice "flow" either way ;) I was thinking of that strain myself but I got to less sun at my place at the moment - I read Northern Light needs lots of light. Waiting for crop weight update and good luck with the others! :D
CoastGrower

@Kshaqu, thanks! I think the end yield could have been much better, buds didn’t get fat. Once I have the weight I will update but I think it’s not going to be more than 30gr.

@Kshaqu, thanks! It’s handy because there can be some high winds here. And when they stay low they don’t fall over every time the wind blows. Can’t wait for the little nuggets to fatten up.

@the_curious_grower, it was only halfly snapped off. Only some wire and ducktape :). The leaves never went droopy. Thanks, yeah it’s the first time I grow a plant like this, low and bushy, so I’m lot sure if it’s going to be a good big yield.. I sure hope so lol. I gave her much love and time.

She looks like she’s coming along nice and healthy, doesn’t look like the cold and wind has affected her in the slightest. Hopefully the weather improves.
CoastGrower
CoastGrower
@Windowgrow, I have red somewhere that the wind helps them to grow strong branches. Also I take them inside every evening around 9 (someties earlier if the weather is really shitty) and put them under 16W led lights till 10.30 next to the windom. I think that helped the plant to get bushy. Now I hope all buds are going to fatten up and get really dense. Tomorrow I will do an update, she’s grown a bit more 😀.

100 growers will give you a 100 different answers. Defoliation is a controversial topic; the best advice is to try it and make your own mind about it. I tried defoliation and although it did not hurt the yield, I noticed no advantage to it. I pluck leaves that are about to fall and get off with barely a tug and that's it.
CoastGrower
CoastGrower
@@Athos, for the moment I’m tucking all leaves under the branches. I did defoliate before but don’t know it helped or not. But my feeling sais because it’s outside I should leave them alone.

CoastGrower

@Windowgrow, Thanks! Yes I’m really happy so far. It’s the first time I really did LST and it seems the plant likes it a lot. Now I have a moby dick and also started LST 2 weeks earlier so maybe that one is going to become even bushier :). You can still low stress your sidebranches.. just pull them down a bit so they recieve more sun. Than your sidebranches can produce sidesidebranches :) and that means extra nuggets. Good luck!

Nice genetic I will grow this auto this season too. The brown spot on the leaf isn't a big issue I think it could be any kind of stress ... little nute burn or did you transplant her recently? Than maybe its a little transplant shock. I dont think that the soil is to rich in nutrients because she looks kind of light green to me and not as dark green as she could when she gets fed perfectly. But oudoors it is difficult to provide the perfect enviroment so don't worry! Keep Growing! 👍
